I don't play 40k and I am so confused. What do the diffrent units do? What spells are ready to use? Why are Fanatics better then Knights? I don't understand so it's ok to take a tiny bit of time to explain why: "Knights, while powerful, have a weakness to such n such unit like Fanatics which do more damage or are faster. Etc. Etc." Nothing too long but at least try to help a reader who doesn't know anything at all to at least grasp a concept of why one unit kicks more ass then the other. Use Starcraft as a comparision. I do that sometimes. A Knight is like a zergling while a Fanatic is like a zealot. I dunno.

Also, spelling. Always double check your spelling through a spell checker AND through a proof reader, somebody who at least has a good grasp of the english langauge.

To learn how to use HTML, I highly suggest the Guides section where there is plenty to read about HTML and it's uses.

Now for the good stuff. =p From what I could understand, it seems like deployment is a huge factor. If you had been able to deploy last then you would have stacked your troops better I'm sure but since those Fanatics were all on the same side as your Knights they got wasted right away before you could use them. I've been in spots like that. Pictures DO help though and I would have loved to have seen some minitures being tipped over. =p

I give it a 3.

Why do people post their reports before asking for help T.T There are guides and a forum for a reason.

You have to first upload the pictures to the BR.com server using the report centre. Then the URL you use in your HTML would be:

http://www.battlereports.com/users/[X]/[Y]/[Z]

where
[X] is your user name
[Y] is the directory in the report centre where you uploaded
[Z] is the picture name

Everything is case sensitive.

Other than that, I don't have much to add to Mr. Reaver's useful suggestions. I didn't see any spots where the English was terrible, but there was one spot where you obviously didn't proofread and left the report in mid-thought:

"In the magic phase we utterly stopped them cold, dispelling everything they cast, like"

And the listing of the deployments was visually distracting. Perhaps a table?

I'm baffled as to how a two-turn game takes three hours to play.

Sorry, fantasy. I don't really play that kind of stuff so I get confused easily and now that a site is provided to learn more about 40k I can actually GO and read how the rules work. When you introduce something and it's YOUR first time explaining, doesn't matter if EVERYBODY knows the game, it's still nice to give a short brief on what something does. I know everybody knows Starcraft but you still see people explaining why they got say, High Templar vs a Zerg player, for the psi storm. See what I'm saying?

If you need any help at all with future reports here's my email and my AIM

If you need help with something, post your question in the forum on in another report's comment section. If you had done that you could have had your answer within a day and included images in the report (which you seemed to want to do.)

Don't tell us about your next projects at the beginning of the report. Do that at the end. Your introduction should make us stay to read and give us some information about the game to come.

Speaking of information, provide some for the game you're reporting on if it isn't BW. You could maybe get away with not going into much info with war3 too, but most other games just give some basics like what units do what and so forth. That way you don't lose the reader because they're lost.

And please don't just give a link to a website and leave it at that. If you want to let a website do the bulk of the teaching that's fine, but you have to at least give some basic info like what the units you're talking about are and do.

Yeah without an explanation of units and their abilities and all that this is very difficult to follow. I didn't understand any of the units, or how any of the spells or rolls or anything else worked. I kept having to force myself to stay here and read this, which is never something you want your reader to have to do. Now, I'll admit I have a bad record of reading non BW reports so some of that may be just that, but I have enjoyed many a report on games I have never heard of because of the way they were presented. You need to bring your reader into the world you're talking about, not just assume they're already there.

You need a lot more substance. Which going into detail about the units and their abilities and adding pictures will definitely do.

On the plus side, you seemed to do a pretty good job of describing the action in a reasonably easy way to follow (if I understood what was going on right :/). But I think you should take a little time to learn some HTML (use the "Guides" section on the menu on the left hand side of the site) so you can seperate out the sections a little better.

I think you have talent, and definitely seem to have ambition to keep working so I really hope you will.

Now for the rating. I hit most of the important points in my other post and anything I missed I'm pretty sure psy and NewbEye got.

More explanation, more substance, and some pictures and you'll probably get gold. For now, I'm going to give this a three because I really just can't get enough out of it to rate it a silver. :/

Warhammer Fantasy is a game that plays closer to medieval battles rather than 40k. deployment is one of the most important phases. a really good army CAN be duffed by bad deployment

Here are some explanations: Chaos Knights are awesome, the most feared thing in the entire game. Even Veteran Hobbyists tremble at the sight of them. They are endowed with good armour (2+), are strong, tough, and ride the dreaded Chaos steeds. Normally, Horses are only strength 3, but Chaos horses are strength 4, giving a great edge in combat. One option is to make one legion of Chaos Knights Chosen by the gods, giving them Chaos armour- (1+ armour save), and plus one attack per model. As if this isn't enough, they come with the mark of Chaos undivided, allowing them to reroll leadership tests. But to make them better, I have marked them with the mark of Nurgle. This Mark turns their bodies into half rotted corpses, yet they feel it not. They thus cause FEAR, sending their enemies running before them. However, they are 275 points with all these upgrades for five knights.
Goblins suck. It is a fact of life. While they are 2 points apece, the cheapest in the game, they still suck, as there is a 2% chance that Goblins will kill a chaos knight. The creators of the Orcs and Goblins Codex then decided to add in fanatics and netters. Netters makes it very hard to hit the Goblin Unit in Close Combat. And then there are Fanatics. They are also feared, because they inflict one D6 (six sided die) strength five hits, no armour save. Wow. No prizes for guessing why they killed that Chao Knight Unit.
