Lifetime Rating for Shameless: 6.0000 |  | The only reason I am able to make this report is, my best friend, john, (not his b.net name) was observing, and sent me an e-mail covering the entire game.
This is an interesting report, but much more interesting is the strategies employed.
I was in ladder challenges (shh) and was spamming for a 1v1 on Dire, of course the big new fad these days is Lost Temple, or Dark Temple, or Desert Temple, but no one wants to play Dire anymore, whats up with b.net these days?
Anyway I came upon this fellow named happy:)marine, and he wanted to play a terran vs. terran, in his opinion, these were the most exciting games in starcraft. I gave him my word that it would be terran vs. terran, (i was desperate) and created the game.
Oh yeah, did I tell you, the map is Dire Straits? Yeah, Terran vs. Terran on dire. ~Real fricken exciting~ I thought to myself, this is gonna take 2 hours! yeah...like I'd report a 2 hour game:)
So the game starts, me, [bad]derek, (alias) spawning as teal, in the top left (10:30) position
and happy:)marine, red, spawning bottom right (4:30)
*yawn* right?
I decided to make this game SHORT, no matter what, so I devised an interesting build order in approximately 18 seconds of scv clicking.
THE 3 COMMAND CENTER DO OR DIE TOILET BUILD!
YEAH! Ok here is what I did, I layed down a rax, depot, refinery, and built nothing but scv's and marines.
I then built 2 CC's, one on the southwestern part of my base, the other on the northeastern part of my base, I then merrily floated them away and started on my factory and e-bay.
By then he had comsated my refinery, and I guess all he saw was my one rax and refinery, so he didn't see that all I had was mass scv's, a half completed factory, and 8 marines to defend my base:)
He then made the first move...
Remember my kewl scv that built one of the two cc's in the northeastern area of my base?
Well it turns out that 4 wraiths had been skirting the edge of the map, probably looking to sodomize my jolly scv's collecting minerals in my main (he was so intent on not getting discovered but a few buildings or marines, he didnt even notice my two expansions to the south and east of my base)
I discovered this just barely with my scv, and at the last second of their passing, I saw the last one cloak! AHH!!!!! One thing ended up saving me, Poor Building Placement (pbp to all u gosu players who make acronyms out of everything)
Since I didnt construct ANY buildings within view of the edge of the map (like you should, to discover drops and sneak attacks like this).....he didn't see any buildings on the way to the corner behind my main mins and gas, so he assumed I was unaware of his evilness.
Well, I had started two turrets right next to my cc about 2 seconds after I noticed the first red blotch, so the whole game, basically, hung in the next 15 seconds.
Oh NO! Here they come!
The wraiths scream in, my heart skips a beat, and then they just...die!
Hehe, the first turret is done! the wraiths are undaunted, sitting directly on top of the damn thing, getting blasted.
The second turret is done! Bam! Bam! gogo power...AHH!
TANKS!
The wraiths momentarily retreat, letting 2 tanks take their slow ass time in destroying my turrets.
I begin researching vulture speed, and I built 2 vultures and 2 more turrets just out of the tank's range.
I have about, uhhh 37 minerals, and 300 gas:)
But I do have 2 fully operating expansions, with turrets springing up and starports being constructed.
Now, back to the main.
My vultures and turrets now being complete, and my vulture speed upgrade seconds away, I instruct my scv's to bum rush the tanks, and when the wraiths start popping them, I retreat them to the turrets, after the wraiths, (and some more wraith reinforcements) run into the two turrets I send my two speedy vultures to station themselves right next to the tanks.
At the same time, I sent my 8 marines behind my minerals, to help kill the now unsieged tanks, and the now retreating wraiths, (wraiths hate turrets) run smack dab into my marines...the whole invasion force ended up popping in 2 seconds flat.
Remember how I said I was building starports? They completed, so I queue up 3 wraiths, a dropship and a science vessel.
Im, again, out of money...and wait patiently as I prepare my troops for the most vicious counter-attack in Terran vs. Terran on Dire Straits history!
I build another Starport
Well, when the opprotunity presented itself (more money) I queued up a few more marines , 2 dropships, and 2 tanks.
So after a few minutes, I had helf off another (4!) tank drop and a control group of marines with 4 mines and my remaining vultures and marines...haha, I didn't even have to reveal my wraiths to him, he just dropped behind my minerals again, right on top of the mines:)
So, I now have 2 dropships containing 6 marines, 2 medics each, 2 more dropships containing 3 tanks and 4 marines, and 8 wraiths.
Mwahahaha!
After intense comsating...I discover one expansion, (3 o clock) and a cluttered main with a good 8 tanks and 12 marines for defense...and a few busy starports.
hmm...fukkit!
I doom dropped his ass, in full view of his 2 factories, sieged the tanks, cloaked the wraiths, and crossed my fingers as I click on one of the marines attacking my army.
1-0
YESS...my marines are 1-2! sweet!
I end up killing his factories, and his marines, but 4 tanks have made it behind a small group of 3 or 4 turrets, protecting the CC and the scv's working there.
Amazingly, I had not lost a single wraith in that battle, so I sent them to kill marine's evil expansion.
Yeah, they also run into 3 turrets...*sigh*
then, 3 wraiths pop out of my starports, and after tightly grouping all 12 of my wraiths, I proceed to take out each turret, one at a time, the expansion goes up in flames, and with his tech and all his scv's gone (I was surprised at this, but John said that he used all of them against my marines!)

ahh....what a game:)
