Good read. I liked the Human's micro, it was impressive. But I agree that the Orc player just got lazy when he dove into the Human's base. If he had just used the units laying around, he would of won...
GJ though. Finally a WC3x report, although I still don't like the game much ;P. It would of been nice to see more humor, though. ...And a completed game as well.

Yep, very nice report. I especially liked the way you made the first headhunter look like an ogre magi and calling your riflemen footmen (Day 3 5:00). :p
Call me odd but I really enjoyed the "humorless, dry, and overly-descriptive" style. Humor may be fun, but it shouldn't be dominating and an overall tactic.

| I enjoyed this. And it's hard for me to enjoy WC3 reports because I still have yet to play it. You want to know why I liked it? The level of detail in this report was excellent. I _clearly_ understood what was going on at each moment in the report, and I sincerely feel this does a much better than than 80-90% of the reports out there of explaining what actually happens in the game. I am and always have been with Berra: reports do not have to be funny. I would MUCH rather have a report with nil to no humor than a reporter who forces it and, in the process, confuses the reader. |

Your format and layout do an excellent job of supporting the report. They do resemble Ling's reports, but your presentation gets the job done. And I really liked the way you introduce build orders (I have a thing for tables). A few syntatical and mechanical errors in writing, but you didn't make enough mistakes to damage the quality of the overall report. Just do me one favor...

I reported up to the trading of GG's. That tends to be when a game ends. I think there's a difference between reports that fast forward over superfluous action to a solid conclusion and reports that were abandoned and then fixed with a tacked on paragraph.
This report was very good, but that doesn't change the fact that it's incomplete. Even author states it's incomplete. So, it shouldn't get a rating at all just on basic principle. Rating this is like nominating a first release EA game for Editor's Choice awards. |

This report contains a summary of what happened at the end. Many reports have been rated that are mostly done and then summarized with a single paragraph at the end. This report is not wholly incomplete. It doesn't just stop. The short summary is there, and that is why it should be rated, regardless of whether the author says it's incomplete.
Now, should it get a high rating? Mostly, reports like this get silver at best. However, this thing was LONG and very good up until the anti-climatic summary. Hence, I gave it a 7.
I don't think it's a big deal, since I think both our beliefs make sense. |

Slotham, didn't my saying it was a bit too lengthy imply I had read it? I simply expressed my opinion, as I tend to favor reports that are shorter and get to the point faster, rather than drag out over build orders/creep camps/etc. Even if I'm not interested in a report I will at least skim it, otherwise what's the point of the reporter going through all the work?
And yeah, I do tend to frequent the site alot considering it's my homepage. |

Descriptive isn't bad, humor isn't good. They both add to the quality of a report. If you have a descriptive and humourous report, I will bow in homage. If you just report the facts, all your really doing is saying whats happening. You become a replay, and not only lose the reporting touch, but also that which distinguishes you from a list of facts. That is my opinion. By the way enders, how dare you place BR.com above Warsmith?
