jesus motherfucking christ i had totally forgotten this story. i had also forgotten how much it sucked. when i wrote this i didn't know too much about what really happened on D-Day, I was working mainly on stuff I had gotten from online sources and what Saving Private Ryan had depicted in C Company, 2nd Ranger Battalion's assault. it was just a kid's story.
i am surprised that so many people liked this, mainly because it just isn't that good and it's fan fiction more than anything else.
i've been working on a story for a while, and this one studies the invasion a bit closer, with better accuracy of what happened when and how it happened, and because of the good replies regarding the old story, i think i'll post this one up. of course if there are any objections, i'll keep it to myself.

| Wow, this is a really nice story. This is a compliment: this story reminded me of books like Windtalkers. I know that book isnt excellent, but of this story to match Windtalkers, written by a profeesional*not matter how bad he is) is great. |

Ugh. I hated Windtalkers. Hated,Hated,HATED Windtalkers. It had typical John Woo stuff: Slow motion, out-of-proportion(sp?) explosions, and really accurate pistols. The japs seemed to suffer from the "Let's shoot at his feet!" syndrome. AND HOW DO YOU SHRUG OFF A 155mm ARTILLERY ROUND? Even if it did look like a CHERRY BOMB explosion.
Zeal, I think it's much better if you said it reminded you of Saving Private Ryan. Windtalkers comes nowhere close to its level of godliness.

| This has to be the best beach assault stories I've ever read. Made me watch Saving Private Ryan again right after reading it. GREAT depiction, great description. Just hated that the named guys died hehe |
