I was looking for an island ladder match to play (I love playing islands), and then I see this game labeled something like this "Dire, U Zerg" and I thought to myself "hmmm, maybe I can show this guy a lesson about picking on Zerg." After I got in the game I noticed someone else there waiting to play, but he said "I'm looking for an opponent with a higher rating than you." (I only had a 1021 at the time). So he left and I was the one to play a 1on1 vs GoldenH
Now he absolutely insisted upon me being Zerg, so I choose Zerg and we started. Once we were in the game, I remembered getting my butt kicked by some guy (hereafter known as HIM) in a previous ladder match, I was like GoldenH, in thinking that Protoss can't lose against Zerg, but I was wrong. This guy killed my from hydra dropping.
I thought I'd hydra drop GoldenH just like HIM did to me, only I didn't know HIM's build order... So, I tried to improvise. I first build up to 9 Drones, then I built an extractor (and didn't cancel it), then after I got 11 drones, I built my second hatchery and then a Spawning Pool. I got my Hydra Den started after my Pool finished. Then, when I had 5 Hydras, GoldenH sent a Corsair to scout out my position. I already knew his from an overlord I sent scouting previously (I was top left, he was top right). So I was thinking, "Ok, good, he's not going to get Reavers for a while." After I finally got my Lair done, I got Overlord Speed, then after the years it took to finish that, I got Overlord Transport, all while continually getting Hyrdas. Once, when I had about 16 hydras he sent 4 Corsairs in my base from the Mineral Fields (the back of my base) and killed 1 Overlord! I was really mad, since I was maxed out on Control already. After centuries of evolution, the overlords had sacs to carry troops in, so I filled up 8 Overlords with 4 Hydras each (32 Hydras), and sent them on a rampage in his base (1 overlord died to Corsairs). His only defense was 1 Zealot and 1 Reaver with 1 Scarab. After losing 3 Hydras, another Reaver popped out of the Robot Facility and took out 2 more Hydras. By this time he was finished, all his probes gone (as far as I know) and he had no expantions (again, as far as I know). So finally, after I destroyed all his Pylons he left and gave the game to me. |
