As a poker rank amateur, I rate this at about 80% comprehensibility without looking at the glossary... interesting insights on good play, hmm. Different style, even from the earlier poker reports.

| Sure it ain't Starcraft, but it is wel written report on an interesting game, though al little too much use of poker-lingo. Solid 8, even disregarding the draught. |

Okay, a critique:
It's pretty spectacular for a first report. I've been meaning to add some templates and tools for poker reporters, and add poker as a type of report and all that jazz. Annnnnnd I feel pretty bad that it took me a month to discover this. Whoops.
The introduction to poker seemed to get in the way of the report, and all that talk about M's and Q's is great for the poker geek (that doesn't already know it) -- but it puts the novice readership off. Your M affects your play, but you can say this when you write your hands. Like, why pushing 88 is now a good idea. Oh, and probably explain what a push is.
So explaining what all that poker-lingo means before using it the first time is probably a good idea too.
The format worked pretty well, and I was pulling for you at the end there. Running into aces when you're shortstacked always sucks :[

Decent report
too much odds talk
i think instead of saying something like 2:18:1 or something you can just make the intuitive argument to why you should fold, raise, or call a certain hand. Also you might want to briefly explain some of your terms at the beginning; M, Q, pot odds, to those who aren't as knowledgeable about poker. Other then that it was pretty good- really small stakes tournament. |
