Well I was looking for a game on ye old Mplayer (why do people use kali etc when Mplayer is free??) When I decided that instead of listening to gay-ass american "wannabe-in-the-army-but-balls-are-too-small" talk, I joined up a game called Ice, with 4 others in it. Now if there is one thing I hate about mplayer, it is the fact that you can use a mike to talk. I don't wanna hear some spotty asswipe calling me "dude", and getting all defensive when I make fun of him being in a clan (Wow I must be pissing lots of people off with this BR)
Time for a paragraph.
Two I think. Anyway, there I was, after making up my mean machine dire wolf, sitting in a game waiting for some fool to actually make HIS one too, and listening to his buddy being a poof and not havin the balls to tell him to hurry the fuck up. We got there in the end, on some FFA map, they all look the same to me so I can't tell which one it is. Started with g, I think.
I will tell you a bit about my dire wolf- It has 2 LRM(long range missile) launchers, one on either shoulder, with 240 rounds in each. Overkill probably, but I have little else to use. Also in one of my sides, I aint tellin you which, I have a MC10 with 70 rounds. I will tell you right now that they fuckin hurt a lot, and really screw things like gyros etc. I also have 2 mp-lasers in each arm, 3 jump jets, one mp-laser in my chest, and I think thats about it.
Well we all start off and immediately moan because the guy who created it turned off most of the HUD functions like radar and the odd e-button thingy. We decided to play anyway, so I got to my missiles, targeted the closest guy, waited for them to lock on and let loose with 40 missiles. His entire robot went from blue to yellow in the wireframe, and he immediately turned to face me.
Being the coward I am, I had run behind one of the huge buildings. However, I had forgotten about the other three guys, and one shot me in the back with about a trillion lasers, while the first guy jumped OVER the building and landed right on my head, crushing my ass to the ground. After I was resurrected I ran after the first guy, and let off everything I had at the bastard. He was fighting another guy, so I simply poured all my stuff into him, till he blew.
He was not too happy about that but it was too late anyway because the guy who he was fighting had a direwolf as well, so we went to duke it out in a nice big space, while the other 3 were off wanking or whatever. I can tell you that 200 tons of metal smashing into each other does no-one any good (especially when you have jets on full bore and going at max speed) and we were both smacked about before we actually managed to get down to it.
I started by concentrating fire on his right arm which seemed to hold his machine gun, however he kept twisting so I rarely got a good shot. I then switched tactics and pounded on his right side, because if you do enough damage to it the arm will fall off anyway. We both smashed at each other with our rockets and machine guns until he just went psycho and sent laser bolts everywhere. I simply tried to dodge, knowing he would overheat and blow.....
.......Which he did. BA-BOOM!!!! I spent the next 10 minutes sparring with a dire wolf, and it was only when I went mental with my lasers at his head and my overheat bar was red that he went boom, and I shutdown immediately after. I was not aware that the other 2 (one of them had disc'ed) were watching, so I was helpless while the ripped me apart.
I had another duel with the dire wolf which was fun considering he had no weapons and was basically trying to stand on my head, however yet again I pulled through, turned around, and blasted one guy who had also just finished a fight with one salvo. Extra gosu style points there.
The game went on for a few more minutes, but I had to go have breakfast so we called it quits.
I self destructed a few times before I relised that it took points off, so my final score of 3 wasn't true, it was more like 6 or maybe even 7. The top score was the other guy in his dire wolf, he got 12, and the other 3 got around 7 or 8 apiece. For my first time playing a ffa in mechwarrior, it wasn't bad, imho.
