This BR looks better with Netscape........seriously = ) And if all the pictures don't load...hit refresh or reload.
Last night I was sitting at my desk procrastinating at battlereports.com diligently doing physics when this little voice in my head told me I need to brush up on my Terran game. So that's just what I did. I logged on to Battle.net and joined the first game that wasn't on BGH, $$Super Blood Bath$$, Tic-Tac-Toe, etc.
The map was Jeweled River and I had never seen it before in my life. However, I was glad that I didn't know the map because I wanted to be at the largest disadvantage possible, in order to really challenge my Terran skills. My opponent picked Protoss and started the game. 'Yes! Now it will be a bit harder.' I got the right-center spot and he(teal) was right below me.
My build order began like this:
8:depot
9:scout
10:barracks
...until I remembered that I wasn't playing Protoss (oops! = ) My scout had just as bad of luck--he found the enemy encampment at the last place he looked. By then I had already set up my buildings in a formation towards the north, which was nowhere near where I needed them. On top of that, I figured out that teal and I were actually connected by a land bridge. I also figured out that teal didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday, as his scouting probe began harrassing my SCVs. 'Good grief! I kinda screwed now.'
So I block my northern land bridge with an Engineering Bay and build a bunker at my expansion's ramp. Because of the placement of the bunker I could save money on marines--I put it just so that a probe would have to take hits going up the ramp, pausing to think, and then moving all the way around the bunker just to get in. That way I only needed one marine in it.
Next I build a bunker between me and teal and stuff four fresh marines in it, with two standing outside it. Just as I hear the vacuum door close, a bunch of ugly, teal-colored, little aliens waddle up and assualt the bunker. 'That punk bum-rushed me with Zealots!' I immediately started constructing a bunker behind my mineral line (which was facing toward teal in the south). It was less than 10 hp from behing done when those little monsters rushed me again. And of course they go straight for my building SCV. 'Grrrr.' I tell all my SCVs to attack and run defense for my 2 marines that are just sitting back in my minerals taking pot-shots. The smirk on my face is just about as big as my marines' because teal's Zeals (hey that rhymes = ) are running around like headless chickens. (Because of that little episode I thought about naming my report "Micro Saves the Day," but you'll see why I didn't.) The fun ends soon, though, when teal gets smart and micros his troops. He kills my two marines and a number of SCVs. Now on the battlefield is teal with 1 eager zealot and me with a few beaten up SCVs...but wait!...what's this?...a brand new, shiny tank just popped out of the factory. hehehe. I move it behind the minerals and after a fidgeting around for a few seconds, the zealot goes up in flames.
'So you wanna rush me with Zealots huh, teal? Well guess what...'

'Yep, that's right. Your Zealots look a little pale, teal. I think they need a tan.'
I start pumping the bats and tanks (as resources allow) and rally them to teal's choke. Turn's out he's put up cannons. Well guess what...

On that note, it looks like we have a tank push on our hands. "Siege mode...hold position...*zealots attack*...stim" 'I guess those guys didn't want to party very long. hehehe'
Here you can see some Zealots getting wasted like the punks they are. I tell my troops to stay there for a few seconds while I put up 2 starports and send more troops for reinforcements. Taking this time to comsat as well, I notice an enemy expansion in the lower left. Immediately I send an SCV to the north of it to establish a forward outpost. Oh yea--I expanded to my natural somewhere in there too. Alright...back to the battle...
I just start pushing into teal's base, plowing through everything in the way. He starts making dragoons. 'Dangit...more marines' Then he busts out with a reaver. This didn't really scare me until I screwed up my micro. Instead of sending one firebat to draw reaver fire, I accidentally double-click and send them all. Oh well. There are reinforcements on the way.
After teal's main is relieved of all of its buildings, teal resigns. All he says is, "I messed up."
'Hahaha. Now he sounds like a newbie. Sorry, but you won't get pity from me.'
The End
Short but sweet = )

-It's a good idea to know what a map looks like before playing on it.
-I should've made Firebats earlier since I knew my opponent was Protoss, and because he was close, he would probably rush.
-Tank pushes rape Protoss. (actually, I already knew that, but I just like saying it = )
