Some days are good, some are bad, and some are family reunions. This is a story about redneck justice.
Today I was a little off kilter. I was finishing up trying to find the /stats command on good ol' Love when the game started. Unfortunately, I didn't get to find out his race as the game started.
So, my opponent effectively randomed on me, and the latest loss I had was against zerg, so I followed a hybrid opening of 8 depot, 10 Rax, 13 Rax.
Deion goes scouting and notes a big, bad probe coming out of 6:00.
Toss.
Great. I screwed up my build. I immediately jump on making gas, cancel my second marine, float my rax to block the choke, and start a bunker next to my depot on the ramp.
Deon can't get in to the enemy base to scout. It's not his fault. 3 Zealots blocked the choke. So I sit him in the enemy natural, giving me information if the enemy decides to expand or attack.
At my base, I easily build my 3 marines and pop them in the bunker. The choke is effectively closed. I'm up to 20 total supply when I begin my 2 factories. I keep pumping SCVs and concentrate on not hitting my supply max.
Just then my opponent strikes! Deion, minding his own business, gets attacked by the 3 zealots. But instead of running, Deion gives a head fake and blows past the defensive line, breaking through to the enemy base. He gives me huge recon. He's just beginning a cyb core, has a forge, double gate, and assimilator. It looks like early upgrade action for a ground war strategy.
Good. I can deal.
Sadly Deon is clotheslined by one of the zealots, while another sticks him.
Deion: 'My bigger brother is gonna whup your sorry asses. Aaargh.'
Zealot: 'Not in this lifetime, puny human.'
After the 5th vulture comes off the line, I decide it's time for some payback. I don't like it when my buddy Deon gets jacked up by some dipshit alien scum who's missin' a piehole.
We're gonna cause some trouble. I send the group down to the enemy base and run into some serious stoppage. A mixed group of zealots and dragoons end my otherwise successful raid (successful in the fact that they already laid their mines all over my base). Unfortunately they all died.
Cletus: 'Jes you wait. My big brother is gonna tan yer hide, real good! Aaaargh.'
Dragoon: 'Die.'
So the next group of vultures is ready to go, but before I send 'em out, I set a little surprise on the ledge. I send out a siege tank to the cherry spot on my plateau (the southern-west most part of my base). You are NOT going to siege a terran in. Ever.
So I send them toward the bad guys, and they shoot at me. And I run back toward the mines and the siege tank.
Bork (think Arnold in the Terminator): 'This is as far as you go. You have hit the wall.'
Dragoon: ???
As they back off, I send the raiding group due south, and proceed to mine his natural. Follow vultures at your own peril.
Time for some payback. I shoot into the choke and get hung up on a High Templar. A surprised look on his face will forever be etched in Cletus' brother's mind. As the templar turned and ran, a grenade blew him in the air, stunning him.
Sweet southern justice prevailed, as the hoverbike proceeded to run the templar into the ground.
-Continued | | Battle Shots! | Deon busts out a first-class deke and shoots through the gap.
Deion: 'Uh oh. I got the goods, but how do I get out?'
Cletus: 'She-it! Them thar goonies been waitin fer us!!'
Come to papa, you alien scum...
Cletus' Brother: 'Wonder how fast this bike goes? I also wonder how it takes an impact?'
