Consolidated Company Technologies Limited Presents..
The game began with me
asking for a 1v1 to observe. I had recently downloaded
PaintShop and, having been used to the simple MS Paint,
had been quite overwhelmed. I needed a game to BR and
The.Confessor said he was willing. He got an opponent and
the game was set. (Aren't those circle things cool as
heck?)
Players-
The.Confessor
- White Protoss
ArcImpulse
- Yellow Terran
Map: Lost Temple
The.Confessor drew the
6:00 position and ArcImpulse
started at the 12:00 plateau. ArcImpulse
began construction of a depot and barracks at this ramp,
indicating a wall-in. The.Confessor
opted for a double gateway build. Arc sent his scouting SCV first
towards the 9:00 main as did The.Confessor,
there the two workers met and exchanged Pokemon cards
(noone is safe) and then proceded to their next waypoint.
The yellow SCV decided to construct an extractor in the
Protoss base, as it was his next destination, a token of
good will, or a device of war, the Protoss knew not.
Knowing that his opponent had seen his double gate build,
Confessor decides to make
the first move offensively. Leaving the half built
extractor to be, he assigned 4 zealots and some probes to
an attack squad. Off they set towards the terran's base
in hopes of finding an underdefended colony, or at least
some beer. Arc had not been
idle or foolish, however, and his wall-in was complete
with 4 marines standing behind the cover of a depot. This
was his only defense as his workers busied themselves
with the collection of gas and the construction of a
Factory.
The Attack was wisely pulled
off, however, when The.Confessor
saw the wall in. His unhappy, but sober, zealots meandred
back to his base. As the last 3 zealots started away,
they halted. The.Confessor
was leaving them to see if they could possibly cause some
future raucus. Arc now had
one Factory with a siege workshop and soon vultures
started to appear. A second factory and a starport were
also being constructed in the confines of the Terran
wall-in. The.Confessor made
his own tech jump, this one to Dragoons. He had sizeable
army of the quad-limbed cannons at his base when he moved
his 3 zealots in to scout ArcImpulse.
They found that the 4 marines had wondered out from
behind their depot and now were fair game for the Protoss
warriors. 3 of the marines fell quickly whilst the other
one fled up the ramp and to the safety of the waiting
vultures. The remaining zealots fled when the defeaning
boom of arclite fire split the air.
The zealots ran back a space and
waited by Arc's mineral only
expansion. Soon they were joined by the rest of The.Confessor's army of Dragoons
and Zealots. At the same time as this gathering, Arc had loaded up and sent off a
drop ship containing four vultures. The drop aimed for
the lower left corner of The.Confessor's
main. The drop ship halted at the very edge of the cliff,
however, for at that time, The.Confessor's
forces had entered Arc's
main. The wall-in soon fell and the front guard tanks
perished. Arc had attempted
to start and expansion at his natural, but the attack
forced him to withdraw his CC and run his SCVs back into
his main. He lost many, before they Dragoons finally
climbed the ramp and started to blast away at his tech
buildings. Luckily he had 2 tanks pop out of the
Factories just then and he had SCVs ready to repair them.
The drop ship now unloaded its cargo on The.Confessor's mineral line. The
probes quickly ran, but not before a large portion of
their number was destroyed. Dragoons waiting at The.Confessor's ramp charged the
vultures and made quick work of them. The dropship
escaped unharmed and returned to Arc's
wounded, but functional, base.
Both of these attacks managed to
do a fair amount of damage, now we would see who could
take their attack and make a move, either offensively or
through tech. Arc decides to
rebuild his natural expansion and erect a third factory.
He now begins production of tanks and vultures. The.Confessor warps in a Nexus at
his natural as well as his mineral only. He reinforces
these investments with 8 goons and 2 cannons. 2 starports
appear in his main as well, and a fleet beacon soon
follows, indicating corsairs with d-web. The.Confessor begins patroling
with his first 2 corsairs, and discovers a drop attempt
by Arc. Arc had loaded up yet another
dropship with vultures and was heading for the same place
he had instigated his first drop. This time, however, The.Confessor was prepared with 4
waiting Dragoons. The vultures grenades had little effect
on the heavily armored dragoons, and soon they vanished
in puff of high grade alcohol and shrapnel. He chased the
dropship a little ways with his corsairs, but veered off
as it neared it's home base. The headed off for the top
left island and found that he had a Command Center
building guarded by 3 turrets. The corsairs retreated
back their stations and awaited further orders. The.Confessor takes this
oppurtunity to attack with 12 dragoons. He finds an
underdefended expansion at hisopponent's natural and
makes short work of the SCVs mining there. The CC once
again lifts off and retreats to the safety of Arc's main. Soon arclite fire
starts pounding the opposing dragoons and blue soup coats
the ground within seconds. Arc
now moves out his 10+ tanks and vulture support towards
the Protoss main. The push sets up just in range of the
mineral only expansion.
The tanks pound on the Nexus and
the guarding Dragoons start forward and then retreat,
waiting for D-Web support. The corsairs come onto the
scene and start laying down the D-web, but to no avail.
The tanks have been accompanied by a Science Vessel and
soon the corsairs had been EMPed. The tanks moved out of
the D-Web and resumed their firing. The Dragoons surged
foward and fired away, but the soon were overwhelming by
tank and vulutre fire. The.Confessor
surveys the scene and looks at his defenseless main and
realizes his obvious defeat. And with that The.Confessor leaves the game.
Back in NoHunters GG's were exchanged and the players
went their own ways. Congratulations to both players and
to ArcImpulse on a game well
played.

Thanks for reading, and
look forward to some "Totally Radical*" new
BRs.
