Prologue:

As I got to know my squad mates, I realized that a lot of them liked hunters alot. I managed to convince one (~Nb~TheGame) to face me on Lost temple. That game was a mirror image of Part 1. Early ling SCV munching followed by 6 lords Hydra drop. Even with tanks it made no difference.

He insisted on a rematch, this time on BGH. He was faster this time and bunkered up real good so my lings were denied their lunch. Seeing this I teched up to mutes and crushed his line from the air. He sent his tanks and rines straight to my base just as more mutes were coming out. My lings got their lunch with the help of the mutes and he left the game.

I didn't want to report fully on these games because it was too much been there, done that. I went in search of a public game on a different map.

Map:
Opposing city states 98

Players:
~Nb~Grimjack randomed as blue Toss north-west position
SirCamOl chose purple Terran south-west position

If we are marked to die…

I had no clue whatsoever about the layout of the map. Since it was a 2 player I figured he would be in the mirror position as I was relative to the center of the mini-map. I waited for my seventh probe and got a surprise.

"Zippy, is that you?" I asked.

"Yes executor"

"Good to have you on-board" I replied. " build a pylon and recon the enemy at these coordinates"

Off he went in unchartered territory hoping to find the enemy before they found us. I ordered a gateway followed by an assimilator. What Zippy found would tell me how to proceed. My build order was somewhat off however as I familiarized myself with my base area. The comm crackled to life.

"Executor, I am in the terran base and he already has one barracks with a second one on the way and... aaaackzzzzt".

Blinking back tears at Zippy's untimely demise I swore I would write his epitaph with SirCamOl's blood.

The fewer men, the greater share of honor...

At this time I had a zealot and warped in a cyber core. When that came in I got dragoon and sent both him and the zealot to my choke where they met 4 marines just as they got there. My zealot killed them all with covering fire from the dragoon taking only shield damage. He then took up position at the choke, flexed his muscles and stood watch, awaiting more.

My robotics facility came in shortly after my second goon and I warped in a shuttle immediately. I got a support bay and scouted his rear with the shuttle when it arrived. The coast appeared to be clear so I returned just in time to pick up the reaver. I also received another goon at this time which I also sent to the choke after ordering a new shuttle.

When the shuttle was about midway I see a purple mass showing in my base area from the right. I realize with horror that there must be another ramp somewhere in northeast allowing him to sneak marines in. He had about 8-10 of them. My last goon to come out engaged them and that's when he made the mistake that cost him the game. He engaged my dragoon instead of going straight for my workers. This allowed my other 2 dragoons to engage and my zealot came in from behind them psi-knife glowing. He must have had them on attack move because only the first goon died as I shift-queued his marines. The zealot, battered and bloody after that fight took a deep breath, straightened up and began patrolling the area along with the two other dragoons.

"He will make a good dragoon one day" says one.

"Indeed".

I arrest thee of … Cheating?

I gave the pilot the go ahead for his drop. Seeing a factory, I decided I was going to let the reaver down just enough to fire a shot. My first victim was a vulture, good, no tanks. After my first pass which killed mostly troops, The reaver returned to the shuttle to regenerate and I took the time to order up another reaver from the fac. That is when he said it.

"What kind of cheat code you using?"

I didn't reply immediately as I was busy convincing his SCVs to eat some more scarabs.

"Just a reaver rush." I said a bit later.

"yeah right "

My second reaver came in from the other side and took some fire from bunkers as I discovered the rest of his base. He joined his buddy on the ground and they began to lay waste to the base from the inside out. The shuttle who brought him left for my base to prepare for an expansion if need be.

"I'll find a player that doesn't cheat". He said as he left.

Comments.

  1. Sorry this isn't a better game. At least its on a different map.

  2. Never attack an opponents choke defense when you can attack his peons.

  3. I tracked him down afterwards to try to explain my strat but he wouldn't have it.

  4. Was he a newbie? His bunkers seemed well placed for a ground war but he was really surprised at early reavers.

  5. Maybe the heavy losses he took because of his no-micro technique caused him to think my units were invincible.

  6. Being called a cheater really sucks.

Cheers
