Map: Lost Temple

Game: 2v2, all players random.

Start locations: Zombie starts as Orange zerg at 3:00 position, Feral starts at 6:00 as white Protoss. Robovinski starts 9:00 position as teal terran. Finally Phoenix starts at 12:00 as red zerg.

And so it begins….

To start with Zombie and Phoenix scout each other with overlords, and start their drones to work. Feral and Robovinski trade probe/scv at about 12 to go look at each others respective bases.

Zombie begins by building a pool, then overlord, eventually followed by a ramp hatchery. Phoenix on the other hand goes for early gas followed by an overlord, obviously planning on teching up fast, going straight for hydras. Feral’s build order consists of standard pylon on 8, gate on 10, then another gate and another pylon, planning on pumping out some zealots. Robovinski starts out by building two barracks followed by e-bay and an academy.

Once the builds start to get underway Zombie decides he needs more income and expands quickly to his natural while his sunkens and lings guard the choke, just as Phoenix’s first hydra runs over to the choke to pay a visit. The visit is short-lived as the multiple sunkens on high ground prove to be less welcoming than a simple mat.

Like any neighbor Phoenix is jealous of Zombie’s expansion and quickly adds one of his own to his natural, followed by another at his own choke.

Meanwhile Robovinski has decided to extend his initial troops just outside his natural instead of guarding his choke teching to a factory with machine shop attached obviously for tanks… then eventually a starport at his main. While saving up then expanding to his natural before making any troops from these higher tech buildings (factory, starport).

At this point Feral is teching up fast by making a robotics facility, followed soon by an observatory then a support bay. As well, Feral got a citadel of adun, also not purchasing many of the higher tech units yet, but instead making more zealots and a few dragoons.

At about the same time Zombie starts producing lurkers as well as hydras and lings. Phoenix morphs all three of his hatches into lairs researching everything for the overlord I imagine... Eventually teching up to a double spire and a queen’s nest.

No one has attacked or made many attempts at valuable recon at this point, all of them deciding it is more important to tech up to their respective strategies. Robovinski has added a control tower to his starport as well as build a science facility with covert ops attached and a silo on his main CC, with the intent of getting ghosts with nukes. He then adds to the defense outside his natural with several tanks and a science vessel soon after.

Zombie decides he needs more money to keep up with production so he expands to his mineral only. At the same time Feral finally saves up enough to expand and shuttles a probe to the bottom right island, setting up a nexus followed by a stargate.

The battle starts to heat up as Robovinski takes a force of 20 er so M+M’s with 3 tanks to take out the newly erected min only expansion made by Zombie. The expansion is easily destroyed until Zombie moves in a bunch of hydras, lings, and lurks to take out the insolent terrans. Unfortunately for him Phoenix bolsters the terran ranks with an almost equally sized group of hydras. Feral decides he has to get in on the action, so he brings in 5 leg enhanced zeals as well as 3 goons with the sole purpose of destroying the tanks. They do their job well and Phoenix runs his hydras back to his natural.

Feral then leaves his reinforcements at Zombie’s natural, keeping them handy for future use. Zombie send a half dozen lings to both enemies guaging the level of defense each has. They run into several tanks and bunkers with the terran, and a bunch of sunkens and hydras with the zerg.

Zombie decides now is the time to strike and therefore rallies his force of 20 er so hydas, 12 lings, and 5-7 lukers, throwing them at Phoenix’s natural which is guarded by 5 sunkens as well as a dozen er so hydras.

At the same time Robovinski sends a nuke to the Zombie’s main base from the cliff below by the zerg natural. He gets the nuke off just before the attack commences.

Zombie doesn’t let this dissuade him in the least. He is intent on taking revenge by attacking the zerg. He therefore throws his forces at the natural, eventually breaking a hole through Phoenix’s defenses and taking out the natural. Zombie then waits for Feral who has been massing goons to arrive and charge up the ramp with him.

However Robovinski has drop-shipped over 4 tanks to help with the defense. The attacking force has problems getting up the ramp but eventually do so, only to be met by more sunkens and tanks. It takes a couple more waves of attacks in order to pound in the door, but eventually they do so, mopping up the leftovers of Phoenix’s main.

By this time Robovinski has expanded to the top left island with the last remnants of Phoenix, who makes a hatchery. Robovinski has now pumped out 5 bc and a couple wraiths to help in the inevitable defense, while Zombie and Feral mass up hydras/lings/lurks, and goons for the upcoming assualt, rallying them in the middle of the temple. Zombie has also teched as far as to get mutas and a few guards, knowing that there is a force on the top left island to be dealt with.

From here they both attack by throwing as many forces as possible at the terran. The ensuing battle is hard fought but short lived as the overwhelming attacking force rolls over the lone terran Robovinski.

Robovinski pulls out every trick he can, including a well placed nuke, but to no avail as the forces of Zombie and Feral seem inexorable despite heavy losses.

The battle ends with Robovinski and Phoenix conceding a hard fought match to Zombie and Feralwraith as their forces mop up Robovinski’s main.

Battle Shots!

Knock knock anybody home!? These zerg didn't take kindly to the loss of their mineral expansion, and Phoenix is paying for it.

Hmmmm guess not, we'll just make ourselves at home then.

Maybe your next door, let's get the group together for a little visit.

Now that isn't very neighbourly to say the least.

And so you have it.
