1v1 - BB-Chargon vs Whoreable_player
Good day ladies and gentlemen. As I was trolling amoung the dazeling reports here at br.com, i figured it was high time I pitched into the community I enjoyed spending my off half hour in.
This all started when I was to join a 1v1, when I got there two people were all ready to play. I noticed the map (Dark Temple) was prepped for observers so I submitted to observe. BB-Chargon and Whoreable_player were to lead my way into BR.com
Starting the match, the two players opted for random race choices. BB-Chargon spawned as red protoss on the 9:00 plateau, and Whoreable_player grew at 6:00 as the teal zerg.
| Whoreable_player grew to 10 drones after cancelling an extractor, hatchary at his natural, spawning pool at his main, another hatchary at his mineral only, followed by four defensive lings. Before his Natural Hatchary, his scouting overlord browsed arrived at BB-Chargons base (the first place he looked) and relayed the following body odor: 8-Pylon and scout with deon, the assimilator 2 gateways and a pylon on 12 (one gateway was cancelled 30 seconds later), cybernetics core on 13, zealot and pylon at choke on 14. |

| BB-Chargons faithful companion deon went hunting for the Whoreable_player and found him at the first place he looked just as the zerg BO moved a drone to start his natural hatchary. Deon valiently tried to stop the growing expansion but died to the four zerglings out of the zerg main. As Whoreable_player started his hydra den, these zerglings accompanied by two friends proceeded toward the protoss base. The lings invaded the base bypassing the zealot at the ramp to raise a little hell in the probe line. 2 probes were destroyed before a dragoon finished the last of the poorly microed zerglings. During this attack, BB-Chargon built a robotics facility and a shield battery at his choke. Whoreable_player followed up with 6 hydras and two lings losing all but one hydra to the 3 zealot, 2 dragoon and sheild battery at the choke.

Whoreable_player began to upgrade his main hatchary to a lair when BB-Chargon dropped a probe on the ledge of Whoreable_players natural expansion where two pylons were built. Two of the four following cannons were destroyed without incident while the other two forced Whoreable_player to maynard his drones to his mineral only. Meanwhile, Whoreable_player sent a sqaud of hydras to BB-Chargons choke, where they destroyed the sheild battery with overlord scouting and proceeded to attack when BB-Chargons first reaver spoiled their fun.

BB-Chargon then took the happy reaver and tried to squeeze into Whoreable_players main, but Whoreable_player had lined hydras along the edge of his main to discourage such a drop, instead the reaver was unloaded at Whoreable_players mineral only where it mercilessly slaughtered a hydra and a drone but was chased away by reinforcements. Whoreable_player countered with a group of lings and hydras. These were met with 2 reavers and two dragoons outside BB-Chargons mineral only. Both reavers valiently died along with Whoreable_players entire force. Four goons backed up the defenders and marched toward the mineral only where they destroyed the sunkens but were harried by newly hatched hydralisks. BB-Chargon loaded a reaver up and destroyed the unused hatchary at Whoreable_players natural while Whoreable_player built a spire.
BB-Chargon fears that Whoreable_player expanded like a . . . well . . . whore while he was contained and scouted with 2 reavers in a shuttle. To BB-Chargons disapointment, they found nothing, but could have seriously done some damage had they been put to use at Whoreable_players front door, meanwhile Whoreable_player has built a handful of scourge and begin scouting for expansions and undefended shuttles. BB-Chargons reavers finally get back into action with a large handful of dragoons and destroy Whoreable_players mineral only and 6 lings that were caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.

One of Whoreable_players scourge found a flaw in BB-Chargons defences as it lies overtop the active probe line. Mutas are queued up and sent into the battle where numerous probes are striken until the dragoons come in numbers to chase them away only catching one of the flying vultures with it's pants down. The scouting scourge fly through some dragoons to catch 2 reavers which were loaded into a shuttle.

The forces at this point stand at BB-Chargons 14 goons and one reaver, whereas Whoreable_player has 11 hydras and 2 zerglings. Both players expand, Whoreable_player to his mineral only again and BB-Chargon to his natural. BB-Chargon sets up another reaver at his natural and Whoreable_player sets up a group and a half of zerglings and a group of hydras in the centre of the map. Note that neither of the players have upgraded at all except for scarab damage. Both players decide to attack each other and their forces almost cross paths. Two reavers that were slowly crawling had four dragoons to help them fend off Whoreable_players attack which was done quite handily but at the cost of the 2 reavers. 8 dragoons proved to be more trouble to Whoreable_players defence as he loses his sunkens but reinforcing hydras finished off the surviving dragoons. A quick building of troops by Whoreable_player allows a counter attack 30 seconds later with 12 lings and 7 hydralisks. The defending goons get destroyed and Whoreable_player starts to hit on the expansion. Since more lings and hydras are on the way as reinforcements, he gathers his first wave and tries to make his way into BB-Chargons main. mr. reaver was waiting for them and that idea was thwarted in a hurry. The reinforcements raze the expansion before the reaver and supporting goons finish off the last attackers.
While a new nexus is being built, BB-Chargon long distance mines since his main is drained. His life is short lived as Whoreable_player attacks again with zerglings, hydralisks and a few mutas finish the last of the defenders and the warping expansion.
BB-Chargon submits to Whoreable_players forces and zerg has won the day. |
lessons learned / ideas noted:
You can win a game with good macro and poor micro, but visa-versa is more risky
Never use 2 reavers in a shuttle for recon
Cannons on a cliff are a pain in the rectum
No money, no funny
