I love reading Heartcutter's reports, and that's the bottom line. I studied the reports of others as I slowly learned the art of crafting a descent battle report. Of the reports I studied, the works of Heartcutter, Cattlebruiser, Mark4, .Praetor, and Johnny_Vegas really had me enthralled.
Heartcutter is the Stone Cold Steve Austin of www.battlereports.com... either that, or a young Dirty Harry.
Anyway, I posted this question earlier, but if Mark4 or Heartcutter has any advice on "timing"... I'd love to hear it or see a link to a site that gives concrete timing advice. I know it's a result of practice, but there have to be some constants. |

Urk.. I demand to challenge ghost~lizard for his place as captain ;-<!!!! j/k When do you guys ever log on. The closest thing I have gotten to as of late for playing against a good player is when I 2v2d vs mark4. We were pretty even in the macro department but he had slightly better unit control so he was he did better than me but I've caught on to some new ideas I want to try out. Frankly I'm sick of the newbiefests that are commonly referred to as pubbies and I was wondering if I could play some of you guys, get owned repeatedly, and perhaps get some form of game together.
I'm thinking about going ladder (I hear map hackers are a real challenge ;/ ) once my comp gets fixed, or if it gets fixed, and I just want to see how I measuere up. Any takers?

Two quick things:
1: I'm attempting to build a trainer mission for cloning lockdown. It should allow up to 4 people to train at the same time (I hope...). You'll have to bear with me for a little bit as I learn the campaign editor interface and all that good stuff, but it should help your terran game by a fair amount (as well as mine).
2: The origin of the name Heartcutter came from waay back to my miniatures gaming days. Before RTS, there was Warhammer tabletop minatures gaming. I played it and I was hooked. I spent a lot of time painting miniatures, collecting, and playing the Orcish horde. I had an Orcish unit of 12 lead by the ignoble Ruglud (There was a games workshop miniatures pack that featured all of these models).
So when WCII came out, I played a little bit under the name Ruglud, but didn't like how it looked onscreen. The name Ruglud SOUNDS cool, but just doesn't have the impact when you have to read it. From there, Heartcutter was born.
So that's the background. I've always liked orcs, and I'm hoping that SCII is going to have orcs in space. |

Miniatures! COOLNESS... I used to DM an AD&D campaign for about three years and always tried to include miniatures if possible to help the players understand where they were in relation to the enemy.
It'd be cool if there was a wildly popular online game like a MUD, but more interactive, that let players Dungeon Master much like you'd play Starcraft, and the player characters would play like in Diablo... that would rule.

| A british friend of mine tried to get me into warhammer 40k, but I found that it costs A LOT of money to maintain. I was already sickened by wasting all my money on hte now dead game of magic:the gathering so I didn't play, but I've always been interested in it. I also played a few games with my uncle of reg warhammer, and we musta played 2 hours and we never even finished our games. If anything the length of games and the cost of all the models (a lot of htem were like 40 bucks) kept me from playing ;-<. Oh yeah, and a 2 year old can paint better than me ;). |

Magic may be alive, but not in my redneck community. We used to have a comic book store where we all met and played, but it simply got closed down. Also, I simply got bored of magic because all the new sets were just remaking old cards. I prided myself in making original deck ideas, but with all remake cards I simply ran out of ideas. It got boring. In the end I had a lot of cards I wanted to sell and no one to buy them. To my credit though I did win 3 of the 7 local tournaments I played in and got top 8 in all but one, but you know what the prizes were? MORE FRIGGIN WORTHLESS CARDS!! GRRRRR.. Well now I've lost about half of the good cards I have cuz my siblings mess with them and because I'm a poor organizer, so I can't make a decent deck, I can't sell my cards, and I ended up wasting tons of money. Frankly I don't want that to happen If i ever played warhammer 40k.

| Cool report. As a Zerg player, I must say I get really tired of all those zergling rushers out there giving Zerg a bad name. The ling rush is certainly a good opening move in many cases, but if it doesn't absolutely destroy your opponent in the first couple of waves, GIVE UP ON IT AND DO SOMETHING ELSE! If this guy had had the sense to capitalize on his early gains, perhaps by trying containment or rapid expansion, this BR would have been a lot longer. |

Latency=imbalance
At least, thats how i feel.
I tried an experiment a while back, 4 games with latency at 0 and for with it at full. I was terran, opponent was zerg. We are pretty evenly matched for skills and we were playing over a lan (thus no real lag). I won all 4 no latency games, i lost 3 of the latency games. You decide.
Something entirely different: Warhammer rules!!!
