Psi-Storm. Love it or lump it, it's an integral part of the game and a somewhat of a necessity for the Protoss player to even the odds against the cheaper, less expensive units of the Terran forces and the Zerg swarm.
What I am going to bring you today is the first game ever where I learn't the true power of Psionic Storm.
And again, apart from the first jpeg, no pictures.
Its just what I do.

The Setting
I remember the night clearly. It was around midnightish and I think I had Brood War then (or did I? I dunno =o ). Nah I don't think I did, doubt it was out then, but don't qoute me on that. Bah.
Looking for a late night game with some b.net buds, I got paired up with the venerable Garn~Gizza and he hosted up a public 2v2 game.
The Challengers
Some 2 random wierdos joined, one's name was something to do with Stimpack[random clan thing here] and the other's name was something like Assf!@ked Ramses. In all honesty, it could have been Amazonion Ranger or Apple Ripple or something. I forgot. For all purposes and the way he acted, he will be refered to as Assfucked Ramses.
The Setting
After Assfucked Ramses declared no rush 20 minutes, the game was on, me and Garn choosing Protoss, the others Zerg and Terran. The map was the Hunters.
And on the first day...God cloned his Probes
Scouting with a Probe and going for the 1 gate early tech rush up to Reavers, I found Zerg in the 6 o'clock position and the Terran next to him in the 5 o'clock position. I was in the 8 o'clock position and Garn at 3. Garn was going for a double early expansion - to his natural and one to the natural above it.
For those of you who care, Assfucked Ramses was Zerg and the Terran was Stimpact[PQ or something]
Losers Exposed
I had just 1/2 finished my Cybernetics Core when a horde of lings ran my way. I looked at the clock - 3 minutes!!! Wtfing hell? This game being from quite a while and ago and me not fully mature (in more ways than one), I started yelling and cussing at the Zerg 'retard' for breaking the '20 minute no rush' that HE had suggested. Then the marines came in and soon it became all out slaughterhouse with me getting the beatings.
Defiance against the odds
Sneaking out a Probe, I ran into Garn's base and set up a Pylon and Nexus in order to rebuild my tech tree. I had just started to warp in a Pylon when a Marine wandered in and started to hammer on the natural Nexus, before his buddies from Homieville and Zergland came in and started tearing shit up. Running my lone Probe away, I ran back to my old base (Garn figured they would look there last) and built a Nexus and a Pylon and Gateway. Garn soon joined me and added a Nexus and Pylon.
I am the Jackass...
Previously before this, I had HATED Templar and Psi-storm. Probably as I had absolutely no skillz and could never aim one for shit. Once I had attempted a driveby storming which I had read in one of Whoop's reports a LONG time ago. Well, I got the lone Templar out, waited 5 seconds for him to recharge so I can let off one :P and pulled out the Storm...on the Nexus :P True story.
Anyway, I decided with the beating I was getting, I might as well go straight Temps, especially since I had a bazillion gas because of the strat I chose to go for before I got raped. *note: I was originally intending to go mass Archons, but I got all the Templar upgrades anyway :D I even for +2 attack for my High Templars =]
Me and You
Pumping Templar out of an astonishing ONE gateway, I soon got around 8 with all upgrades :D Garn had also ammassed a significant amount of Dragoons with no upgrades.
Sending a Probe out to the choke point, I found it filled with 4 Bunkers, a Barracks and a Factory being built, as well as an ASS load of Marines, lings and Hydra.
The Battle Begins
Hallucinating an Archon which I had merged, I sent the blue devils out to draw fire. As soon as I ran away with them, he UNLOADED his bunkers and started to advance on our humble outpost. Then before I knew it, I clicked Psi-Storm (hey, it was all new to me :P) and crackle crackle, the Marines were all dead. I couldn't believe it. They died so quick and effortlessly, like a hot knife through butter. And it felt gooood, almost orgasmic.
We were going to show these chobofuckers a lesson.
Crackle, and the lone SCV making the Factory was no more (gimme a break, I was on a high :P)
Crackle, more Marine deaths against the Confederacy.
Then Garn's self proclaimed Dragoons of the Round charged in and started to tear up the random Zerg shit. The perfect buffer for everyone's favourite spell...
This is how we party...
Breaking open this little eggshell that had held us in, we paid back our dues to these assholes who tricked us with their '20 minute no rush bullshit'.
Funny, because we started our attacking push after 20 minutes, so we wern't breaking any of their 'rules'. Going for the closest, which was Zerg, the Dragoons bent this guy over and gave him a jacking. I stormed a lot of lings that day, and the first time I ever got a thrill from burning up Marines. Yes, I admit it, I used to get my ass kicked by Marines. Shut up fool :(
After the words Assfucked Ramses was eliminated floated across the screen, Stimpact immediately gave up, but not before throwing some choice swears at our general direction. End scores were won by Garn with his almighty razing, but my unit kills were more than 9x any other. And these guys killed a LOT of Probes between them.
Epilogue
After this game, I have NEVER not gotten a Templar if I could whenever I played Protoss, and it has worked out fine. Psionic Storm gives the edge for the Protoss against sheer numbers and unless you get attacked by defence matrixed cracklings, it will serve you fine. A lil bit of micro for a lotta damage is a big plus in any book.
