"Unfortunately, the evil Protoss military-industrial complex had so heavily polluted the SCV's normal migratory pathway with cannons that not one made it to the mating grounds."

Chaos Wars

Map: Rivalry Note: Look at the end to see the map :)

Prelude

The weather on the small islands of Rivalry was close to unbearable, so hot and muggy it was. It seemed as if you might even be able to grab the air, as thick as it felt. This uncomfortable heat might have been one of the reasons that the tensions between the four small city-states was as it was. The south-eastern coast was occupied by the Terran City Amedaeus, looming on the cliffs overlooking the raging ocean. The civilized civilazation, with the Terran Senate at its head, was not quite a peaceful race. Their philosophy was a harsh one, but truthful. Peace cannot stand alone, force must back it up. This is one of the reasons it could not coincide with its protoss neighbors, but its commander, Sir Vladmir, had a well-known alliance with the Zerg Brood, lying in the valleys of the north-eastern mountains.

The Zerg Cerebrate, Loser, had just begun control of the Zerg hordes. Seeing an alliance beneficial, Loser was quick to start trade with its neighbor in Amedaeus. This mutually-beneficial aggrement was viewed with discontent by the two protoss templar commanders in the west, who have never felt comfortable with the close proximity of its "racial enemies." From here, the divide only grew between the two groups. The TerraZerg Alliance was upset by the actions of the nervous Protoss Templar. Small skirmishes began in the islands' center, usually over the pettiest of things, such as imagined insults and territory disputes. Soon after this, a declaration of war was signed. The TerraZerg Alliance of Amedaeus and Loser was at war with the Protoss High Council of Stimmed~Dragoon and Kaiser. This action brought forth on this once peaceful land a shadow of evil, the evil of chaos...

Tendrils of Smoke

Preparations for war began everywhere, a massive build-up of arms and armor. The highly advanced city Amedaeus began construction of a defensive wall below the city, near the mineral expansion. Two barracks and a twin of supply depots blocked of the bottom, defended tirelessly by a duo of bunkers filled with specialized marines. Gauss rifles were at ready, uranium shells loaded with a very real intent to kill, not injure. Seeking to be more advanced than its Protoss combatents, the Terran Senate ordered construction of a Vespene Refinery and a Military Academy to further specialize its infantry. A second Command Center soon followed, beginning another base of operations near the bottom of the cliffs. The Terran Army was in very good shape.

Meanwhile, the Zerg Cerebrate Loser was constructing his massive force of spined Hydralisks, blood-thirsty and loyal to the death to the cause. A trio of sprawling Hatcheries quickly built up the force of reptilian monstrosities, each of which was ready for battle with its grooved spines and fearsome claws. Seeking to further increase the efficiancy of its troops, Cerebrate Loser began construction of twin Evolution Chambers, as well as the upgrades inside. More than a score of the Hydralisks stood gaurd on the cliffs, ready for any action from the Protoss Templar.

The two Protoss Commanders were building for a massive ground attack, each with a trio of Warping Gateways building a massive army of psi-blade armed zealots. The Terran scans seemed to reveal almost indentical bases, other than the insignia painted on the side of the great Nexei. At the edge of the revealed territories, the ComSat revealed the weaving, single-file lines of zealots traveling towards the Terran City Amedaeus. Cast against the lush verdant canvas, the Protoss troops looked like slithering snake, or tendrils of smoke...

Hammer and Anvil

Amedaeus quickly began to prepare for the assault, calling for aid from its Zerg ally. The small opening and the front of the Terran Defensive wall was quickly closed off by a ready floating Engineering Bay, serving only that purpose. Two dozen hydra rushed from the creep to aid its trading partner, but also just for the chance to spill the Protoss blood. score and a half of charging zealots flew across the bridge, seeking to cause as much havok as it possibly could. The air was cut from its silence as the sounds of gunfire erupted from behind the curtain of buildings, cutting into the shields and the armor of the protoss ground troops. The massive army of psi-blade weilding zealots hit the wall with great force, its weapons seeking to cleave the bodies of its enemies but not being able to reach them until the depots and barracks were out of the way. The time granted by this task gave the Terran defenders much needed time until the Zerg reinforcements arrived. Mere seconds later, the great force of hydralisks hit the flank of the protoss troops. The defense plan was in full motion. Every one of the Terran defenders left their bunkers to hit the occupied zealots, closing around the troops with its Zerg allies. The great volleys of Gauss fire and Hydralisk spines cut into the zealots from all sides, simply ripping the troops apart limb by limb. Losses were taken to the TerraZerg Alliance, but those were miniscule compared to the loss of life and soul of the Protoss. The Counter-Defense had worked wonderfully, the Zerg Hammer and the Terran Anvil. Seeking advantage, the counter-offensive began against the Protoss Nexus. More blood would spill today, so much more...

Unlikely Enemy

The tides of battle turned quickly as the Terran and Zerg defenders went on the offense, seeking to spill more of the protoss blood, this time on the forign cities. The march towards the south-western protoss base was completely unchallenged, as the Protoss Commanders were just starting to rebuild. Climbing the low-inclined ramp into City Kaiser, the TerraZerg forces were met with a small defense of a half-dozen zealots, which easily fell to the two score of attackers. Frantic defenses were built, but all fell under the might of Gauss Rifles, Grooved Spines, and Flaming Napalm. Casualties were kept to a minimum by a half-dozen of medics, healing both terran and zerg troops. The translucent essence of Kaiser's Nexus was stifled as the air around it melted under the heat of Firebat Napalm. Still unsatisfied, the TerraZerg forces headed north, towards the base of Stimmed~Dragoon.

Seeing the downfall of his Protoss Compatriant, Templar Dragoon began construction on a forge, seeking to hold the forces at bay. Many photon cannons followed, just as the TerraZerg forces crossed the bridge near the cliffs. The first force of troops of battle-hardened Hydralisks and upgraded Marines and Medics was reinforced by a four fully upgraded, enourmous ultralisks as well as a sextet of magical Science Vessels. The charge came next. The quartet of gigantic Ultralisks was made even stronger by a defensive matrix that was enveloped them. Photon Cannons shot forth plasma matter, but this did little to stop the bulldozing Ultras, which leveled the stationary defenses with just a few gorges from the massive tusks. ElectroMagnetic Pulses shattered the Protoss sheilds, taking away their biggest defensive advantage. The Ultralisks were quickly backed up by the Hydralisk and Marine forces holding up the flanks and rear. Surrender was offered to the overzealous Templar Dragoon, but such a blindingly prideful Protoss would never accept it. Nothing was left of the enemy city, with no survivors or buildings.

The TerraZerg Alliance had thought they had won, so the pull out of troops began, but everything went to hell here. Another enemy had came forth, but this one was unstoppable. Bronze, Gold, and Silver Bengelaas leapt from their hiding spots and ripped apart everything. Nothing could hurt the panther-like creatures, not even the gargantuan Ultralisks. Those massive Zerg were the first to fall. The true rulers of Rivalry came forth from the shadows, seeking only to kill and ravage. Screams could be heard from miles, but in the end, only the howls of victory came forth. The chaos war had ended, and the Anarchic Kings had risen. Long Live the Bengelaas...Long Live Chaos...
