Well, it started off on Wednesday night, when i had a feel to write up a battle report. I went to the ever so popular Clan -X17 and found myself a 1on1 to obs to get me started on reporting. Little did i know my friend, The~T-1000000 was asking for a 1on1. I whispered him and asked if he liked a br to be posted on br.com, and he agreed. A few minutes past, spam was goin no as usual...and then he found a game, vs., yes, Regis[&]CathyL....and so the game begun:

The~T-1000000

VS.

Regis[&]CathyL.

As i didn't know br.com could only support (ask) for a max. of 5 pics, i tried my best to show you the most of the game. Don't laugh :P

T1 and Regis[&]CathyL. both randomed races. As i hit 'ok', and a few seconds later, i soon realized T1 was Terran at 9 o'clock and RC spawned Zerg at the 6 o'clock position on the map.

T1 built an addition 4 SCV's along with his starting 4, and scurried an SCV to his ramp to begin a depot. My guess was that it was his safest bet to wall-in vs. a random raced opponent. Immediately after his Supply Depot had finished, T1 began his Barracks, on the other side of the ramp. Almost completing his wall-in, he went for a Refinery for some quick Vaspene before he made his 2nd Depot to block his entrance off. Noticing the orange colored Overlord hovering over his Command Center, he realized his opponent was Zerg. T1 sent an SCV out of his base and headed towards 6 o'clock to scout Zerg's production.

As we shift over the BR to RC's
direction...he went for a quick Overlord on 9 Drones, followed it with 3 more addition Drones to make a total of 12, and sent his newly spawned 12th Drone to his 2nd natural (6mineral patches), and surely morphed his Drone into his 2nd Hatchery. He spawned another Drone, back to 12, and after it hatched, it was sent to morph a Spawning Pool.

knew that it would best be smart to train a few Marines, just to invade a Zergling rush. T1's SCV quickly found the morphing Hatchery at RC's 2nd natural, and after inflicting 15-30 damage to the Hatchery, T1's SCV commenced on constructing a Bunker right next to the Hatchery.

Just as T1's Bunker had finished construction, he quickly sent his new Marine to enter it. Slowly it started making it's way to the targeted area. Although, RC had saved his 3 Larvae from his 1st Hatchery, knowing he'd need them to stop the Bunker attack. As the bunker reached the 350HP line, RC's Spawning Pool had spawned, and the 3 Larvae were morphed into 6 desired Zerglings to stop the overthrow...--The Zerglings were made and sent to RC's 2nd natural, to blast away the Bunker. Upon inflicting 5 by 5 by 5 by 5, etc. damage, the Marine finally reached it's destination, and was then massacred. :P

Although that didn't mean the game to T1. T1 was well on his way making a Factory with the Machine Shop Add-On, plus a StarPort nearing it's grand opening. The StarPort was built, and the light's immediately went flashing (Wraith was being built). And just a few seconds after, the Machine Shop's thingy started moving (Seige Tank Tech). As long as it took the Wraith to produce, it zoomed out to hunt...yes...Overlord Hunt.

And, surely, it had a blast hunting 4 Overlords: 1 Below T1's main base ledge, 1 in RC's main base, 1 flying around on the map, and the last at RC's 2nd natural. There was 1 more Overlord T1 could pop, but he realized 2 Creep Colonies were being morphed to Spore Colonies, so he didn't take the risk.

RC a little behind in production, quickly sent up 3-4 Spores between his 2nd natural and his main to protect his remade Overlords and important structures.

The game was moving quite calmly, but as T1 took a mighty leap to his lower ledge under his main, he constructed a simple yet very decent outpost, consisting of 3 Tanks overhead on his base high ledge, 2 Turrets, 1 Bunker with a few Marines and Medics loitering, and 1 Tank on the low cliff getting ready to blast off RC's structures at his main.

Having the experience of expressing this strategy vs. a Zerg as a Terran before...i had the right estimate was to what T1 would do and how to handle a counter at either his main front, or straight up vs. the outpost. T1 heavily guarded his mini outpost, adding more Tanks as they were built, and constructing another Bunker, with a new ship-load of Marines and Medics to heal if needed.

RC seemed a little confused, but had no way to stop such a push. He had 20-25 Hydralisks...without the speed upgrade, and vs. 4 Tanks and 2 Bunkers, it would be a worthless attack just to save his main building(s) to go down. I then noticed RC's transport sacs were evolved, and slowly started loading up his Overlords with Zerglings and Hydralisks. My guess was that he would drop on T1's backdoor, and i was right, he did. Although he didn't for a little bit...

T1 decided to quickly expand, as he needed the minerals and the extra gas. With the single Bunker at his 1st natural, the Turret, and the 4 Tanks, he was confident with his front defense. And so, he progressed with training numerous Marines and Medics, and constructing Science Vessels and Seige Tanks. Quickly scanning other natural areas of the map, T1 noticed...

RC then expanded many times at the 3 o'clock position, the 3 o'clock 1st natural, and even finally, his own 1st natural. Unfortunately, a few minutes after they were made, T1 used his Scans from his 2 Comsat Stations, and found the up-running bases. T1, without a second to lose, loaded up his 2 Dropships with Marines and Medics, and brought along his 1 Science Vessel to the 3 o'clock position to take out the extra Hatcheries. He quickly made work of the Hatcheries and moved along, and finally came down to the final base that RC had left, and commenced bunkering with Bunkers, Marines and Medics, SCV Buildings, and Seige Tanks.

Back to the idea of the backdoor drop, right before commencing the actual 'drop', T1's lone Wraith saw the 5 Overlords sneaking by on the very left edge of the map. He then quickly reacted, stimming his 12 Marines (As it seemed), and with the additional help of the Tanks from the outpost, the drop was not very effective thru his backdoor.

RC and T1 seemed like they both had lots of fun. They smiled and both announced a 'gg'.

Final Thoughts:
I thought that this was a pretty fun match to play.
I think that if RC had 5-10 more drones mining altogether at his 2nd natural and his main, he would have had a fairly better economy.
As for T1, i pretty much watched him 80% of the game, and a few things i spotted that were helpful to himself were the organized way his structures were setup, and also his defense. (Example: Depots were lined up as a well by his Command Center to stop Lurker invadement.)
Overall, it was a fun match, i compliment both players on a good job, and that's about it. Thanx for reading...(If you're still awake)... :P
