| A pretty sad battle | | | Author: | | | IP: | palo1.paXXXX | | Date: | 04/28/00 05:04 | | Game Type: | Starcraft | | Labels: | none | | Report Rating: , # of Ratings: 1, Max: 3, Min: 3 Lifetime Rating for AA)Takashi: 3.0000 | | Let me start from the beginning to explain why I chose such a lousy battle for my
first battle report, possibly barring any attempt at getting good reports later.
Now the truth is, I've been trying to get into building battle reports for a while, but every single time I asked if I could observe a game, I got booted out. (if you're not going to play, why should I keep you in?)
So today I finally gave up all hope of being able to observe in other people's games and decided to build my own game.
Of course, as you can imagine, absolutely noone came. Thus, after creating my last game, when someone finally came, I figured that was the best I was going to get and decided to do a battle.report on a 1:1, me vs. that player, who shall nameless, as it may cause people to look down upon that person.
The map I chose (as I forgot to mention earlier) was Diablo, and I ended up in the bottom position. This battle only lasted about 6 minutes, and, as such, I have no idea where the other player ever started at. I ended up as Terran, while my opponent was Protoss.
My build order, as usual, may be considered unusual. (possibly, as I don't see it
used very much) I start with Barracks, Supply, Supply, Refinery, Academy,
Factory. I like this build order because it keeps the opponent guessing on what I'm
doing.
While the Factory was being built, I began barricading the choke point to the north
of my base. However, I ended up completely messing up that choke, with the newly
built Barracks taking up half of the choke, I found I didn't have room for the supply
depots.
Deciding that now was the right time to scout, I sent an SCV to the east of my
base. However, then I ended up getting the feared message:
Waiting for player:
So, after waiting 3 minutes, I finally gave up any hope of the person recovering and
pressed the drop command.
Yep, pretty sad, I know. Unfortunatly, I couldn't get into any other games
afterwards. Thus, sadly, this was the best game I got into.
Lessons Learned:
1) It's hard to observe a game if you're not well known.
2) It's even harder to observe a game if you're not well known and live in Singapore.
3) It is, sadly, easier to get people to join a Hunters game than the map "Diablo". |
