Players:
[DS]clay-indian
vs.
BoWevilExpress
This is my second BR! I’ve been trying to get some basic HTML skills(by the way, I was wrong about what it stood for, it really means Huge Tall Militant Liar) but I suck, so this is just a text report, sorry: (
I didn’t know BoWevilExpress, so I’m not sure if I got his name right, but I met indian again from the last game I BRed. And the fight……..
[DS]clay-indian chose Terran and got the 9:00 position; BoWevilExpress randomed to Protoss at the 3:00 spot.
Round One: Techin’ Fools(oh yeah, where the heck is Tekken 4?)
The game began with BoWevilExpress going for what looked like a zealot rush with the standard 2 gateway build, but when he had 4 Zealots, he went straight for DarkTemplar. He took his 4 Zealots and went towards the 9:00 position to scout and cause raucous and trouble. He was scouting rather late IMHO, but indian sure wasn’t; he had taken his 6 SCV to scout(kinda early to scout, don’t you think indian?) and had discovered BoWevil’s zealot rush build order. He put up a quick bunker along with a rax at his highland choke and filled it with marines before doing any serious climbing of the tech tree. BoWevil’s zealots started to charge indian’s ramp but turned back when they saw, er, felt the bunker. They returned to his base and stood guard at his ramp. indian went straight for HM at that point; both players now entering a period of peace where each leaped into the tech tree.
Round Two: Sun Tzu Teaches A Lesson
indian makes the first offensive move as he takes his first two tanks and his 6 marines to BoWevil’s base. He brings along 4 SCVs, hoping to seriously contain BoWevil. He begins construction of a bunker and a turret right in his expansion. One of his SCVs waits to build an E-Bay as he has just spent some money on a ComSat back at his main. He starts the E-Bay right as his tanks seige up and his bunker loads. BoWevil sends a probe out of his main to scout out indian and watches it explode to arclite and marine Gauss fire.
He sends his waiting group of 4 DarkTemplar to deal with the threat, but when they get shot at he retreats to his base. His shuttle pops out and he loads up the DTs and heads for indian’s main base. He then begins building a small task force of zealots to deal with the containment.
Round Three: [DS]clay-indian, The Model Boy Scout, Is Prepared For Anything
indian sends a drop ship with 2 tanks to BoWevil’s expansion cliff to provide extra fire power against the attack from BoWevil that he expects. His scvs have begun construction of another bunker and 2 more turrets as 2 more marines have shown(and then 2 BCs meet up with 2 carriers and 2 goliaths battle 2 goons, while 2 marines and 2 medics fight 2 zealots supported by 2 batteries) up to reinforce the containment. BoWevil, hoping to cause some damage(well, he might not want to cause damage, so I had to make sure you knew that he did, in fact, want to cause damage), unloads his shuttle at the outskirts of indian’s small settlement. His DTs move in toward his CC, going for the comsat. There is a bunker right next to the Comsat, so hopefully he could take it out before he could get a scan off. He swipes once with his psionic blades of ultimate satanic and horrendous death(muwahahaha) and watches in dismay as blue twinkle stars appear over his DTs. FireBats stream napalm all over the warriors killing them pretty darn quick. At this point, it looks as if indian has it in the bag and he starts to expand; once at his natural and almost immediately after that one was setup, again at the 12:00 main spot.
Round Four: Zealots Can Get Pissed
Meanwhile, at BoWevil’s Main……..BoWevil sets up a few photons at his highland choke to prevent the E-Bay from peeking over the edge, and prepares a group of speed upgraded zealots to charge the Terran containment. He has 2 full batteries near his ramp to recharge his warriors, so he pushes on. The speedy Zealots rush down the ramp and charge the tanks, but they can’t get to the tanks because of a neat trick: indian had taken about 10 medics and placed them side to side in front of his tanks. The zealots hacked repeatedly at the medics but they just healed each other. The tanks pounded at the clogged zealots and the bunkers ripped their shields apart. Soon the attack was over with just a few dead medics. BoWevil begins production of Corsairs and starts an expansion at the bottom right island. He loads up 2 shuttles with 2 reavers and two dragoons to invade whatever expansion he can find of indian’s. His shuttle ambles over to the 12:00 position and finds a sparsely defended CC teeming with SCVs. He quickly dispatches the SCVs and manages to kill the CC before a squad of wraiths and a SV come and destroy his little force, and both of his shuttles.
Round Five: indian Goes To Sleep
Indian scans BoWevil’s main and finds 4 waiting corsairs and 10 zealots waiting to take his containment out. He sends a SV over to stand by his tanks and readies EMP. The corsairs come and start to dispatch D-Web but are EMPed and lose their energy. 8 wraiths rush in, cloaked, and take out all 4 before you can say “dirty assed whore”. Needless to say, BoWevil gets mad, but he doesn’t give up. He now readies 4 more sairs and an observer, 4 DTs in a shuttle, his 10 zealots, and an arbiter, yes, an arbiter. indian now expands to the 6:00 position, feeling a little cocky, and also puts up a few more starports.
Round Six: BoWevil Breaks Loose
BoWevil has a massive attack ready to go. He takes his arbiter to indians main base, stations his corsairs at his ramp, readies his 10 zealots there also, and gets ready to unload his shuttle on indian’s 12:00 expansion. He rushes his zealots in, gets off a few dwebs, kills the tanks; then his arbiter recalls his zealots to indian’s main right as his DTs unload at his expansion. A shuttle full of reavers unloads at indian’s natural and begin firing at the bunkers guarding it. Despite indian’s wraiths and SVs, marines and tanks, he can’t manage to significantly damage Bo’s attack because of the constant shuttling of troops back and forth to different battles. BoWevil displayed some amazing micro: troops being recharged, shuttles filling with new troops, Reavers popping all over the place. It was an amazing 5 minutes, but after it was over, indian’s bases were in shambles. He had managed to stop the attack but had lost all of his expansions and most of his main. He conceded with a hearty “gg” and promptly left. I congratulated BoWevil on a job well done afterwards.
Lessons learned:
Don’t give up. Use different types of troops in lots of different places and you’ll confuse the enemy so much that he’ll likely quit right then.
Micro is really cool
People in the games I observe have lots of things to say about asses, whores, and queers.
Hope you liked it. My next one should have colored names and maybe some pics. Anyone that has a good game that they want observed just tell me in the comments and I’ll be happy to observe!
