"Finally, Jpaikman is left with one solitary outpost, much like Berlin at the close of the Second World War. Sadly, Berlin gets hopelessly raped by Guardians from the South and white cruisers from the North." -|]agomar

| 1v1 ladder, Zerg(me) vs. Protoss(be_my_valentine), map Lost Temple | | | Author: | | | IP: | XXXX | | Date: | 05/08/99 06:05 | | Game Type: | Starcraft | | Labels: | Starcraft(1), Text Only(1) | | Report Rating: , # of Ratings: 1, Max: 5, Min: 5 Lifetime Rating for Poeir: 4.5000 | | The game started off with me at the bottom, him(I assume him, anyway) at the top. I began by cloning my Drones, of course, and then built another while sending out my Overlord to the 3:00 position, setting both on hotkeys. Gradually, I built up to seven Drones, using one of these to build a Spawning Pool, replacing the Drone soon afterwards. By this time, my Overlord had reached the starting point, finding nothing. I brought it back for safekeeping.
Once the Spawning Pool finished, I built the obligatory six Zerglings, sending two out to scout the other two starting points. At this point, I realized I had 30 minerals, and expanded to my natural, and kept the other four Zerglings there for defense, while building an Extractor. Soon afterwards, one Zergling located the Protoss at the top of the map. It had run into a bunch of Cannons, so I assumed he'd build Corsairs and go Overlord hunting, or tech to Carriers. Due to this, I decided to try to build Scourge and Queens, planning to use Ensnare to hold down any Corsairs. At this point, Carriers seemed to be unrealistic. I also realized I needed map domination, to be my playing style for the rest of the day.
Anyway, I upgrade to Lair, building more Drones everywhere, and another expansion at the 9:00 spot, deciding 3:00 would be too risky. This turned out to be a lifesaver later on.
There's not much to tell here, as I took every expansion except the two islands, eventually researching Ventral Sacs at Hive level. No skirmishes took place the entire time, allowing me to tech to Defilers, which were surprisingly unhelpful. I did put some Queens and Ensnare together, however, when the attack of three Carriers came, neatly destroying my unfinished Spire.
Realizing my main could not possibly be saved, I started using the 9:00 as a main, building a Spire there. Once it finished, I build Scourge at three Hatcheries, later cloning them to take out all three Carriers. One battle for me, but it was only the first of many.
Thankfully, by this time, I had every gas expansion except his natural, and considered taking a mineral as well, but decided against it. Every single Hatchery built Scourge then, which consistently destroyed over two dozen Carriers! That's total, not all at once, of course. :)
Eventually, I took out his mineral-only expansion using half a dozen Ultralisks and Dark Swarm Realizing I had WAY too many minerals (I think around 20000...), I built four Hatcheries from the 3:00 mineral-only expansion going westward. These were intended to build constant units of ANYTHING, I didn't care what, really, figuring he wouldn't be that hard to overrun.
I turned out to be nearly dead wrong. He noticed this, and had I not built so many Hatcheries, might have lost. At this point, a slowdown became such that it looked like my Metabolic-Boosted Zerglings would lose a race to a Reaver. Eventually, after fighting V-E-R-Y s-l-o-w-l-y with Mutalisks, Devourers, Hydralisks, Scourge, Ultralisks (well, more to absorb damage), Defilers, and Queens against his Carriers and Arbiter, I attempted to convince him to surrender due to the agonizing slowdown. He declined the first time, and the second (as another assualt was defeated, just like the last one), and the third (with the same happening), but he finally did surrender due to it and his inability to kill my units faster than I could make them.
Ultimately, I did win, but Battle.net didn't count it! AUGH!
