Lifetime Rating for [bad]Derek: 5.5000 |   | Well, if you were unlucky enough to read my first BR, (my previous name was shameless) you might have noticed that I suck.
So what do I decide to do? BR a great game! But I couldn't find any good games:( ...but I did stumble upon some great players
Well let's see, I visited clan ~nohunters for the first time ever last night, and I see no other than [asf]aznsunboy! Yeah, I didn't know who he was either! But I did see cyanbloodbane wander in, then slipknot, then [fls]prozerran! Omg, after aznsunboy spams for only about half a minute, these 3 guys wanna play, and they all agreed to let me observe! My mouth watered...and then they all left!
Oh no! I scroll up to see, doh! They already created a game and I didn't notice! I frantically try joining, but the game had already started:(
Undeterred, I wait for another few minutes and see the likes of Wangsonn (who cares:P) T_mac, and Bane join.
T_mac goes cybering with some regular of nh, and Bane is still sitting there, afk like he always is.
Wangsonn desperately wants to show off his super gosu skills, so he spams for a 1v1...haha, no one wants to play with his lag!
But Bane re-joins, and after some serious ass kissing, Wang and I persuade him to a 1v1, me observing. (Don't worry, I play games too:P, just not very well)
Well I gave my word I would write a report on this game, so blame Wangsonn, if it get's a little dull:)

Bane and Wangsonn both send early peons to scout eachother, and after both finding eachother, Bane uses his probe to attack Wangsonn's scv building his first rax:P, while Wangsonn sends his scout to his choke, to help fend off a rush, or build a bunker.
Well, Wangsonn may be dumb, but he knows scvs>probes, so he sends 2 scv's to dispatch the maruading probe. Almost, Bane, I guess this is the end...
Well, as you all know, Bane is one tough cookie, so he doesn't give up quite yet.
Bane goes for a gate and gas, then a pylon, then a cy core, then another gateway...while Wangsonn decides to "erect" a supply, rax, (obviously) supply, and 2 factories.
Bane makes the first move, by sending 1 zealot and 2 dragoons at Wangsonn's lightly defended choke, which has 1 vulture, and 3 marines. Sure, Wangsonn has the high ground, but 1 zeal and 2 goons easily own that pitiful force, right?
As you can see, Protoss (and Bane) both have some serious issues with pathing, as Wangsonn loses 2 marines.
Well, Wangsonn has lost 50 minerals worth of troops, and (and Bane) has lost 350 minerals, and 100 gas worth of troops. Does Wangsonn press his early advantage? Nope, because a steady trickle of Protoss dragoons work their way down to Wangsonn's still lightly defended base, each time dying, but carving more and more into Wangsonn's choke. Now, although some progress is being made, Bane quickly realizes that there are more effective ways of winning a Protoss vs. Terran battle, so he builds a robotics facility, sends a probe to expand to 2:30, and slaps down a robotic support bay.
While Bane is working on his economy, he has also pushed Wangsonn from the high ground overlooking his base, to the low ground surrounding his base:)
Here we see what Bane has been doing in his climb up the tech and expansion ladder.
Wangsonn has finally rid himself of the dragoon problem, with one unsieged tank and about a dozen scv's:)
Wangsonn then takes 2 vultures and lays 6 mines below the first choke to his base...
...As Bane has got his expansion running, built a reaver, loaded it into a shuttle, and sent 6 dragoons to the middle.
Now, 3 things happened in the next half minute, Bane sent his 6 dragoons to once again attack Wangsonn's base and once again retake the choke, and when Bane discoveres a tank and a marine sitting behind the minefield, right next to the ledge, he drops his reaver right next to them. The choke is taken, the tank and marine gone, and luckily, just before this went down, Wangsonn sent an scv to build a CC at the 7:30 spot, not more than a minute before the route was cut off by Bane's dragoons and reaver.
Bane then builds 4 more gateways, an observatory, and a citadel of adun at the same time...wow:)
Meanwhile, Wangsonn is frantically trying to build defenses for his main, knowing that he has fast shuttles with reavers in them, and mass dragoons about to knock down his last choke. Oddly, Wangsonn didn't build an academy the entire time, foregoing firebats, stim, range, and comsat. Tisk tisk.
Well, there was a short lull in the action, as Bane was harassing Wangsonn's last choke and the outskirts of his base with small drops and dragoon attacks, which Wangsonn barely held off, while Wangsonn finally started building up his expansion.
Bane eventually built a huge army of a few reavers, some observors, and a crapload of dragoons, gathered at the top of the final choke...Wangsonn had sent tanks near the choke, and after seigeing up near the choke, they fired their mighty arclite cannons up at the alien invaders...but even after 2 cheap shots, but there was nothing stopping Bane, as he was now mining from 3 bases, (an expansion that he started in the middle was now complete,) and he was warping in 2 forges. Clearly, tanks couldn't stop the huge horde of dragoons that smashed through Wangsonn's main.
Bane said GG, as he assumed Wangsonn didn't have an expansion, but he didnt even have to scout with observors, because he knew he had contained Wangsonn the entire time, and there was only one place Wangsonn could have expanded...the 7:30 spot.
Wangsonn knew that Bane would attack his new expansion with mass ground, so he laid a large minefield of about 14 mines at the western entrance of his expansion...but Bane simply went up the eastern entrance:) LOL, and GG...I said.
GG, said Wangsonn, and he left the game.
LESSONS LEARNED
1. Bane owns all
2. You don't need BW units to win a Protoss vs. Terran (neither player used BW units, it was just like original)
3. Wangsonn sucks, but he is getting better:)
4. We need a good vs. Bane matchup, and an epic BR to go along with it
5. I suck at BR'ing
