Intro
Txt sorry!!
HIHI!! Well it all started off as I was getting bored of all the strategy talks and the Diablo II hype, so I took to a ugh I can't bring myself to say it. It starts with an "L" and ends with a "adder on B-Net". So now if you can guess what this game is gonna be talkin about, we can get on to the game. I joined a game called "1010+++++++++++++" or something like that. I said to myself "Hrmm 1010? Too good for me, but I'll try it!". I joined as someone was getting banned. I hadn't played a ladder game so far during the new season, so I was unrated. I didn't bother to "/stats" cuz as soon as I came in, I heard the familiar beeps, signaling that the game was starting. I quickly jumped at my mouse, eager to pick Protoss (a race I'm practicing with) at the last second. I got it just in time. Relieved, I put my left index finger on the key "P" and my left pinky on "Shift" making sure I cloned correctly. Finally, after 5 long seconds of waiting, the game started. I saw him pick Protoss at the last second as well.
Phase 1: Get to Dragoon tech without dying (Starting build order)
Map: Lost temple
Starting Spots: Me ([{o}]): Left
OtherGuy (forgot his name): Right
Colors: Me: Brown
OtherGuy: Purple
After reading all those AQD3/Mark4 battlereports, you gotta get influenced just a bit. My 8th midget worker made my base pylon. A gateway follwed that on my 11th probe. I think this right, but I'm not sure. Readers, if you find anything absolutely weird and not right, plz say what I should of done in the comment section. Remember, I am what you people would call a "newbie" after all. Another gateway followed my first on my 12th probe. Then came gas, on 14, I think. I scouted bottom first, with the probe that made my first pylon. He wasn't there, so I checked the right starting spot. BINGO!! "Found Protoss loser guy warping in 3 gateways" said my idiot slave err... worker. I responded with a "Shut the hell up and get back here you stupid idiot!" much like I would say to _KroNe_. Well anyways, he did come back, immediatley going back to his normal life of gathering minerals. Thinking of Zileas and all his followers that do decent in PVP, I aimed for a hell lot of reaver and goon containment and expand like a madman. I got the Cybernetics Core right after my first two zealots. I add these guys in to protect against any cheese rush. As they Cybernetics Core warped in, more probes were made. When the Core finally finished, I promptly built 2 dragoons, the first of many. "Phase 1: Get to Dragoon tech without dying" was completed.
Phase 2: Deny expansions
I thought I was in trouble. My Robotics Facility arrived late, as usual. As soon as that was done, I remembered about those cheesy assholes called DT. I quickly made a Forge and an Observatory, for recon and cloak/drop protection. It proved useful because my obsever found that OtherGuy was making mass zealots from what my faithful observer saw. Then I went further up. I was met by cannon blasts that I quickly dodged out of range. Then, I went around his base, hoping I could take a little more of a peek. What I found was 2 Robotics Facilities, one just warping in. "You're supposed to have two?!?!?" I said to myself. Not to be outdone by a mere 1010, I built my own second Robotics Facility. During all this, of course I was pumping probes dragoons galore. I quickly sent my observer back, knowing his own would come very soon. My observer was sent to the top starting spot, so I could keep an eye out for any enemy expansions. What I found there shocked me. Already an expansion. "OH CRAPSHITSMOFODAMN" I said talking to no one but myself (mebbe I was talking to the screen, oh well). Luckily I had a reaver popping out of the Robo Fac as well as a shuttle from my second. That let me drop his monkey toss expander guy sucks to hell. A lone reaver, backed up by two zealots, met up with two enemy zealots. Of course my force won, having 1/0/0 upgrades to his 0/0/0. Plus I had a reaver on my side. He replied to my actions with a "WTH YOU HACK" and left. Hehe just kidding. He said "MOFO" and ran all his probes away, leaving a ripe Nexus to destroy. And destroy I did. "Phase 2: Deny expansions" was complete.
Phase 3: Expand
I knew I had to expand. It had to come fast also. I layed off the production of goons for a second to accumulate the 400 minerals needed for a nexus. Meanwhile, I had some supply problems. All the time, I forgot to make a pylon when I needed. This slowed me down considerably. Well when my Nexus started, I knew I would need pylons for the probes to come. So I made 2 pylons to last me for the next few minutes. I then resumed my goon production, throwing in a reaver or a observer and sometimes a zealot at times. My Nexus finally finished. After watching gosu Talon, I picked up a few things. I liked his wall-in technique with like a million cannons and a gateway. I didn't feel like using shuttles to get my units out of my base due to the wall-in so I made half a million cannons and a gateway, leaving a space so units could flow freely from inside to outside and vice versa. Since my expansion was secured, "Phase 3: Expand" was complete.
Phase 4: Contain
Containment... The thing I was aiming for all this time. My 2 control groups of goons, followed by two upgraded shuttles with 3 reavers and 2 zealots rumbled down to the mineral only of OtherGuy's base. Hoping he played like shit so I could get some wins, I dropped my reavers down and aimed at the two zealots just in my sight range. Dragoons backed my reavers up as legions of zealots came charging, thirsty for revenge of the killing of Bill and Bob, the two zealots I aimed for. Too lazy to wait, I attacked full force, forgetting all about my plan of containment and expanding. I liked what I saw, my 2/0/0 goons against his 1/0/0 and reaver back up, was winning. All that was left was cannons that my reaver could easily take out..... and the 24 goons that layed behind them. "DOH!!!!!" I say to my screen. "Why do I have to be so stupid." I go back to my main, calling up many more goons, afraid of his rebound attack. Luckily, I kept an observer there, to see if any attacks would come, and none did. I was relieved and happy that I had almost killed his base and put him on the defensive. I got a Templar Archives, just in case. Although "Phase 4: Contain" had failed, I had a comeback on my mind.
Phase 5: Survive any attacks and hold the expansions
I didn't know what to do anymore but this. I'm not used to taking it this late. So I did the only thing I could do. Follow my instincts. More goons/reaver came and I started a Stargate. Thinking I needed another expansion to support all three techs, I built one at my mineral only natural. He didn't notice, all was good. Two more gateways went up. I was happy. It looked like I was gonna win! Feeling daring, one more expansion was started. Top left island this time. Two templar, 2 goons, a zealot and a probe were the expanding team at the island. My main was dry so I split the idle probes up into two groups. Half at my natural and half at my mineral only. Goons kept pouring out of my gateways. And then it hit me. 5 shuttles of doom came and dropped tons of zealots, reavers and DT. "OMFG" I type. 4 templar I had lying around did their best to storm my way to safety. To no luck. Half of the zealots were left. Luckily the reavers had died to storm though. But DT were still tearing up my cannons and zealots were doing horrors to my other buildings. So I did the only thing I could do. Bring those clunky, fat, clumsy things up here to help. Yes the dragoons. But when they have good position, they are pretty reliable. My goons tore up the zealots and DT with the help of an observer. "HOLY MAMA CRAP SHITS I SURVIVED!!!" I type. The response is "STFU". Oh well. Who can blame him? "Phase 5: Survive any attacks and hold the expansions" passed with flying colors.
Instinct
Aww crud. I still dunno what to do. I decided to follow my instinct some more. Staying with the dragoons and the reavers but adding in some spice and as Emeril would say, "BAM!!!" 4 High Templar accompany my 3 control of goons. 4 Reavers in shuttle tagged along. My now 2/2/2 goons busted open the choke, which was heavily defended by cannons and goons. My reavers took out both cannons and goons stayed behind to protect the reavers from any harm. He survived however, because I had forgotten to haul an observer to the battle as DT slashed away at my reavers first, then my goons. But I had killed all the units I could see, not to mention about 4 Photon Cannons. However I had lost all my units too.
Instinct Part II
Hah! Yes I am good. Taking both islands and a starting spot. The starting spot would be on the bottom. Maynarding probes like heck. I might WIN!!!~!!! I put up many gateways, 12 to be exact. Time to act like Whoop hehe. This was gonna be fun. I had as much power as a powering zerg. Mass zealots came out, wearing Nikes of course (leg upgrade). As soon as I got 4 control groups of hotkeyed zeals, I said "CHARGE!!!" and sent em all to OtherGuy's base. No scouts means no surviving. My zeals tore cannons into shreds and made his 1/1/1 goons look like bunnies in a cage. My zeals rushed through the killing of the choke then ran up the ramp. I waited for my reavers in shuttles to come. Yea I love overkill. "HAHAHA I WON!!! Charge!!!!" I say. Thats when I see a cloud of blue in my base. "WTH is that?" I think to myself. I see an arbiter. I say "Oh shit". But he has no expansions. I turned his base to mashed potatoes with a side of probe meat. GGs were exchanged. I gave him vision, and he disced. Hehe just kidding. He didn't disc. What kinda fool would do that? He double disc. I take a shower, go out for dinner and check back to my comp. He's still there... Heck!! Just a ladder game. I disc myself and him and I go out with a sucky ladder rating. Oh well, all is good. I had fun at least!
Winner: ME!!!! FWHAHAHAH
