The game was begun by myself in
NoHunters. I was expecting a normal 1v1 which I could
turn to my evil thematic purposes. I did not in any way
expect to observe a race between the two great cars of
the century, The General Lee and K.I.T.T.. So jump in
through the windows and make sure your car hasn't lost
its voice and lets go!
+Anathem+ begins with an early hatchery at his
natural as Hilbs opts for a double barracks wallin build. Anathem scouts Hilbs with his OL on his first pass and quickly
moves the beast to the cliff of Hilbs' natural when
marines start to appear. Hilbs sends a lone SCV out to scout after his
second barracks is complete and finds a naked hatchery
and a newly morphed spawning pool at Anathem's base. The SCV bravely attacks the single
morphing sunken at Anathem's natural and actually manages to bring its
HP down to 180 before it is impaled. Hilbs has two marines right behind the SCV,
however, but does not manage to destroy the sunken. Hilbs forgoes further offensive moves and masses
his marine army and techs to medics. Anathem is sporting a Lair now as well as a
Hydralisk den. Two sunkens stand poised and ready at his
expansion for defense. Hilbs has massed 12+ marines with medic escort at
his choke and moves them out towards the Zerg's base.
Scan and a factory simultaneously go up at Hilbs main as his marines march; lurkers cannot
be forgotten. Building scan proved to be a wise move as
his scout marine explodes as he enters the natural.
Hilbs feels confident with his force, however, as
he stims up and moves in for hopeful kill. His confidence
soon turns to fear as his marines are faced with two
sunkens and 4 lurkers and he turns tail and heads for
home. The lurkers pursue but halt at the choke. Anathem has 12 zerglings heading for the Terran
main and also has his 4 lurkers waiting at Hilbs' main. Hilbs has gotten his first two tanks and is
steadily teching for drop ships, and he does not realize
his peril. The zerg troops ready themselves and the
General Lee makes its move. Dust flies and for a second
the cars cannot be seen as the enter CorkScrew
Canyon.
*Soon
the Hilbs is aware of the zerglings streaming up his
ramp, testing his bunker. The zerglings manage to do
their job even though they were short lived against the
bunker and tanks and that purpose was to allow the
lurkers to burrow and destroy the nearby turret. Hilbs desperately scans and manages to kill all
of the lurkers except one which was on the bottom of his
ramp. Hilbs' ramp defense had been well beaten but a
second wave did not come and so he began construction of
a drop
party. The stage was set for an exciting new
round of racing as Hilbs began construction of an expansion CC and Anathem begins loading up a drop of his own at his
base. The crowd cheers and Daisy Mae gives an especially
loud "Yayy!" as the two cars enter The
Green Marshes.
Anathem loads up 7 overlords with
lurkers. At the same time, Hilbs is landing 3 tanks, several marines, and an
SCV at the edge of Anathem's main. Turrets are constructed and tanks
seige up. Hilbs is getting ready to purchase Anathem a whole week in his favorite hotel when the
proverbial fan gets clogged with crap. 7 overlords is
nothing to shrug off, especially when they're full of
lurkers.
Anathems giant lurker drop meets
little resistance at Hilbs main. Hilbs does manage to get few tanks up and banging
on the lurkers, but his CC must be sacrificed in order to
use its scan. Hilbs
isn't having all bad
luck, however, as Anathem's main crumbles under the fire of tanks and
stimmed marines. The last of the lurkers are uprooted as
tanks and a brand new Sci-Vessel take action. Hilbs drop force marches to the ramp of Anathem's base and makes short work of the
expansion there.

Now comes the difficult part of the
BR. One of these fantastic Cars must win the race. The
next section is entitled Straight Away Desert. In
this round, one car will win. Now, what has happened so
far is the truth with no exceptions. One
of the next two sections is the truth, the other is
simply fantasy. I refuse to reveal which is true,
although you might you see for yourself with ease. Both
cars are great, and I will not show favoritism for either
one. Call me crazy, I just can't do it. So I present the
final round of The Cooter County Race.
The race is really heating up as Anathem is desperately fight to keep his last
expansion and Hilbs is gunning it, reaching for the victory
which he knows is close at hand. Anathem sees his situation, realizes his
desperation and promptly...................Disconnects.
With
one last statement of "I hate Zerg", Anathem disconnects. The General Lee fought
tremendously, but K.I.T.T. had the advantage in being
more modern. Hilbs
celebrates his victory
with his Car and a keg of 'juice'. GG to all players and
props to Hilbs on a game well played and race well driven.
As the last of Anathem's main drivels away and his lurkers die, a
spire is constructed.....at Anathem's secret base. He had started an expansion
at the 12:00 position and had teched to mutalisks, hoping
Hilbs would let up on construction as he thought
he had won. Hilbs in fact offered his GG early as he blew
away the remainder of Anathem's expansion. Little did he know that great
danger was upon him. It finally occured to him that he
might still have a lap left ahead of him and promptly
landed his floating CC and began mining and troop
production. Anathem's first mutas hatch and an expansion
hatchery at the 12:00 natural morphs. Hilb's troops are supported by his Sci-Vessel
and a bunker. All is quiet for a while when Anathem decides to make a move with his 12+ mutas.
The flyers approach the Terran expansion and find the
resistance. Numbers are on Anathem's side, however, and he pulls ahead in the
skirmish.
Hilbs offers his GG's and gives his attackers a
little gift with his Sci-Vessel. But all is not lost, as Hilbs secret has an expansion constructed at Anathem's old main. The base is well under way with
turrets and bunkers and a rax when the mutas finally
discover the small mineral node. A hard battle is fought
as the bunkers are repaired by dedicated SCVs but the
mutas pull ahead and the last of Hilb's buildings are destroyed. He has but one
depot left and race is drawing to a close. The General
Lee is too far ahead now, and K.I.T.T. simply stops. All
is over. And The General Lee is Victorious! Daisy Mae is
running across the grass towards the dusty old car and
all is well in Cooter County.
