Well seeing that I can't find any zerg to play my terran I'm forced to start playing the imbalanced game of terran vs toss.

I've been getting my butt whooped on lately. I don't know why. Probably a combination of things. Not playing much for a day or two will set you back a bit. Plus, I really think that starcraft is a streaky game (for me anyways). I win a bunch then I start winning about half my games and losing the other half horribly.

Anyways, back to the report. I posted my 6 pack yesterday in strategies & tactics and asked if anyone had any good terr vs toss strategies. OneManClan reposted MircoTerrans toss strategy. And it really could work as you will find out here.

Map: Lost Temple
Me: Good & Wholesome Terran in the Bottom.
Him: Evil,Bad Toss on the right.

I've found that sealing the choke vs toss will keep Zlots back while you tech to vultures and tanks. So I start by sealing it with my first depot then racks then bunker with scv blocking the ally between the bunker and racks. A pissed off probe sees what is going on and telepathically tells the first two Zlots to try and break up my party at my choke point. Well my first 3 marines are sitting back sipping cold beer when the two Zlots show up and just wander around trying to find a path in. The marines hurl some hot lead at the Zlots and they decide to camp out at the start of my base.

During this time I did no mircomanagement, just macro. Scv's, factories(2), depots, and a academy for scouting. The protoss commander balks at my sealed choke by saying something like, "my goons are going to tear down that choke with ranged shells."

I know that hes trying to throw me off cause I scan to see a citadel. (That dirty liar) I get vultures and research spider mines. Mine my front door after lifting off the barracks/frontdoor. Killing the Zlots in the process with mines and troops. The bad thing is that Dts start coming in fast. LUCKY, I had one mine left after the dt's ripples on the screen are no more.

More mines, More mines, and more mines. The whole board is mined. His choke and mine especially.
Tank production started ASAP after I scan to see a bunch of goons. After my first couple tanks I start a CC to float to the island in the right and get a starport.

A few minutes pass with no action. He does begin to remove my mines with goons and a observer. I scan to now see a stargate and becon. Its too early for carriers but I do see cosairs? I've got a few wraiths but they are no threat to him yet. Then it hits me D-web!!!!!

The bad part is that one minute later as I expand he D-webs my choke. Goons start pounding on my choke. That 1000 hit point barrack I put there serves as a great target and frontdoor. I unseige and reseige to just get D-webbed again. But two tanks don't get D-webbed and I start pounding. By now I've got like 6-7 tanks, some are guarding the backdoor for a drop. After this gay attack I get offencive.

Mistake #1
I get all my troops but two tanks and take off to his only known expansion in the top. THIS IS WHERE I COULD HAVE WON THE GAME. I did everthing right till this point. I was sick of sitting still in my base and try to do a super long tank push. It fails at first but I am rolling in the dough so I'm making more tanks and sci vessels now with a squad of M&Ms to mope up with. I kill most of his troops is the good part though. My second attempt gets me to his choke point and i kill everthing he has on the ground with my 4 tanks.
I think to myself "Why didn't I bypass his troops and drop about 4 tanks and some M&Ms off onto the expansion?

Mistake #2
The two tank pushes takes extreme micro and I neglect to scan his main. 3 starports and 6 carriers.

I have like 6 wraiths. Not enough with the cosairs as backup. The carriers kill my tanks & M&Ms, while at home I've ordered a armory and some golaiths and more wraiths. I look up to see 1200 minerals and 1000 gas that I could have invested in ghosts and wraiths.

The rest is just too hard for me to describe. I got raped.
He start blabbing about how great a game it was and how he's really a 1200+ player just using a shitty account. It was a gg I guess. It did last 43 minutes. And was intense.
Oh yah, and those wraiths i had. 8 wraiths couldn't kill the two observers before they all bite the dust.

Lessons Learned:
MircoTerran's Strategy does work but I neglected to scout later in the game and I didn't make ghosts.

The early game I pulled off perfect execution. I had him. I slacked off and lost it.

Next time think Dropship, Dropship, Dropship. Tank pushes against a good toss take toooooooooooooo long.

Learn Mircoterran's strategy better then I did if you want to win. In a game its easy to forget aspects of it. I must practice it.
