The game sucked yes. But I liked the writing. It was unclear in places (I would sometimes miss events just because they were covered with so few words), but it was entertaining enough to drag me through the whole report, which is something that even gold reports sometimes cannot do.

I think I've figured it out...
Fence is the First Comment God, and is angered at the false prophet (Dino Din). As such, he emphatically claims that each new report sucks.
Personally, I liked it. Some things were skipped over pretty lightly, but overall I really enjoyed it. Write more like this, but put in the extra detail, and you'll be getting golds with ease.

I think I have to organize my writing in a clear fashion. Have some structure, as opposed to free form. A few ideas...

| Nice, but emphasize what he's doing more. It sounded like he built some goons and a reaver, grabbed 3 natural, and tried for two islands, that's all. And those corsairs. Apply your writing skills to his side --- the game might have not been all that bad if you covered it. Also, a question for people... What makes a 'good game'? |

A good game is one in which...
a. Pretty much every mistake is punished swiftly and brutally.
b. There aren't many mistakes.
Basically, both players playing at their best, taking advantage of every opportunity, and not giving opportunities to their enemy without a fight. Also, a good game must have an uncertain victor up until nearly the end, or it's no good. Ideally, both players would be playing nearly perfectly until the game is decided on one decisive battle, in which one player makes a minor mistake, causing him to lose that battle and thus the game. |

Yes I'm specific, but I'm sure if you read about a good game you'll discover A and B.
Note that there are other factors contributing, but to a lesser extent. Usage of all the different units in the game in mixed forces is a big plus. Readers love to see units used to their fullest extent. Another is creative moves being employed by both sides. But neither of these will help much if both sides are constantly making stupid mistakes which go unpunished.
