Map : Lost Temple
9:00 - Me (Who'sYoDaddy) / Terran
Purple
3:00 - K~Ban / Zerg Teal
This game starts
similar to my previous report which you can find here
. I browse through the games, looking for
1v1's, and luckily, I find one on Temple (the rest were BGH). I join
the game and he asks if I'm good to which I reply, "I dunno." He
starts the game and I pick Terran at the two second mark while I notice
he has chosen Zerg, goodie, my Firebats and Wraiths will have a field day
as long as he doesn't get any expansions (viva la Turbo Newbie.)
Let the games begin ;p
Let's
Take a Look at the Map
I
begin with a 8 Rax, 9 depot build, with the first SCV to complete
their respective jobs making the 2nd depot. As usual Terrell finishes
his job last, so he gets to go scout.
Terrell
goes at his usual merry pace, and after checking 6:00, finds the Zerg infestation
at 3:00, he goes in and finds a Ling rush coming, so William Gates the
21st, who had finished his job first thus having to construct the 2nd depot,
makes a bunker in the gap of the wall-in and orders the training of 4 marines.
Meanwhile,
I order the construction of a refinery and a 2nd Rax back at the base.
Not soon after the Terrell scouting report about 24 lings come charging
up the ramp, needless to say, it wasn't a pretty sight.
After
further scouting by Terrell (who had been hiding in the corner of the Zerg
base), I see that the Zerg cerebrate has *still* not begun the lair mutation,
but he has build a hydralisk den. Knowing that Hydras have a better
chance of breaking my wall-in, I upgrade my marine U-238 shells, and with
the added range from the bunker and the pre-mentioned upgrade, I am confident
in my security in my continuous build-up. During this time, I also
threw up a CC and began to float it to the right island (an OL was blocking
the path the CC had to take to get to the left one).
I
once again scout, amazed he hasn't killed Terrell (who had other ideas
about dying), and notice a mass ling and hydra build-up, well K~Ban,
I have an equation you might like....
Meanwhile, the brave
expeditionary crew arrives at it's destination and begins to harvest the
resource rich Island.
Prepped for my attack,
I gather my 3 groups of bats and group of rines, leaving some random behind
in case of a drop, but I also haven't been idle, I've constructed a factory
and dual Starports just in case.... before moving out, K~Ban decided he
wanted to see what a group of hydras could do when you don't move them
with 'attack move', here's what...
I anxiously tell
Terrell to scout again, but he refuses, fearing the massive hydras he can
see in the distance, with a sigh I activate a ComSat, what I saw then amazed
me...
Amazed at the single mindness of my opponent, in the fact that he was
still pumping hydras and not mutalisks against my Wall-In, I shrug and
send in the masses, but before I do, I check K~Ban's record...
Wondering how you get 80 wins from playing like this, I send in the
now *very* eager troops. Here's why....
Firebats > Lings, what can I say :)
This was a fun game
for me to play, I'm not sure how fun it was to read, however it gives great
satifaction to a terran player when 3 firebats make a mass of 12 lings
into a puddle of red almost spontaneously. I hope you enjoyed reading
and please write a comment on what I can do better next time not
only on the report but on the game, once again I hope you enjoyed reading
it, and if anyone ever wants to play a game 1v1 2v2, whatever, talk to
me when I'm in NoHunters (once I get Brood War this weekend =P) But
I can still play vanilla with anyone who wants to ;p
