1st!
You have talent. Both this report and your last one are some of the best text onlies I've ever read. I have no problem visualizing what is happening, despite the lack of pictures. Great job! |

| .....The highest rating i have ever given before is a 9 and that was only once:/ It had pictures, humor and everything. This does not have pictures and maybe a little bit of humor here and there. Anywayz, .. i am gonna give this a 10. I dunno what it was, maybe it was the fact that u were the first person i knew here who played wgt, but I loved ur writing. The game was intense and PERFECT for a br. It was nice to see stuff like "sense his dt rush failed he was likely to go speed zeals" wich u can only get from an experinced player. The length was perfect and you were detailed about every second of the game. It was a VERY close game and bot hof u were pretty evenly matched. |

Keep up the good work and keep writing interesting and skilled reports. :D Less T players? i should start playing more this season cause i can't stand TvT and thats all i usually ever get:D
>>>>>On an amusing note, I played a Japanese terran player who was undefeated and claimed B2 high. I DT rushed him and then refused to rematch. Mad bad manner on my part, but his angry whispers for 10 minutes afterwards made it worth the loss of my integrity :)<<<<<
U bastard:P i was in that situation except the guy did let me have a rematch... revenge is good;) |

Well, another great text only :)
If only you'd stop calling them "canons", you'd be going strong :D
And good choice on keeping to the short but sweet theme, I've never seemed to get around to doing that.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Heh ling, I think I call them "cannons" about half the time. The problem is I don't react to the "canons" that slip through when I proof read :D
BTW, ling, I am in the process of making my next BR, and sometimes I wish I could throw in a screen or two. The "bad referrer" error really gets to me. You don't happen to know a way around it, do you? |

| Well, in either case, I'll be getting back to the US around early July and will have a normal internet provider then. So you might see some pictures here in the future. I will keep them mostly text still though, so no worries about them coming out less frequently. |

| Like everyone else I'm loving it, but poor grammar takes your writing down a peg or two. Have someone else proofread your material. |

But whoever you give it to DON'T GIVE IT TO OVERTHEUNDER! I just saw his comments and they made me cry. No offense, Under.

| Micro, can you please point out some fo the grammar errors. I might have missed a word or two when I proof read, but I was sure my report did not have anything in it that would qualify it as having "poor grammar." |

More strategy discussion: does no one O-cannon in PvP anymore? Did they change the cost or build time of forges or cannons since way back?
Also, I have to question your decision not to counter-attack after his speed-zealot attack. He'd probably paused production to build his nexus and more probes - and since he went DT he probably spent some money on cannons or observers as well. An immediate counter-attack (or when speed finished) may or may not have been successful, but you could always run away if you see many troops.
Also, I'd be careful making too many archons against anyone but a muta-ling zerg player. They're only cost-effective against zealots and DT in a PvP battle. |

I guess I could comment on the actual report as well. I enjoyed it, the writing was good. Mistears, it reminds me of Mark4's AQD3 reports as well.
I'm a little disturbed to see Zerg~Ling lecturing you about 'canons'. Not because it bugged me, but because I didn't notice the mistake while I was reading :).
If this was a little less polished and with a bit less insight it'd still be worth a 7.
But a 9 means a fantastic report only a few steps from a 10, so this gets an 8.
P.S. I like your intro section that sets the mood. |

Hey Praetor. Strategy first. I could not counter because all I had at that point was dragoons...about 4-5 of them. Unfortunately, pure dragoons in low numbers have no chance against speed zealots. By the time I would get to his base, he would have a new set of speed zealots to hold me off in addition to the 4 that retreated from the attack. While my defense was strong, especially against melee units, I was in no position to attack. You can punish a speed zealot user if you got early reaver, but if all you have is goon, you pretty much have to wait until you have speed zealots of your own.
As for archons, they rock in general when they are mixed with speed zealots and goons. Also, pretty much all toss users make speed zealots later in the game, and archons help deal with those. Reavers are good vs zealots too, but late game they are not as good as templar and they die to templar, while archons all but ignore storm. |

There was nothing grossly wrong with your grammar, but the occassional mistake was an unwelcome bump in an otherwise smooth ride. Rather than point out each instance I'll just tell you why a third party editor is always best.
A study done on reading the English language proved that if you rearranged the lettering in most any single word another person could still read it with the help of context. Try it yourself, it's funny till the novelty wears off.
Also, I learned first hand that if you write something then you already know what should be there which may be slightly different from what's actually there. Pair that with the factoid in the above paragraph and (ironically) you can see that a small number of mistakes can be invisible to your eyes. It takes a lot of skill and patience to edit your own stuff perfectly.
Again, I wasn't totally turned off by it but I'd like to see your reports earn a 10. |
