This is a story of two terrans who just couldn't get it up. This game lasted much longer than it should of but it did have its good points, being two well matched opponents who knew what they were doing. So let me bring you the "Slow Ass Shin Dig" staring [F]Cruz and [dls]reaper at Lost Temple.

[dls]reaper transported in at 9:00
[F]Cruz dropped in at the 12:00

Both players began this game with a conservative build order of supply depot, barracks, and then a refinery. And slowly deviated as [F]Cruz built an Academy and [dls]reaper built a factory. [dls]reaper appeared to be going for a heavy metal build as he had a wallin Heart Cutter Style with the classic 3 marines on guard. [F]Cruz wishing to have easy access in and out of the base built a supply depot and a bunker at his ramp so not to impead and troop movement.

[dls]reaper sent a SCV out to scout and gets past the defenses, seeing that no marine has come jumped out the the barraks yet. This SCV manages to cause to give chase with all of his SCVs, for no apparent reason as the SCV that [dls]reaper sent in was doing no damage. The SCV then left the base to stand gaurd at the lower choke of [F]Cruz's base.

The height of this game comes as [dls]reaper scouts with newly constucted vulture (how Heavy Metalish). This Vulture runs to the ramp and retreats due to a bunker. Then the vulture scouts the 12:00 natural finds nothing and is then slaughtered by 3 marines with a medic. [F]Cruz countering the deadly vulture sends 8 marines and 3 medics to attack but [F]Cruz is forced to run due to the wall-in backed by a bunker.

[dls]reaper deciates from the normal heavy metal build, probabally because [F]Cruz is also terran. [dls]reaper builds 2 starports and adds a control tower onto one. Wraiths are now going to be the main course of attack. At 4 wraiths [dls]reaper attacks the peons of [F]Cruz. [dls]reaper is able to deal some damage to [F]Cruz but is forced to retreat as scan and marines kick in.[F]Cruz just finished constuction of his engenerring bay and starts to put up mass turrets to guard from the wraith threat.

From here [dls]reaper decides to play it mighty safe and very slow. A quick strike here or there and then a retreat to repair the damaged wraiths. This tactic give [F]Cruz just enough time to begin an expanse and to get it cleaned up. The top left island is a sign of this as about 5 battles were fought there. Each attempting to set up shop but getting stopped in one way or another. [F]Cruz would drop on [dls]reaper and then [dls]reaper would defend with wraiths and then go back and attack, after the wraiths were repaired of course.

[F]Cruz had a few semi-sucessful drops. 1 in particular pitted 1 marine and a medic against a wraith. The wraith would die just as another was constructed, and [dls]reaper was busy attacking [F]Cruz's new base at his natural. This drop was finally repelled after a lost of about 5 wraiths when the [dls]reaper armada came home to end the threat. At this point [dls]reaper decided wraiths were not going to do the trick. They could kill expansions but with [F]Cruz getting science vessels the wraiths we becoming far less sucessful against the marines and the goliaths. [dls]reaper being the tactical genious he is put added a control tower to his other starport and then techs up to the physics lab. Battle Cruisers are on the way.

[dls]reaper works his way through the main and as he is killing the last turret and going to kill the last CC of [F]Cruz guess what happens. No you were wrong, Waiting for player [dls]reaper, is what happened. The game victor got disconnected before the kill.
