Revenge

This short story takes place 50 years after Starcraft 2 . . . .

A sleek, aesthetic, glimmering purple ship cruised smoothly through interstellar space. The Selerian Battleship "Silencer" slipped unoticed through the void, preparing for hyperspacial travel through the warp point only 10 minutes away.

"Leader, sir, all systems nominal," the Engineer hissed quietly.
"Very well, Darlok, very well. Within a quarter, we should be in the Zimorian System."
"Yes, Leader, so let it be," breathed the slight, light blue humanoid softly into the silence.
"Check Hyperspacial stability," Darosanum, Helmsman, whispered.
"Am doing . . . it appears to be within safety limits. The fighters are all within their bays, as well. Mines have been deployed."
"Good, Darlok."
"But . . . there is a disturbance within the field!"
"What?!"
"Three triangular shapes! They are approaching through the Warp Point! They shall be here in 20 seconds!"
"The Terrrans!" rasped the Helmsman, terrified.
"What Class?"
"Two Victors and - and a Titan!" Darlok screeched, wildly.
"Full reverse!"
"Sir, we cannot hope-"
"Reverse!!"

In the cold realms of space, three massive, triangular forms lumbered majestically, menacingly, out of hyperspace. Each over 9 km long, they loomed ominously over the 400m Selerian craft, casting their deep, dark shadows over its feeble hull.

"What are we to do?" wailed Darlok hopelessly.
"Maximum thrust. Try to reach the Warp Point before they can annialate us. Send a message to the Command Collective."
"It shall be done," spoke Darosanum.
A channel was soon open, and soon the Leader hissed:
"The Terrans have come, and they will want revenge. We must," he paused, sorrowfully, "surrender. We are . . ." and ship shuddered with the first probing attack, "no match before them."

Outside, the pathetically dwarfed alien ship reeled and rocked as it raced forward in a hopeless attempt to escape, wildly venting plasma and streaking rapidly towards the warpoint. The Terran behemoths kept pace with ease, seemingly laughing at their squirming prey. A massive surge of energy heralded the energizing of the tractor beams. With ease they reeled in the writhing enemy battleship, rendering it helpless before the stupendous Terran Blasters.

"We are done for!"
"Indeed, we are. The Terrans will avenge us. We have failed. We have gravely miscalculated. We were fools. And now, we can hope only for Their mercy."
"May Danimoth protect the Collective, forever!"

The Remorseless fired from one of its Tertiary side Cannons. The tremendous streak of blue-white lightning seared across space and sliced terribly through the Alien craft with ease, silencing it forever. All was quiet again.

Eclipsing the eternal stars of space, the Terran leviathans, only part of a massive human fleet, sailed on through the cosmos. This was only the beginning, for the Terrans had never forgiven, and would never forget.
