You show great image ability, and this was a good report, but you could've done much better.
The pictures lacked action, they didn't show the actual explosions, and sometimes were poorly lain out.
Yet the writing was quite good, and the graphics ( plus 3-d map, woohoo! ) were excellent. Kudos on the mark, Dref, I agree with you entirely. |

Yeah, i had gotten bored of TvT so i decided to try some new stuff. Vs a lot of players this would work, at one time he had 1 tank and i had like 14 rines and 3 meds, if i had attacked then it would be gg.
Unfortunately, he wasn't a newbie so he upgraded his tanks and got lots of mech. I still enjoyed the game tho cos i got to do different things. I liked the report Sky, gw. Great pictures. |

Thiever, no one said that learning from other BR's is "a crime", and using it in your. It's just that Sky's layout and Breeze's layout looks exactly alike. Maybe if Sky tweeked some of Breeze's layout around, added some of his style, people wouldn't be making comments like:

Hmm, rather than letting pics do all the work, try describing the action a bit more. Pics should augment text not replace it. (at least thats what I got told on my first br)
I got lost in a few places, especially the final collage, but overall it was still a good report.

Many people have asked me about using my 3d map and I was telling them the following: "No, because if you use it everyone will talk about you using my work and you'll feel bad about it." Well...
And :+:jolly:+: vs. [o]Mr.X Game 2 layout ;) hehe
Anyway you are good enough at image editing like many other guys that do reports at this site. Now show that you are one of the few that have some taste and can think about a clean consistent layout yourself, I think you can definitely do it.
Some hints about designing a layout:
I've seen many reports where every pic is done in a different style as if the author wanted to show all the filters that are included in Photoshop ;). I think you can do better than them, that's the main key when thinking of a design - use very few colors (I usually have 3 main colors, one for text, one for outlines, one for background which is balck most of the time), and few filters. |

First off thanx to everyone with their constructive critiscm, it was appreciated ^^. Well this was my first br and i based it upon somone who makes the best of them.
Terran vs Terran is a very gay matchup i was hoping for a zvp with some "flair" but I guess this was what I had. I dont think having reports 5 pages long of text is any good, its pointless. I dont want to sit their reading all that crap i want it to be short and shows what happend.
Ok i made mistakes, i did make a huge one when I was proccessing into the CGI, which made it look alot gayer than what was on my comp, I was also away at the biggest fights becuz eating pizza. Also i ran out of space on my hd so couldnt bash my print screen key.
Ive been working on some strat guides for <a href="http://scn.net-games.com"> for spell casters, perhaps a tutorial or a ffa or another 1v1? I would be interested to know, thanks yo - sky. |
