Niiiiiiice report there, Decay. Pics were all right, if a bit fuzzy and (except for the beginning and end) small. Writing was good, you actually used alt-text (and used it well). Game was good, even if I expected Xaanix to play better (who the hell sends an entire army to kill a Nexus? Who even sees a naked Nexus set up by a legendarily good player and doesn't assume it's a diversion?) Nice to see Zileas kick major ass again, though.

Please spellcheck your reports before submitting them. There are several sentences in this report that make me think you never read this twice; if you're going to but in that much effort (it was a lot of effort - a long game with a lot of pictures), then you should at least ensure that your spelling and grammar are correct. There were very few, but they still impacted the overall effect. It's so annoying to see a long report get spoiled by spelling and grammar mistakes.
Also, sometimes you skipped over parts of game left me confused. I think you assumed people knew what was going on, but I was left behind. You said Xaanix quick expanded, but in the build orders, Zileas has a Nexus on 15, and Xaanix doesn't have one after 20 supply and a Robotics Factory. Did you switch the build orders, or just never mention Zileas' expansion?
If you fix grammar and spelling, and add minimaps to clear up small points of confusion, you should easily get a 9-10.

Pretty good. pics covered text a few times though, and they were fuzzy. Halfway through I lost interest in it though, sorry. But there wasnt a lot of humor, adn humor is what holds my attention.

my only beef is the lack of minimaps. Dunno if im just weird but i have a difficult time getting myself into a br if i have to symbolize the map positions in my mind from text, especially in the later stages of the game if theres anything close to good map control.

The pics were crap. Granted, some of the weird shapes with an explosion at a nice spot looked ace, but generally the ugly borders messed it all up. Try spending a few minutes defining the "style" for the report, and then using that setup on ALL your, that looks so much more professional.
And btw this is the second time in a week someone gave a ten by mistake. (I'd say ppl would leave a comment when giving a 10). Thats not very gosu.
Anyway, get War3 and I'll be a happy report reader. |

I liked the report. There was enough info to get a reasonable perspective of most of the battles and other events. Your observations also gave great insight as to why some things did or didn't work/were or weren't happening (e.g. "The Templar waiting amidst the probes was of no help, as Psi Storm was not yet done researching.")
The "Lessons learned" at the end are also appreciated. I would just like to add, along with your #5. Scout! that it was surprising to see Xaanix take so long to find the naked enemy expansion right above his (Xaanix's) troops' rally point.
I'm curious about whether you had interviewed either of the players. Some of the descriptives used (e.g. "Infuriated, Xaanix . . . Zileas, fearing . . . etc.) imply that the players were in fact motivated to act as they did, according to how they were feeling.
All in all it was a good report and I look forward to reading more of your submissions. |
