Lifetime Rating for Mellinium_Ben21: 4.8182 |  | You walk out of the barracks and look around.You walk up to a marine sergant and asked for orders."Head down to the "fire chain" and get into a bunker."He orders you.You shake your head and make the mile long walk down the hill.A month ago the Zerg arrived here.Slaughtered the local establishements.Set up a hive cluster.Now you,the last of a local town,have joined the force sent to stop them.Sure you expected to be treated like a high ranking hero for surviving the first month of their siege.But then you ask yourself "Why did I think I`d be promoted to a colonel instantly?".You walk up inside the bunker and key in the flame thrower turret.A trio of marines,all of them new,sit beside you.
"Who`re you?"They ask.You don`t reply.Instead you peer out the window.Off in the distance you see a small dust cloud.You tell everyone to get ready for the worst as you peer through some binoculars."Shit."You say before ordering a marine to alert the rest of the chain.He barely gets off the call as an incredibley large group of Zerglings swarm the front lines of the chain.You hit the trigger and laugh with glee as dozens are cooked alive in seconds.Your fellow marines start screaming Fuck at the top of their lungs.You turn to see a Zergling has snuck into the bunker."FUCK!" You scream as it jumps toward you.You duck and deliver an uppercut with your knife into the creature`s throat before throwing it`s lifeless body out the window.A medic runs for the door to your bunker,being chased by a pack of Zerglings.You have a marine pull double duty and yank the door open.She jumps inside,still being trailing by `lings.You stand in the door and hit the stim pack trigger in your palm.You scream in pleasure as the stim enters your vains.The pack gets to within range only to get burned alive by your arm mounted flame throwers.
The medic behind you struggles with the door,trying to close it.You begin to return to normal and realize you have to shut the door before the stim wears off.You duck behind it and slam it shut,the lock automaticly coming down.The medic heals you and takes the radio.She screams over it for fire support from any seige tanks.The only thing you hear from the radio is static.You check the wall to see that the Zergling you impaled earlier had slashed the wire to the radio on top of your bunker.You tell the medic to hold your station and try to repair the damaged wire in the heat of combat. You feel a small jolt in your arms as the radio comes back on-line.You tell the medic to call for help and resume your burning of Zergling flesh.You hear a thundering roar as a dozen high impact artillery shells lands within 30 yards of the bunker,decimating the Zergling ranks.The bombardment does little to stim the tide of Zerg as Hydralisks begin to move in behind the Zerglings.You tell the medic to reach into a small compartment in the center of the bunker floor.She does so and takes out a small box.You tell her to give you a C-14 and then arm herself somehow.She complies and you find yourself sniping off Hydras.Suddenly the bunker begins to shake as Hydras start to return fire.You order everyone to arm with feild weaponry as the walls begin to collapse.You order a retreat as the rubble begins to shatter from spines.The medic heals everyone as the battle continues.You hit stim again and lose your mind for a few seconds while burning a Hydralisk.
The 5 of you make it to the gas drenched trenches.You have everyone get behind the trenches as you make a desperate bid to hold off the ever encroaching swarm.They make it and you leap over.You hear a massive "Get behind the trenches!" order over your helmet radio."All flamers,initiate scorched earth retreat plan."You look over the trenches to see another marine has fallen into the fuel trying to escape a group of Zerglings.You watch as the pursuers tumble in and decide to wait a second.You pull out a pistol and do him a favor by killing him and then set the trenches ablaze.You get thrown back by the burst of near 80 foot high flames and listen to the muffled screams of Zerg.You sit back and relax a moment before wiping the grease off your face and heading for a medic.
You make it to a supply depot before hearing the rattling of a C-14.You look up through the smoke and see a quad (4) of Overlords.One of them sway`s too close to a missile turret and get`s blasted out of the sky.You struggle to get back to your feet as blood splatters all over you with such force it knock`s you back down.A Hydralisk corpse lands next to you with a thud.The remaining Overlords spew off their deadly cargo before getting blasted by the marines and turrets.The twelve Hydralisks land on top of the medical supply depot and duck inside.You cover your ears as muffled screams of terror and agony echo from the walls.The Hydras explode out of a wall,mouths dripping with human blood.You watch in utter horror as a marine gets mangled by a Hydra`s left "arm claw".You decide to close in and stim.The Hydras aren`t paying attention to your rapid approach and pay for it.One of them screams in agony as you burn it alive from behind.Another feels the heat and turns to face you but kills it`s brother by mistake.You cut behind it and then shoot a lethal salvo of fire point blank into it`s mouth.
It`s head explodes and you count ten left.A shockwave rattles you as you get thrown for a 150 yards before crashing through a wall.You thank God (or whatever religion the current reader is into,I myself am athiest :P) for your armor`s kinetic webbing as you bounce off from the impact unscathed.The Hydras aren`t as lucky.Only one survives as it gets thrown above you.You see it coming,duck and aim straight up before unleashing a burst of fire into it.The flaming Hydra make`s the final mistake and falls into the gasoline fuelled trench fires.You watch in relief as it stops moving and gets devoured by the flames.
The Zerg finally begin to fall back as air support comes.You sigh in exhaustion and relief before falling asleep in a crater.Your first day was pretty exciting.Wonder what will come tomarrow? |
