Round one of the Pokémon league.
Ash Ketch'em - Blue trainer
Mandy the Magnificent - Green trainer.
Field - Ice Field
Since this was only the first round of the Pokémon league, each trainer was aloud to use only three Pokémon each. Since Ash was fighting on an ice field, he wanted to get some water Pokémon. Before the match, he took out his krabby from Proffessor Oak. Now, Ash had 2 water Pokémon, Krabby and Squirtle, and one cuddly Pokémon, yes, Pikachu. It was time to start the match.
For his first Pokémon, Ash chose Krabby, and Mandy chose Executor. The Executor tried it's psybeam, but it failed. Krabby used this as his advantadge, and used his guillatome attack. It worked! Now, Ash just has to defeat 2 more Pokemon to win this round. As Mandy was about to take out his second Pokémon, something spectacular happened! Krabby was evolving from Krabby to Kingler!!!!! Ash was sure to beat Mandy now....
For his second Pokémon, Mandy chose a Horsea, and Ash stayed with Kingler. Horsea used his agility attack, while Kingler attempted his vicegrip attack. Oh no! Horsea is too fast for Kingler! It looks like Ash will have to call him back. No, but wait! Ash decides to stay with Kingler! After several tries at his vicegrip attack, Kingler FINALLY hurt Horsea, and he was knocked out of the match. Hooray! 2 down, one more to go. Ash knew he was going to win now...but the Magnificent Mandy had a trick up his sleave...
Since Kingler was a ground-type Pokémon, it would be weak to any air-type Pokémon. So, Mandy took out a Zubat and Ash stayed with Kingler. Zubat used his supersonic attack, and it hurt Kingler pretty badly. Ash ordered Kingler to dive into the water and harden. Zubat continued to use his supersonic attack, but got closer to the water so his attack could reach Kingler. Once Zubat was close enough to the water, Kingler dove up and grabbed him with his claws and dragged him to land. There, Zubat fainted and was knocked out of the match.
Ash had won! All of his hard work had paid off!! Ash went to the Cameras around him and gloated about his victory and how easy it was.
Ash was too cocky. This was just his first match. Would all of his matches be this easy, or will he find some worthy opponents in the Pokémon league? Will Kingler continue to perform as well as he did todaY?
All these questions and more will be answered in the next episode of Pokémon.
