From what I know all the games between these two follow the same basic pattern: Both players seem about equal strength, with similar expansion numbers and such, but then YRM pulls something out of his ass at the end and pulls off a victory. Right? Please correct me if I'm wrong since I've never actually watched you two play each other.

If I played that game over again, I know how to save my main now... due to some tricks I have learned.
In THIS game, which was an awesome game. I was defending all the expansions in the south with templar and a handful of Carriers for a while before I took the center.
Fractal was hurting me with his drops, but I was able to wipe out the shuttles and drop force on most of the drops, which, when you add it up, cost him as much as me, but doesn't give him more expansions.
I thought it was funny when Fractal "jokingly" accused me of being a Carrier whore when I had used every single Protoss unit this game. Alot of them started out as Fractal's though, and I saved bundles on upgrades thanks to the Dark Archons (a lesson I learned getting beat in a close game by DinoDin).
By the end, I had 216 supply and TONS of excess cash with every upgrade... but Fractal had OUTSPENT me by 1000 min/gas. Wierd. Expand, expand, tech, contain, get the better of encounters, expand, contain, wipe them out.

Now this was a game...this is the one that lead YRM to call me "drop boy". There are no words to describe how many reaver/High Temp/Dark Temp drops I did...but YRM busted it out with the carrier+arbiter death fleet.
And the funny this is, after my last drop got beaten down, I switched to 4-stargate carrier + corsair production, with 3 High Temps in a shuttle for storm support...but I forgot an observer

Persian, YRM's been pimping me lots lately...but I want to try my new & improved zerg vs. him. But don't expect me to win one anytime soon.

Why go Carriers late game vs Fractal? Hmm... he's shuttling in tons of units that OWN ground... hmm... what kills all of that, and the shuttles, AND wins late game matchups... hmm... I was starting to set up a 6 stargate center in the west after I took down your expansions just in case you won the air war and I needed to put all that cash to use, I really should have had more production in the event that my arbiter tactics failed.
After struggling early though, I think I was over 200 supply for the last 20 minutes of the game, without building units.
My favorite part about playing Fractal is you never know who's gonna win. It let me react to your drops and attacks like I was ProZerg-Hybred or something. |
