Shadow (I don't remember his full name, but will refer to him just as shadow)
Overview:
I did not plan to write a br on this match so I have no pictures:( I took a picture of the final screen, but unfortunately I already had 99 screenshots and it did not take. My friend and I were playing under our smurf names where we play to have fun, but surrender at the end of a game. Sometimes we try weird and unusual strats, and just use the accounts to have fun. This game is a game we hosted on Lost Temple and had two people join promptly. Everyone chose random except for FI$HER who chose protoss.
Beginning:
We started the game and I (Teamloser1.5) started at the 3 position as terran, while my partner stared at the 6 position also drawing terran. Shadow started at the top position drawing zerg, and FI$HER started at 9 with protoss. My partner and I both started off by blocking our entrances and going with early gas. Both of us scouted with our 9th scv. Shadow was going for an early expansion while FI$HER had started with a forge and early gas and had two cannons warping in at his choke when the scv was going in. Back at my base I was keeping a constant pump of marines from my barrack and when my factor was about half way finished I started an academy. As soon as my factory finished I made the add on and started a starport. I was afraid of early DT so soon after I started an engineering bay and sent and scv to my partners base to build a turret for him. My partner was using a similar build but told him to skip out on an engineering bay and that I would build a turret at his base. When we both got our add on to the factory we started researching vulture mines and pumping vultures. By the time our starport finished and we produced a dropship we had four vultures ready to go.
So what were our opponents doing while we were each going for the deadly vulture drop?
Shadow had gone for quick gas after his expansion and a third hatch at his choke. I had sacrificed an scv to explore his expansion and found that his hatchery there was a liar. When I scanned his base I saw that his main hatchery was also a liar and he had a hydra den. He had two sunkens up for defense at his main in case of a drop but it looked like there would be a sweet spot were vultures could avoid the sunkens. It appeared as if he was going for a quick drop on one of us with lurkers and hydras. Meanwhile FI$HER was teching to DT's and took an early expansion. My scan on his main revealed that he had no defense in his main.
The Drop:
Our original plan was to both drop the protoss with our four vultures, but after seeing how the zerg was going for a power economy and would most likely have drop and speed soon for his overlords we wanted to harm his economy as much as we could. My drop ship brought the four vultures to the left side of his mineral line and deposited its cargo. The drones were popping left and right and I planted mines to the sides of the vultures, but one got two close to a sunken and another started chasing the drones as they retreated and was wounded by the sunken but was able to see incoming hydras before its death. I picked up the three remaining vultures and brought them to his expansion and was able to kill a couple more drones before they retreated, but I lost one more vulture. At this time I had a siege tank finished and brought the dropship down to my base to pick it up and placed it on the edge above his natural. My partner did a similar drop on the toss who had a dragoon and a cannon waiting for him when he dropped. We both successfully killed about half the drones/probes of the enemy. My third scan revealed that the toss had his expansion fully running so I used my second dropship and picked up another tank and dropped his ledge. During this time the zerg had picked up a couple of hydras and killed the tank above his natural before the tank could kill his hatch. At my base I added a second and barracks and a second starport, and after researching stim for my marines researched optic flare and expanded to my natural. My ally expanded after his vulture drop by floating a command center to the right bottom island and then added two more factories to have a total of three. FI$HER got some high templar and started amassing dragoons.
Mid Game:
My next attack consisted of dropping one tank, about 12 marines and medics, and 6 wraiths on zerg ledge. This was right after I had dropped the single tank on the protoss edge. I remember seeing that my tank on the protoss ledge killed his nexus, but do not know how he destroyed my siege tank. This drop successfully killed the zerg expansion below. I made a third barracks and third starport and was expanded to the mineral only expansion to the left of my 3 o'clock base. I set up three tanks on the ledge of my main so they could protect my mineral only expansion and brought down a good portion of my infantry. The zerg attempted to drop me with two overlords, but I destroyed them before the cargo could be dropped. My partner was pumping goliaths and tanks and vultures, and after a scan revealed the protoss was warping in another nexus made me aware that he was going to drop his ledge. I had a total of 12 wraiths at this point and brought them along with my ally's drop ships to help out his drop. When my partner was unloading his cargo of 2 tanks, 3 goliaths, and a scv he killed a cannon that just finished warping in and a cannon that was about half way finished warping in. After I saw he had secured the ledge I brought my own dropship full of four medics and four marines to meat my 12 wraiths. I scan the top of the zergs main base and unload my dropship there and optic flare the three overlords I see and cloak my wraiths. He brings down about 24 hydras but retreats them until another overlord arrives while I killed about 8 of them. I notice that the protoss has a high temp in the zergs base and attempts to storm my wraiths but misses the first storm. I brought my wraiths over his temp to finish it off but he storms on top of it killing his temp and injuring most of my wraiths. Right after three overlords that were not blinded yet and his hydras roll back into his base killed 5 of my 12 wraiths before I could retreat out. I looked over and saw that my partner had killed the protoss nexus again with his drop. I knew that this was good because we had just taken out his expansion and my ally had secured his natural for himself.
The End:
At this time FI$HER starts accusing us of using a map hack, but continues with his attack. Shadow and FI$HER hit my mineral only expansion to the left of my base and ended up killing all my infantry and command center before my wraiths could save it. Most of shadow's troops were destroyed, but a mass of about twenty four goons still existed and were heading toward my main. I saw that my partner had a large support group of tanks and goliaths coming down to help me out. I scanned around the dragoons and spotted one observer and quickly killed it with my pack of 24 wraiths. I started attacking the dragoons with the wraiths but noticed that the dragoons started attacking back and knew that he must have another observer, but I was out of scan. Luckily, my partner was very astute and scanned the dragoons twice for me so I could find the observer and kill it. I finished up all the dragoons with my 1-1 wraiths before my partner's troops could arrive. The zerg then made a frontal attack while also dropping my base with lurkers and hydras. My partner's troops took care of the frontal attack with his tanks and goliaths, while I was able to focus my wraiths and marines on killing the drop before it did severe damage. I see my partners troops rolling up to the protoss main and bring my wraiths to support then hear FI$HER complain about us using the map hack about 20 more times and then quits before we destroy his base. We normally surrender after we have the victory, but after all the complaints about hacking we decided to take the victory. Without the zerg securing his natural, and not allowing him to get the island he had few troops left at his base. He left the game after my wraiths arrived and killed the two spore colonies protecting his base from air. |
