Pre-Introduction
This is my first battle report. I've tried writing several times before but unfortunate circumstances have prevented them from being finished. Unlike some of those garbage writers who say "don't criticize me because this is my first time", I'm saying, PLEASE criticize me. I need your input in order to get any good at this.
Introduction
I'm sure everyone's read plenty of battle reports before, and most of the high-quality reports are made about the high profile players. You know, the ones who hang out in Clan -x17 or the Tao server on Kali.. the ones who get interviewed or stalked by wannabe lamer fans... the ones who can say korean words without getting insulted for it.. You know who I'm talking about. The thing is, most of us here who read this interviews aren't even as close to as good as these guys and never will be. So, I'm presenting a battle report by an average joe, for an average joe, about 2 average joes. (Besides, there's no way I'd ever get a shot to BR any big shots out there :/) Without further adieu, I present to you...
The Battle of the Schmucks!
In the beginning...
I decided it was about time that I get on b.net (the breeding zone of schmucks worldwide) to play some games with my clanmates. I created a public game and advertised it to my fellow clanmates, and to my dismay, 3 people showed up. THREE. the crappiest number on the planet. We had 3 options: Comps, FFA, or 1v1 with me reporting. These other two fellows, sup19 and 13th|_egion, are two of the better players in our lowly clan, so I decided that I would BR while they duked it out. We decided on that old over-played classic, the Lost Temple. (Hey - at least it ain't BGH. We are shmucks, remember? :P) The game began, the competitors said their 'gg's while I scrambled for a paper and pen to get everything down.
Both players opted to go for random. 13th drew brown terran and started off at 6 while sup received teal zerg at 6. Leej went for a typical academy rush build with an 8 rax, 9 depot, rax, depot, academy build. Sup decided to take a risk which would naturally pay off huge dividends if successful and went for an early expansion at his natural. He built 9 hatch on his multi and a pool on 10. Sup19 sent out a drone in search of 13th, who scouted with his first 2 marines and found sup and his quick multi.
As both built up their forces, Leej had 6 marines and 4 each of bats and medics which sup had a mere 10 lings with a sunken in his base and a sunken at his expansion. 13th also had an e-bay at this time. As Leej prepared to send in his assault, sup snuck a zling near his opponent's ramp and saw Leej's units begin to leave his base. They killed the ling and proceeded. The rush was stopped by sup without incident, losing most of his lings, but having home field advantage allowed him to pump out some more lings to support and save him.
During the rush attempt by 13th (which might have succeeded if he wasn't so hasty. I know first-hand, I've fallen victim to his acad rushes on numerous occasions.), sup began to tech up fast. He already had his lair and was building a queen's nest and spire, and soon after began teching to hive. It was obvious what his plan was - muties, and fast. 13th discovered his master plan through a wonderful invention known as the comsat, so he began preparing by teching to goliaths with a factory, machine shop and armory, most likely in anticipation of guardians/devos to follow.
Sup then assaulted with a force
of 8 mutalisks.

Sup19 expertly used dodge and jab tactics with the muties to kill whatever he could with as little loss as possible, but turrets and goliaths made the mutalisks fall eventually with minimal losses to the terran force. Naturally, by attacking, it bought him some time to begin to tech up to greater spire and the deadly combination of guardians and devourers. He continued to churn out muties to morph shortly. As well, the attacks have forced 13th|_egion to suffice without taking his natural expansion, until now. He opted to build his CC directly at the expansion point as opposed to building it within his base then floating it. Luckily, sup was in a tech phase or it would have likely been destroyed during construction. By the time 13th's expansion has finished, Sup19 had amassed a force of 6 guardians and 4 devourers while 13th had a substantially weaker force of 4 goliaths, infantry, turrets, and a lone valkyrie.

Due to poor micromanagement by sup19 and the home field advantage, the guards went down while 3 slightly wounded devos retreated to just outside the base, out of harm's way, but not without significantly causing damage while more gollies were being built.
Then, sup did a kind of peculiar move which caught me offguard. It didn't really have any major effect on the outcome of the game, but it was weird - he took a strange, hard-to-defend, mineral only expansion near the center of the map on the path between the bases of the two combatants.

He didn't use it as a defensive point or anything, he didn't burrow any lurkers or anything.. There was hardly anything even mining! it was just.. there. Whatever, back to the game.
Now here was the major event of the game. Sup continued his production of guardians. He finished about 8 more and sent them on an offensive at the same point of his other ones. He simply outnumbered the defenses of 13th|_egion which were being battered by constant offensive pressure. Sup was getting careless, though, and poor micro landed his guards in range of turrets, which combined with a few measly valks and goliaths put the guardians down, with a few retreating. The havoc they wreaked was severe, though; the guardians reached the peon line before being taken down, but they brought several scv's down with them and wounded his CC.
13th|_egion then decided to strike while the iron is hot and launched a small counterstrike of infantry and 3 unsieged tanks on sup's bizarre naked expansion. Sup19 kept 2 guardians lurking behind his mineral line (unbeknownst to 13th) which managed to snipe down some of the forces until a wave of 15 hydras swamped in and finished off the weak Terran offensive.

By this point, it was pretty much over. 13th had been kept to one expansion from constant pressure and his resources and unit count were dwindling due to said pressure as well. Sup then decided to take charge and polish off the wounded Terran forces. With a wave of 20 zerglings, 10 hydralisks, and several guardians, sup19 methodically swarmed in destroying 13th's buildings, expansion first, then the guts of his base. By this time, 13th had asked for vision to see exactly what sup had used to bring 13th|_egion to his knees. He conceded then left the game.

And the victor and king Shmuck,
is none other than... SUP19!
