Hey ppl, this game took place over modem against my neighbor, Mushroommac. We decided to play Dire straits because it's a really fun and tactically challenging map. I chose Random while he chose Zerg. I ended up also as Zerg. I placed 2 computers on random. The game was a free-for-all.
BATTLE SUMMARY:
I started in the upper left starting island. Becoming uncreative by the second, I decided to do a Mass Hydra drop to destroy my opponents.

The first order of business was to build defensive structures and I had 7 sunkens surrounding my base before i built a second hatchery and a Hydra den.
Not long after I got a few Hydras and upgraded to a Lair, I transport 3 Hydras and 2 drones to the island to my East for an expansion.
I find blue protoss already there, a probe and two warping buildings. I quickly dispatch the buildings and destroy the probe. At this time my speed upgrade on the overlord finished and I sent 4 more hydras to counter the 2 zealots and 1 dragoon dropped by a shuttle.
My first expansion was underway. I built a spire and a queen's nest and upgrade to a hive, still pumping out tons of Hydras and improving their missile damage (Note: All Hydra improvements except for Lurker ability is already evolved.)
After the lair finished, I built a nydus canal from my main to my only expansion so that I could reinforce it if needed. I built a couple of mutas and scouted the island below me. It was occupied also by blue protoss! My mutas managed to kill 2 dragoons before they were completely destroyed.
Orange protoss had scouts flying over my expansion and I was destroying a couple of them. To take over the island below me, I evolved some guardians and some devourers for air cover and attacked. I lost everything but had satisfying results. All his defenses were gone and the NExus was burning.
I drop 8 Hydras and take over that island. I still hadn't had contact with my friend. he was constantly msging : "fuck blue" hehehe =)
I built a nydus canal that connected that expansion to the main one and started building up more forces for a Mass Hydra drop on Orange protoss' main which I found was beside my first expansion in the upper right.
My initial landing party consisted of 20 Hydras dropped from 5 Overlords. At this time, they were already 3 attack and 2 carapace.
I quickly decimated his forces and was left with 7 Hydras to destroy his structures. I transported 4 more Hydras to help and in no time at all, I had orange.

I found out that my friend was also doing his own share of divide and conquer. He had an expansion below my middle expansion and another right below orange's starting point. Not long after that, I see the words "Player 4 eliminated" He just finished off the last of orange protoss..
Meanwhile, I took off and went to the lower left with another 5 overlords hoping to find his base but instead I found blue so what the heck.. I destroyed the expansion. The battle was intense and storm killed a lot of my hydras. It took another wave of 24 Hydras to finish off that base with 15 left after the "Player 3 eliminated." appeared.
At this time, we were desperate for resources, the map has been mined out!!
I build more Hydras and take out his two undefended expansions. His main was in the lower right. He says "Yeah, come on to my main base and try destroying it."
Taking up the challenge, I fill all my 19 overlords with Hydras (I had about 40 more Hydras but no more overlords =(
and sent them to his base. Was I surprised! I was met with defilers, mutalisks, hydralisks and TONS, maybe 20 sunken colonies!!!
I destroy most of his forces with that attack and about 4 sunkens...
I go: "Wait for 2nd wave!"
My second wave dropped behind his base which I found was undefended. It had 16 overlords filled with Hydras. I destroyed a bunch of his buildings and a lot of his Hydras and everything but I was soon destroyed. he had a base with a den, a pool, 17 sunkens and a defiler mound left. I'm like, yess, wait for my third wave, which was a joke. I had 30 minerals left and nothnig to send so I send 6 overlords filled with a couple of zerglings and drones. I manage to destroy the defiler mound before he killed everything.
We were desperate. The battle ended with a win for him when
he invaded my main with his last 6 Hydras, my sunkens killed 5 but due to Plague, they all died. The last 2 sunkens he killed by a cleverly placed Swarm over his Hydra as he consumed his overlord and plagued my last sunkens. I had no more units and he had 1 Hydra to finish everything, crap... =)
I conceded. It was a very fun game and I should've kept some troops in reserve or at least not attacked with my drones hehehehe.
Ok, tell me how'd u like the report and tell me what I could do to take out the 17 sunkens hehehe (of course using zerg on straits)
