Ahhh. Good ol' Starcraft. The only thing that allows me to sit back and relax after a good day of studying and chores. Little did I know that this night of Starcraft was gonna be a bit different...
5:55 P.M.
I found my friend two close friends Joker.no.$321 and Brian410 (Joker's ho) chatting. I said hi and Joker wanted me to write a BR on them so my writing skills can be renowed to the world [ahem]. Oh ya and also he thought this could give him a bit more recoginization. I agreed since I had nothing better to do at the time and I set off to create the game on Dark Temple.
6:01 P.M.
Finaaaaally, after a few mess-ups such as forgetting to putting the "Use Map Settings" setting on and creating the game on the wrong name and things like that, the game got started. Brian410 chose Random as he took the 12 o' clock and drew the Protoss. Joker also relied on luck to pick his race and got the humans and started at the 7.
6:06 P.M.
Joker.no.$321 started with a build order I don't see much, a barracks on 8 and depot on 9. Brian410, who doesn't have much experience from Protoss (in fact he doesn't have much experience at all but he isn't all that bad) started his Protoss army with a pylon on 7(?) and a gate on 8(??). He then proceeded to build his second gateway on what I believe to be on 9. I wasn't counting so I'm not very sure. Joker seemed to be going for the dangerous strat M&M as he got his second rax up.His nice looking control group of marines all in a pack of three by fours looked really nice by the way. Brian seemed as if he was confused of what to do because at the time he only had 2 zealots at his ramp defending his base. I'm pretty sure if Joker had attacked right then and there, this game wouldn't be worth writing about. Joker then looked to a marine to tell him what was going on in the Protoss base. The brave marine found nothing but the two zealots as they hacked on the poor marine.
6:09 P.M.
Joker had recon and marines. He had been pumping marines out of two Barracks like a madman and he had about 2 dozen of them. He still thought Brian had more than those two zealots. He sent one of his control groups to the ramp of Brian's base as he pumped out more marines, depots and SCVs...
*****
Brian had been getting some more of his trusty zealots but made a few mistakes in the meanwhile. For example, Brian had an Assimilator up without a trace of a Cybernetics Core. He still had no clue of what Joker was planning to do consequent to the fact that he had failed to scout. But luck was on his side as you readers shall see...
6:11 P.M.
Joker sent his control group of marines as he started a Factory. Now here is where the luck comes in. Due to the building at his main, Joker had failed to micro his marines against the few (6), but valiant zealots Brian had. After all the dust cleared, pools of human blood drenched the soil as 2 lucky zealots and 2 newly warped dragoons spat in it.
6:14 P.M.
Despite the slaughter of the marines, things still weren't looking so good for the Protoss. Joker had two Factories pumping vultures and tanks. We all know that vultures rape zealots like a uh....rapist while dragoons hit with Arclite cannon fire turn quickly into soup. Joker was keeping up with his marine productivity also. By the time the Brian had his 4 zealots back and 6 dragoons accompanied by 2 (dumdumduuuumm)HIGH TEMPLARS, Joker had set up his big force near the ramp. His force consisted of 12 marines, 2 medics, 2 tanks, a vulture and an SCV. The only things bright for Brian was that at this time, Brian had his natural working as well as a Stargate building.
6:15 P.M.
A tense battle has risen as Joker decided it was time to attack the Protoss. Templars storm, tanks fire, mines blow up as the battle rages on. Zealots die, marines fry as Brian again finds himself victorious as 6 goons, 2 zealots and a High Templar emerge from the blood of the humans and their fellow Protoss. (Actually the Protoss dont really die by spilling blood. Instead they dissapear and make these weird noises. Especially the probe! They make that really cool"giguonck" sound.)
6:17 P.M.
Apparently, both players are extremely afraid of a drop as they build up a few cannons/turrets at their mineral lines. But while Joker is building his turrets, he calls forth newly trained infantry (4 marines), his newly trained working guy (an SCV) and his newly made artillery (3 tanks and 3 vultures). Joker again sends his men just away from the ramp, as last time and sees some dragoons and zealots patrolling. The tanks seige and the SCV builds as the patrolling dragoons are turned into blue soup. Brian, aware that this might be the end of the game, encourages his Protoss units to fight. With the oh-so-confident "oh crap" he sends 2 dt's and 2 of his few dragoons to try to disperse this attack. Of course, Brian had not seen all of Joker's forces because he wouldn't send that little to counter an attack like Joker had just posted. The huge minefields Joker laid proved useful as more blue flame and blue soup was made.
6:23 P.M.
Joker sent backup to his containment force as it was getting thin. Medic after medic came to heal as tank after tank shot their powerful Arclite cannon blast. Brian seems to be a little short of forces as Joker pushes his tanks and lays spider mines in time with the Arclites.
6:25 P.M.
Now things were really looking bad as Brian sent zealot after zealot, one by one (not a very good move) at the ever-so-close-and-dangerous Terran artillery Joker had set up. Joker had turrets to counter attack the scouts Brian was building. He had tanks to counter the dragoons and vultures to dispatch the zealots. The spider mines took care of everything else that the artillery missed (which wasn't much). Brian finally realized that he could not win for the Terrans had their counters against his Protoss units all set up. Brian promptly left with a "gg" and a "cya" as I congratulated Joker.no.$321 to be the winner of this match.
Lessons Learned:
-Terran are IMBALANCED!!(jk) I think the Terran's commander was the reason that they had won.
-Dragoons die to tanks pretty quickly
-Mines hurt alot. Enough said
-Dark Templar aren't so great when the opponent has mines + detectors
Anything that was taken the wrong way (perhaps as a flame, I dunno how that would happen but nonetheless..) was not intentional.
