He's back. Oh yes he's back.
phear, ladies and gentlemen, for the CattleBrusier has returned with a vengance.

All the best,
Fractal_Wave
wishes his "mediocre" reports could be this nice

#2 YourRoleModel (92.np2.np.dialup.nauticom.net)[7077]
Nice work... I'll be great to see you getting more readers now that the site's really caught on. Anyway, I am a mediocre writer at best, and I have to rely on my strength in graphics and some humor to create my reports. You however have a skill with language.

I hope that some of the good examples here tonight encourage people to play to their own strengths. Try new things, but don't expect to match prose with an English Literature major overnight... and in my case, I hope that a degree in design and years and years of practice can't be duplicated by someone with Windows Paint.

Thanks for writing again CB! I came here to read after losing every game I played tonight... and this cheered me up.

#3 Mark4 (1Cust57.tnt28.tco2.da.uu.net)[7079]
CB, you spoke about needing to take a "movie" of the game. Fear not, technology has caught up with your ideas. Do a search for "hypercam" on the web and download it for free. With this program you can take a AVI movie of everything that happens on your screen, then extract screenshots later. I've used it myself with good results. Be aware that for anything better than one screenshot per second you need a very serious computer (I was creating lag at 4 screenshots per second on a pII 400).
#4 ~Pro[c]ZerRan~ (brindamour.yukon.net)[7080]

I loved the little comments, like the color of hydralisk spit. And the 'little know' spot that was a home-brew map.
#6 Raistloaf (jung.ti.telenor.net)[7085]
Objective, intense and a great read, especially for zerg-lovers.

Offensive sunkens in that way - stylish ;)

Btw, neither of the players teched to hive ?
I would think that an offensive nyldus could be viable here too, but hmm, what was that game speed ?

This map seems nice, and the strategic comments from the *writer* are interesting and crystal clear.
Warmup ? wow...

#8 MasterOfMordor (cacheengine2.mosquitonet.com)[7087]
Excellent. What you lack in graphics, you more than make up in words. That was by far over "mediocre". If only every BR writer could word phrases the way you do. YRM, look out. You got some competition! GL to both conestents... and it's nice to have you back CB.
#9 ~CattleBruiser~ (ip80.herndon24.va.pub-ip.psi.net)[7089]
Hey thanks everyone! I'll take those comments to heart when I write my next report. I would have given myself an eight for this one; I hope everyone's judging it fairly and not because of the author.

I'll check out the hypercam as well... another thing I considered was piping the game out to a videotape, and then catching it as an AVI by sending it back in. Then I could also sell "mark4's Manic Maneuvers" for $19.95 over the Net.

BTW, I'm a CS/MUS major, not English, so I guess my next report will be a Java applet which reconstructs the entire battle into a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure game, allowing you to see what migh have happened if the foolish commanders had used your strategy, all back up by a heart-pumping Latin disco funk soundtrack of course. :)

Don't hold me to that.
#10 Dev (reshall-137-232.oit.edu)[7091]
Nice job, CB. (:
#11 Mark4 (1Cust28.tnt28.tco2.da.uu.net)[7096]
Damn! Manic Maneuvers! Oh, and CB, Death before Disco.

"...Less educated Terran marine...."

Why I oughtta... :)

Despite that harsh remark, you're still my hero, what a comeback.

Great Report CB! I am sure that I speak for all of the readers of this site, in saying that its awesome to have you back. Yes it seems that since YRM's report all other reports get a -1 to it. That's just the evolving attitude of the raters that we all have to deal with I guess.
#15 TheRubberDucky (dfiatx100-044.dsl.gtei.net)[7110]
You know what would make the greatest BR's in history? A game that both YRM and CB watched =] Then they could combine there powers and make the greatest BR in the world! THey could continue and TAKE OVER THE WORLD!! BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHA

ANYWAY, just an idea..
#16 Orange-Fungus (sktnsk01d05070141.sk.sympatico.ca)[7160]
Woah, usually people comment about the game, not just the writer, oh well i wasnt playing anyway... rubberduckydude u mist the U in your Bwuhahahahahaahahahaha, that would have been correct =)
#17 Ash (209.110.158.1)[7211]
It's great to have you back CB! If this is a warmup, I can't wait until the main event.
#18 Mr. Merf (dial-up220.twistedpair.net)[7260]
The game itself might not have been an especially big deal.., but you wrote an excellent report on it=]
The biological and geographical commentary was both the icing and the cake!
#19 anal-banana (research02.gate.nec.co.jp)[7269]
Hm, this report deserves much better than an 8.3!! Rating standards need to become consistent. I've seen reports with 9's that wouldn't compare to some of the 7's I see now. Are the standards getting higher? If so, that's a GOOD thing, but please be consistent!
If this report and YRM's get 8's, and Dev and Heartcutter get 7's, it had better be HARD to get a 7!! Make gold bengalaas a prize to be earned.

I'm really psyched for the idea of a dev written, yrm illustrated report... go for it guys!

Finally... ~CattleBruiser~ has come back to battle reports dot com!
and now, with the millions of CB's fans chanting HIS name:
Cattle! Cattle! if yah smelllllllllll...
thanx for comin' back CB
#21 .Praetor (port-sac19.cwo.com)[7357]
Compare the comments on this report to all CB's other reports =).

Also, there is really no need for competition between YRM and CB. They both have different styles. YRM has the comedyPython references and illustrations. CB has awesome writing and a sense of the amazing.

Nothing like a little variety in your br diet =).
