yes, try please. Lack of pics is really no problems, some text onlies can be really good. Your writing was good. The game was utterly horrible. If you had done this on a good game, it would not have taken that much more time, and you could have a decent report. =/

However noticing your last post, auther, I suggest you reevaluate your approach. I'm not that good at Starcraft. Zerg~Ling, and Eldritch cant vouch for that, but hey I still try when I write reports. I've gotten a few eights. The nine eludes my clumsy grasp but getting nines and tens is not whats important. You seem to focus too much on what your rating will be. You ask for a three, and therefore wrote a three. Next time don't necessarily ask for a 10, but act like thats what you're writing. What is important is simply entertaining, even if it is for a few, or even one. This report, I skimmed. I didn't read a damn line after "I want a three because thats what I feel this report will be." If you are just going to waste space I'm going to put you in a concentration camp (aka The Warsmith Bordello of highclass showgirls).

Well, I personally have never written a report with the intention of it getting a 10. I don't think about the rating it'll get when I'm writing, just whether the readers will enjoy it. I mean, once it's written I can roughly tell what it's worth and what it will receive but that's not the driving force.
You don't need to be, well, even that terribly good at starcraft to do a br. Don't get me wrong, it's great to read a report by someone who knows what they're doing. But, it's not neccesary.
As far as getting a good game, if you can't play one (I have the same problem, all games I play well end under 10 minutes :(, and you normally can't do much with them when they come weeks apart), you can get lots of replays of good players. If you can't find any yourself, and see me on b.net, I'm sure I can be convinced to let you have one of the thousands I have... |

All my reports have been written with the intention of getting a 10, although only one, my lastest, has achieved it.
All for it "seeming wrong" to write about someone else's game, do you also believe it to be wrong for a filmmaker to create a film about, say, the Royal Assassins of the Russians Tsars without actually having been a royal assassin for a russian tsar himself? Or, perhaps, is it ethically corrupt for a reporter to write an article about the Middle Eastern Terrorist Threat without having been a middle eastern terrorist?
Grab a couple replays and spend, oh, 2-4 hours writing one of them up. You can do it! |
