PLAYERS: 1.Black-Hearted is a very good friend of mine and we play a lot of 2v2's together. He thinks I own him and I think we are pretty equal. I think I'm right :).
2.I do not know much about ArchMage-Danny, but I know he is no newbie. My hypothesis is obviously in Black-Hearted's favor since he is probably my best b.net friend and is very good.
Both players went random, Black-Hearted got protoss and ArchMage-Danny turned out terran. Black-Hearted was obviously heading for a reaver drop with only 1 gateway and early gas. However, Archmage-Danny scouted early, realized Black-Hearted was protoss and knew that marines wouldn't do much good. Therefore, he got a very fast refinery and worked his way towards tanks and vultures it seemed. However, his plans changed when he scanned out an early robotics support bay of Black's. He prepared for a reaver drop, and when it occured, the fight was very brief.
"First Blood"
Danny decided to pop out 2 starports and begin building dropships, obviously preparing for a drop on Black-Hearted's northwest expansion, newly found by ArchMage-Danny. He loaded up 2 tanks and 4 vultures and unloaded the force on the outside ledge of the island. The tanks did good by killing some reachable probes, but the back-up stormers that Black quickly transported from his main resisted the attack, and the nexus lived. Although Danny managed to blow up a few probes and damage the nexus, the drop was not much of a success. However, this offensive move did give some breathing room for Archmage-Danny to expand to his nearest natural and the island on the southeast side of the map.
"Retaliation"
After these few unsuccessful scirmages, both players decided to go for the costly units. Black-Hearted's production of carriers began simultaneous to Danny's production of a physic's lab and battlecruisers. Once Black-Hearted had prepared a fleet of 5 carriers, he figured he would do some damage at Danny's new island expansion. He very quickly ravaged the command center and the pathetic defense at the expansion, but atleast 6 battlecruisers came and made very quick work of the carriers with higher upgrades and yamoto gun.
"Carrier Slaughter"
Danny knew that he could not inflict much damage on the tough protoss' expansions yet, so he decided to make a fleet of roughly 11 battlecruisers. He was obviously headed towards Black-Hearted's old income on the northwest island, instead of Black-Hearted's new source of income at the south main. This was because of the 2 templar and cannons at the south main and the very light defense on the island expansion. Therefore, he reached the expansion and ravaged the place like he owned Black-Hearted. Black-Hearted was only able to severely damage most of the battlecruisers with a few storms, but unable to kill any due to his shortage of scouts and upgrades.
"Battlecruisers OWN"
Danny knows that he must quickly defeat his opponent or it will turn into a much longer game, as he has air superiority for the moment. Therefore, he goes by his main for a quick repair-run and quickly heads to Black-Hearted's last expansion at the main of the middle-bottom part of the map. The battle is short-lived, however, because the overwhelming battlecruisers prove that Black-Hearted's lightly upgraded scouts and few templar are only good enough to kill a small chunk of the army. Black-Hearted, realizing that his only chance is to build up a large force of templar and scouts very quickly to save his main, begins immediately. The first attack on Black-Hearted's main is ravaged by newly built scouts, dragoons and templar; however, Danny's newly built battlecruisers overwhelm Black-Hearted and Black-Hearted withdraws from the game.
