I come to BR.com today, as I have many days, searching for a good report. I read some, and they're good sure, yet they fail to interest me. I see the same 2on2, 1on1, or what have you for SCBW. Well I can sit and mope about the monotony, or I can do something about it. So, following the next paragraph I present the actual report on a game few people have ever heard of.(On a side note, there will be 2 computers playing against the team all of you will root for here. The computer made up the names of the coaches and teams of your opponents.)

The game will be Crush! Deluxe Demo. I had downloaded this a long time ago from Mplayer, and kept it on, and while its not there anymore, I believe one can find it if you search through the internet enough. Can't take screenshots, so you'll have to bear through a text-only report here. Regardless, I wont bother to go into the details of what you click and what this means. The report itself will be like a sports cast. The game itself, is a futuristic sport, where three teams do battle. Its a combination of rugby and football in a way. You begin, as all avid Crush! players know, by outfitting your team. You give them colors, a name, then you draft players and equipment. On players, all those drafted are the same, except their race. There are four races (Human, Dragoran, Gronk, Curmain). Each has a special ability, and set statistics on speed and power. As you may guess certain races will have lots of power and little speed, and the reverse is true. Those you'll pick up from the sports casters during the game. Equipment is illegal but only about a 10% chance of being caught per piece being used. Each one can drastically improve the wearer's abilities, those also will be discussed in the game. You have a total of nine players that can play in one game. You may draft more than that, but if a player is ejected, killed, or injured during a game he cannot be replaced mid-game. The goal is to have a player possess the B.A.L.L. and be in the end zone. First team to do so wins 1 game of the series. This game is turned based too, which is great I can write the game while I'm playing. Now on to the show!

IBC's MONDAY NIGHT CRUSH! DELUXE

After a big tirade of computer animations, and loud noise the two announcers appear, and begin commenting on tonight's game.

Bob:Well tonight we have an excellent Crush! game for all you folks out there. The Intergalactic Broadcasting Corporation brings you: The Martian Daemons vs. the Calcutta Nighmares vs. The Aiur Bengalaas! These teams are vieing for a spot in the ICL playoff spot as the last wildcard team. Here to analyze the team's for us is Human Hall of Fame Crush! Player, Greg "The Thief" Smith.

Greg:The first team to look at is the Daemons, coached by Darth Nader. He has relied on an all Dragoran team to bring him to this point. This gives them a good speed advantage, and ability to get up quick when knocked down, however they lack a lot of power. Also these guys are young and tend to make a lot of mistakes. Watch out for their lead guy, Deticus, an all-pro Dragoran. This guy is their play-maker.

Bob:And about the Earth based team?

Greg:Well, the Calcutta Nightmares are an all human team. Their coach is named after a famouse hero from prewarp Earth ages, Gandi. He has been around the league a long time. This team was a big disappointment this year. They were expected to stomp all over their divsion, but instead are struggling to gain the last open playoff spot.

Bob:and our underdog team.... the Aiur Bengalaas?

Greg:Yes these are an exciting group of guys to watch. No one expected them to go anywhere this year, but under their new coach, Rook they've soared. With a strong mix of all 4 guys, this team should win the last playoff spot, Bob.

Bob:Thanks Greg, the game is about to start. What do you think the keys to winning will be?

Greg:Definetly the first team to get the ball will have a strong advantage. As all avid Crush watchers know, a player must step on set pads to have a chance of getting the ball. There are 8 total pads, and the player gets shocked when he has chosen the wrong pad. Once the ball is obtained the player must run to the endzone on the opposite side of the field. The game is being played on Aiur, so the Bengalaas have the home crowd. The stadium is their Savannah setting which is a wide open field. I'd watch out for the Daemons running up and down it. If the curmians for the Bengalaas can get the ball, they can out run anyone else on the field. Lineups are going to be critical too.

Bob:Okay the game has just started folks. The Nightmares get to start first. Their lead player, George, teleports in on the Northwest corner. From there he rushes to the closest pad, the colors on it light up, and it flashes green. George gets the Ball!

Greg:Oh, that's critical the Bengalaas are going to have a tough time sacking him, with their weak starting three.

Bob:George will have to goto the south east corner for the win, that will take awhile. Now Flavicus, the Bengalaas's MVP Dragoran, teleports in. Hes at the South East Corner. Deticus quickly follows, teleporting in right behind George. He runs hard right at the human, the two exchange blows, and Deticus knocks George unconscious. The ball rolls out and walks around on the floor.(oh yes the ball does walk when free)

Greg:Not injured, but George just got knocked flat on the ground by a very powerful hit.

Bob:More players Teleport in from both teams. A Daemon Dragoran snatches up the ball and attempts to run around two Bengalaas, but he collides with a Bengalaas Dragoran, and both fall to the ground. The ball is free again. Quickly the Curmian for the Bengalaas snatches it up.

Greg:The Bengalaas got a little lucky on that one. Flavicus didn't make a good tackle, but he electrocuted Deticus with his gauntlets.

Bob:Another Bengalaas teleports in, but is caught with his own pair of gauntlets, and quickly ejected! Now two Daemons attempt to bring down the driving Bengalaas. They sack him, and one of them grabs the ball. Whereupon he is sacked by George, the initial ball carrier. The Daemons pursue the ball carrier, sack him, take the ball and advance to the 16 unit line. There is also some heavy fighting going on near the goal line, several Daemons are battling with a group of Nightmares.

Greg:The Nightmares are trying to prevent the Dragorans from scoring and force a sack close to the goal, for a quick grab-n-score. Gandhi has used this defense setup many times.

Bob:Meanwhile a whole group of Bengalaas just swarmed the ball carrier and could not drop him. That's just bad tackling techniques. The Daemon ball carrier quickly darts past several would-be tacklers. Now a second Gronk teleported in very close to the goal for the Bengalaas. He starts attacking a Nightmare and injures him!

Greg:A great shot right there, but that Nightmare will try to play through this game. That's that human valor right there. He wont be playing next week I wager.

Bob:Now several Bengalaas pursue the Ball Carrier, one gronk is electrocuted by a Nightmare, and the lead Dragoran for the Bengalaas gets hit by the ball carrier. Hit hard too.

Greg:Ohh boy, looks like he mashed that guy's foot like it was ice cream. Just a minor injury for the DocBot, but he'll be taken out of this game.

Bob:More fighting goes near the endzone. A Dragoran Daemon pounds a Human Nightmare really hard. I think he hurt his knee on that fall Greg. Now the Daemon ball carrier runs to the goal, he's almost there, but runs into 2 human Nightmares! They don't tackle him, but while trying to shake the defenders, he is pounded from behind by the Bengalaas 2nd Gronk. The ball comes loose.

Greg:This is critical now! Any player can grab the ball and score in the blink of an eye. A mistake here will be very costly.

Bob:A Daemon grabs the ball, and quickly his teammates attempt to block for him. One Dragoran, while attacking a Bengalaas Gronk, is killed by him!

Greg:He may have killed him, but the docbot will be able to resuscitate the body. He'll be back next week im sure.

Bob:Now a Nightmare gets around Daemon blockers and sacks the ball carrier! A Gronk for the Bengalaas tries to pick up the ball but he loses the handle when it moves around on him. More intense fighting occurs as players attempt to scramble to the open ball. Another Daemon is able to come up with it!

Greg:Wow! These Daemons just have uncanny ball control ability.

Bob:A Nightmare quickly jumps on him, and the two fall down in the fighting. The ball comes loose. The Nightmares pick it up, and the Bengalaas Gronk sacks the ball-carrier!

Greg:Just like the Daemons have good ball control, the Bengalaas have a great ability to pound the crap out of their opponents.

Bob:Well, the ball has stayed about the same distance to the goal for the past few seconds. Then, a Human Bengalaas Grabs the ball! He's one step from the endzone, but all of a sudden a Daemon trips him up from behind. The ball spills out into the endzone!

Greg:The stakes are even higher now, and player that grabs the ball and holds control of it can instantly win this game.

Bob:Several players scramble for the ball, but its too difficult to grab, and no one can keep a handle on it. Then, criska, a Bengalaas Curmian snatches it up, and is immediately sacked by a Daemon!

Greg:That's the new three second rule, the player must hold it for that long if grabbed in the endzone.

Bob:From behind a Daemon leaps over several fallen bodies, he is mis-tackled by a Nightmare, and lunges for the ball, which has rolled into the back part of the endzone. Unconstested he grabs it, and holds on to it! The Daemons win! The Daemons win!!!

Greg:That three second rule Bob, cost the Bengalaas the game.

Bob:Now to our post-game summary, with Greg "the thief" Smith.

Greg:Thanks Bob. Like I said during the pre-game, the Dragorans would be able to run all over Savannah type stadium, because of its few obstacles and wide open lanes. The Nightmares and Bengalaas both had equal numbers in rushing, 3 attempts, with 3 total units rushing. The Daemons just owned this statistic. With 6 rushing attempts for 25 units gained. This is a critical stat. The checking and injury stats are very similar for all teams. The MVP of the game is Zificus, the #2 man in the Daemon's lineup. With 4 landed tackles, 1 injury caused, 4 rushing attempts, and the winning goal. The runner-up would be Stook, a Gronk, for the Bengalaas. With 2 sacks, 1 injury, and 1 kill. Back to you Bob.

Bob:Join us next week folks! For this is only one game in the series. For Greg Smith and IBC, good night.

Crush! Deluxe is made by Stone Jackal Studios in case anyone cares. If you want to play it, search over the net for it, I'm sure you can find it somewhere. It's not a very intense game, and it won't keep you addicted, but its fun to play between spurts of BW or whatever. It has a cartoonish look, and all in all, its a silly sort of game.

Battle Shots!

The cool little pic included.

My cheap thing of the minimap, the black is impassable walls, green is the teleporter locations, red is the ball-pads, and blue are the end-zones.
