This guy had one strike against him. I wanted to have a good friendly game and someone to take screen shots. It turns out I got the screenshots at the cost of my concentration, which made the game longer than it should have. At least I have more to write about.

Lurkers? Whatever.

This game was an optimal start for zerg. Quick find at my 10 control. I was using a 9 rax opening, and was hoping for him to rush me. SCVs are meaty, and if you have good unit control with 1 marine, you can survive with minimal losses. And you also get game control as well, which is 'game over' at high levels of play. I was glad I scouted and found me, 'cause I didn't want him to have any excuses when I kicked his bitch ass.

Second rax came online, and I got some scouting information courtsey of Deon Peon. Sadly, Deon Peon died, but gave me valuable info.

My initial plan of attack is to probe a little. If he leaves any openings at his base, I'm going to win right there. Turns out he was well covered. Good for him. I camped out at his ramp and just passed time.

But my economy was humming. The correct path is to get academy, then refinery. The first thing you do with gas is to research stim. No medics until then. When you do get available gas after that, medics are the next priority. Your guys feet are gonna get cut up a little with this strat. Marines are always loaded for bear, and get nicked once in awhile.

So he got his lurkers. 4-5 of em. Good for him. He encroached on the marines at his ramp and burrowed. I got some free shots in, then ran a little. Then he moved in. More free shots. I moved out. See a trend? This happened roughly 6 times on the way to my base. I lost 4 marines, but capped 2 lurkers (got stim as i was dancing, and I just had to use it). The other two marines got cut a little, but it was just a scratch. So he's down to 3 lurkers, and I'm down to roughly 8 marines as a harassment force. I'm laughing all the way to the bank. Why? Because I was building little redneck marines during the entire time.

So the lurkers would have it easy if they made it up the ramp. But they didn't. That burrow/unburrow game we played allowed me the ultimate pleaure of static emplaced defenses (bunkers and turrets). My marines were kicking back brewskies as the lurkers approached.

And then I stim sobered them up enough to kill a lurker as it burrowed on the ramp [Sober up, Cletus!]. I think a lurker head would make a good trophy.

So I had defense, a roaring economy, troops, expansion on the way. You can't get much better than that.

So, you want to know what happend next? Read the next part... I blame the next section on having my concentration taken up by taking screen shots.
