Overview:This was a long and hard 3 way dance from hell. The two players I fought were very good considering that they`re newbies.Corgan had to be cut down first though. No one rips my game plan off.

Players:Me,Term689,CaptainCorgan.
Species:Me `n` Corgan hit Kushan,Term hit Taiidan.
Estimated losses:Since I pretty much sat and waited except for a few attacks and deaths I had an estimated 5680 losses.Corgan and Term were at each others throats most of the game so I`d say they were in the 10,000`s at the most.
Starting points:I started at 6:45/7:26,Term started at 3:15/8:06 and Corgan started at 9:19/6:00.
Map:Scattered

The Beginning

I went straight for capital ship research after my humiliation at Term`s hands from earlier.Term was focused mainly on corvettes and fighters. As for Corgan,he was doing the exact same thing as me.Pansy bastard was my main target for most of the game.I had built about 30 or 40 RC`s and started draining the map by the time research finished.Corgan ripped me off yet again with the exact same build order.I set up and expansion at the main gas cloud/asteroid area.

Watching the idiots kill each other

I`ve got several probes out by now, most of them around Corgan,I have a massive assault planned which just so happens to coincide with an attack by Term.
Coincidence or just dumb luck? That`s what I ask myself as the two of them meat in a clump of asteroids and gas clouds.I have a scout nearby and sit back to observe the chaos. In a bold move Corgan launches 50 of his Multi Gun corvettes at Term`s massive group of scouts. The havoc this causes is felt by Term the rest of the game as his main fighter group is taken down by a team of `vettes half its size.

Term retaliates on this bold and risky move with an even bolder and riskier attack using 8 assault frigates,4 ion cannon frigates and get this:12 support frigates healing the ion/assault frigates being supported by 24 repair `vettes who`re healing the support frigates.I detect some one-up`s manship going on here. The risky manuever pays off with a temporary end to the skirmish. The two sides stop fighting long enough to reload and regroup.

I get involved
and Corgan goes down
in a blaze of glory

After the fighting comes to a halt for several minutes I organize a cloaked fighter intel operation and my own personal assault on Corgan. My team`s consist of:15 assault frigates,5 ion cannon frigates,6 destroyers and 3 heavy cruisers.I use my patented Warp Drop and get behind him.On the way in my crew hits a few minefeilds.A frigate is lost and a destroyer is lightly damaged but the attack proceeds as I planned. The attack starts with 28 bombs ripping into his mothership. After that...all hell breaks loose. My crew holds out and nearly manages to cut him down before he resorts high risk overkill bombing, volleys and 150 charged bursts. All my ships except 2
destroyers and the cruisers go down.

I scuttle the remaining ships and take his entire bomber fleet down in the proccess as Term begins his own heavy assault. My cloaked fighter observes the mayhem unscathed as Corgan fights valiantly to win an extremely up-hill battle.Corgan`s last defense group manages to cause serious damage to Term`s assault fleet. After that Corgan`s MS get`s plastered by a massive fleet of enemy fighters and corvettes.3 heavy cruisers show up as he scuttles the MS and takes out Term`s entire fighter fleet.

Face-off

With Corgan out of the picture for good me and Term prepare for a face off.I have a large resourcer operation going on in the main asteroid/gas cloud area.5 carriers and 20 Resource Controllers are stationed there gaurded by dozens of frigates and a pack of 8 destroyers and 5 missile destroyers. These defenses would prove to be my saving grace at the expansion.Term, seeking a foothold in the resource race, builds up a large group of bombers and ion cannons and missile destroyers. He then does the gayest lamest method of attacking possible.A death from below attack.

The attack starts a good 15-20 minutes after my expansion base`s defenses are set up.For 16 brutal minutes the fighting goes on.He throws everything he can without leaving his expansions or main at risk of easy attack. My defenses are holding up nicely as he does the unthinkable...he brings in the heavy hitters.6 heavy cruisers, nicknamed Avatar`s for a very good reason, literally blast themselves past the perimiter defenses and engage the frigates and destroyers.the only thing that stops them are 25 salvage `vettes and some very quick tactical ingenuity.I gain 5 free cruisers and severely weaken Term`s assault force.

Calm before the storm

After the failed attack misses Term and I pull our forces back and regroup and reload. My fleet is by far the largest however his is by far the most powerful. In capital ship terms,he outdoes me 2 to 1 for every capital ship I have.Fighters and corvettes aren`t much better either. Now comes the real build-up.In the next 15 minutes we go without very many skirmishes except when he tries to scout my defenses for weakpoints. As for me,I`m planning the attack that will finally end this fight.

ENDGAME

After another 7 minutes of peace, all hell breaks loose once more.I hyper in most of my super capital ships for a desperation attack that`ll either make or break the match. My entire fleet except for my MS,some carriers and a few defensive forces are in the attack.Over the next 15 minutes our combined fleets waste each other down to 2 cruisers on my side vs. a bunch of capital ships on his.The attack gets the figurative "shot in the arm" it so desperatley needed when 13 of my assault frigates show up and help end the fighting. After this his entire carrier group gets wasted.

Winner:Me
Runner up:Term689
Total loser:Corgan

Lessons learned:
1:DEFENSE!
2:Coincidentally timed attacks can take down any player,no matter what experience level he`s at.
3:Desperate opponents are the most lethal, and the easiest to beat as long as you hit them where it counts the most.
