Tyranids... you chose Tyranids... I *LOVE* Tyranids!
This was all the more sweet because you chose my favourite (and only) army, and then did pretty damn well with them.
One problem that I saw, however, was with your army selection. 55 Hormagaunts would probably leave you in bad form for the Army Composition judging.
If you had, say, a squad of Raveners instead of some 'gaunts, it would've been better. They can go nearly as fast as the 'gaunts, and they'll improve your score a bit.
Simply replace 9 'gaunts with 2 Raveners w/ Rending Claws and Scything Talons. 46 Hormagaunts are still going to kick some ass, and the Raveners would be able to hurt characters/vehicles easier, aswell as drawing off some fire.
Oh well, never mind me. I'm just bitter that I missed the tournament. =(

Oh yes, one more thing.
At the next tournament (they're in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne only, right?) I'm coming to the Brisbane one. I'm sure you won't mind me sleeping on your couch, eating all your food and chatting up your (hot) friends. =o
Oh yes, pictures of your army would make this own that much more. Steal a digital camera if you have to, but I wanna see your paint job.

I have no idea how Warhammer works so this was very confusing. I picture or too of some of the units would help with visualizations. And also as funnymarx said, the maps were incomprehensible so please explain them or improve them :).

Nice report, i used to do 40k, but i stopped about a year ago now (lack of money) I only had one army Dark angels w/raven wing support, and a death wing assault squad (I just love the fact scouts can teleport terminators *cackles*)
seeing as i havnt played in a year (maybe less) i havnt seen any of the new tyranids models, or the new Tau army... if i ever get back into it, im not sure if ill stay as Dark angels... theres far to many Space marine players out there.
Oh, one last thing... before the new land raiders came out, i managed to get a hold of one of the old ones... so while everyone was waiting for them... i was busy ripping a new ass hole into everyone with the old landraider rules... anyway Gj

My friend Kevin is all about the Tyranids, he loves em dearly. I myself don't own any models, but I have played Epic quite a few times, and I think that I might like to get into it someday. I prefer Epic to War40k because I like the smaller pieces.
Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. Next time, include some pictures of your army, some digital pics of the actual games (thatd be awesome), and go into more detail on the rounds. Awesome report 8-9. |
