Mogalin and Bob_The_Newt VS aP_tACtIcS and [5th]Barrett |

Introduction: Hello and welcome to Mog's first BR. Since it owns so bad and already deserves a ten, I won't include pics (Actual reason for lack of pics: aP would only ally if I BR'ed it but I wasn't planning to BR it so ... ). Anywho, this is my first BR but my HTML skills are out of this world. OK, even of this chit chat ... I now present to you: |

The map was "Azure Plains." It's a neat 'lil 6-player 128 x 96. Many expansions linked close together made for intense fighting. Bob's first comment was "Hey, these plains aren't Azure!" |

EARLY GAME:
Bob and I both drew dual terrans. aP selected "covertly" Protoss at the last second. [5th]Barrett got Zerg after selecting them at the last second. Bob and I quickly established some barracks and academies, and we were off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of "Let's double rush [5th]Barrett." Our super strategic strat worked like a charm... until some lurkers rolled up onto the scene.
:(
We're dead, right?

Mogalin (me!) and Bob_the_Newt were prepared - we had plenty of energy reserved in the ComSat Stations. We located and eliminated the enemey threat. [5th]Barrett was reduced to one hatchery hidden off somewhere which was swiftly eliminated and he was out of the game. |

Bob_the_Newt and Me (couldn't put in red :( ) figured the game was in the bag. But aP, a 1200 ladder player, proved to be an extremely hefty challenge! Bob_the_Newt and I had to do a bit of strategy rethinking. If the mighty Protoss have such effective infantry killers like Dark Templar, High Templar, and Reavers, we would definitely have to switch strats. Did we? You will soon find out. |
|
|
|
|
This is a poor, poor excuse for a Rhynadon! |

Switch strats? Why? That's not cost efficient! We decided to simply mass infantry while aP dominated the map and amassed such excellent infantry slayers like I previously mentioned. |

When we began to notice we were losing, Bob_the_Newt decided to blame out problems on his new dog ... I however, took our losing like a man, and fought hard to come back. Things were looking ugly, and aP had a very large amount of troops ... |

aP then decided to move his troops into my base. My legion of marines did little to hold off the dragoons en masse and occasional High Templar. DTs were used as well. The Dragoons made that weird noise they make when they shoot, Gauss Rifles were fired dealing a whopping 4-5 damage against the enemy and the "Fachooms" of a Dark Templar's Warp Blades were heard aloud. The Terran stronghold was falling fast ... will Bob_the_Newt make it in time? |
|
|
A new question popped into my mind: Was Bob_the_Newt coming at all? My answer was quickly answered:
Mogalin: Help me foo! Bob_the_Newt: I'm countering foo! Mogalin: I'm dead.
Bob_the_Newt's counter was super lousy ... aP defended against with with 6+ DTs and 6+ Dragoons.
I came to my brilliant conclusion we had lost. |

Bob_the_Newt was sticking to his story that his dog lost him the game. He promptly left after aP visioned us. Bob saw incoming several archons (3/3/3).
I lifted off my CC and aP and I had a quick chit chat. He said he would ally victory me if I made a BR and that he trusted me to do so. Well, here we go, I did it!
Great game aP and [5th]Barrett! |
