It's very simple. This report IMO is the greatest 1on1 I have ever seen. I am serious. Nothing comes close. Breeze's use of graphics has me awestruck. The text blends strategy, details, and comedy. Mr.X being a gosu zerg player loses to a great toss player. I can just see all those toss players on BNET right now ready to play with confidence against the zerg.

BTW cause this protoss player played this game so well, i was just thinking that if i was Mr.X I'll probably play the macro game next time vs this guy since, he was blocking his ramp with so much defense expecting a mid game attack.
And those drops were evil but i think if you are expanding like a mofo, this guy will be using too much time concentrating with one of your bases, while you have other bases with drones to get money.
I had a very good protoss friend who also likes to do drops with zealots or a goon to take the initial sunken hit, while laying 2 storms on drones , even if i had 3 sunkens at my main, and this always severely slowed me down.
So I played one game where i tried to copy how Larry-the-Wierd used his zerg to beat Xds Grrr protoss in the bw tourneys by double and triple xpanding using sunkens to delay attacks while having mobile melee units to come to the rescue. So even though my protoss friend constantly made a ton of drops on my multiple xpansions, i was gaining money and gathering units slowly, and by late game, i had like 5 working bases to his 2 bases even though througout the game he had been shutting down my many bases. what i didnt lose out was wasting my hydras or lings to the good protoss defense at his main, but rather used them to deny expansion attempts at other mains or leaving them around to defend the expansions.
ps this isnt posted to tell Mr.X what he should do, cause he would fucking kick my ass playing with just the keyboard and no mouse but :) I just couldnt resist doing my take on this situation.

There aren't many 10-rated reports out there, but if this report had been used all along to define what a 10 was, there would be a lot fewer than there are. Yeah, it might be the best I've ever read. The level of gameplay was _amazing_. I don't play that well even when I'm dreaming. And you kept on top of it beautifully, Breeze--blow-by-blow, letting us experience the wonder of it all.
Then, as if that weren't enough, you had those 3D maps. WOW. I've seen some really pretty graphics work on this site before, but that perspective "shot" with the three hatcheries in the foreground, the temple further back, and the barely-seen lights of the Protoss camp at the far end of the map, is the first BR image that has ever made me just stop in my tracks and gawk.
Truly, you've gone above and beyond the call of duty, or whatever feeling it is that spurs people to compose these reports. |

Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way, but I don't think this really deserves a ten. It reeks of the media-hypnotized pop culture that exists today.
Here's something for everyone to try: Cut-and-paste the entire report into Notepad. Read it that way. Still think it deserves a high rating?
The truth is there are a fair number of grammar mistakes, very little wit, and it is fairly difficult to follow the action from the writing only. Sure, the pictures help a bit... But they actually hinder at some points. While the 3-D renderings of the maps are neat (and visually pleasing), the second one and onwards are unclear. In fact, I had a hard time determining that the game was even played on The Lost Temple.
Furthermore, a fair number of the pictures are entirely gratuitous. Take, for example, the zergling battle. A single picture from there would have delivered the feel of the entire battle. Furthermore, the pictures of buildings being constructed are entirely useless.
Well, I've run out of things to say, but in general I feel the extra work performed (such as the 3D renderings and Java programming) were unwarranted, unnecessary, and the effort would probably better have been used in authoring. |

| Yo LPD, as far as I know, YRM by far has a shitload of comments for his World War III FFA BRs. Last time I checked, they had the most comments. And there was a shitload. Poeir, you're partially right, the grammar was completely correct, but I was at least able to follow the game pretty damn well all the same, and the 3D pics were... abosolutely phenomenal. Nice job Breeze. Stickin' with the formula that works... good players, good graphics, and clear, concise writing. The 3d map was a nice touch.
All in all, a great effort. My only complaint was the short, choppy GIF about a third of the way through the report. If its gonna be short like that, a picture will do the trick. Then again, maybe it just didn't load completely on my machine. This is a minor detail though and I see no reason why this wouldn't deserve a 10. Nice work<i>!</i>

And it really isn't that good of an animation, because I didn't plan this when I was taking the screenshots - the only reason I made it is that this was the most impressive piece of gameplay I've ever witnessed, I can't describe why so, you should have watched it to understand =[

a word for comment#96 by poeir... (you are definitely entitled to your opinion, but I felt it a bit unjust and wanted to make a few comments regarding it)
First off, Breeze is from Bulgaria which is clear from all the comments and I don't believe their native language is english. So give him a break on the grammar. This isn't english class and what we are looking for isn't an immaculate essay but a detailed account of a riveting game which was delivered in full by Breeze. I'm sure if he had written in his native tongue it would have been quite flawless in that respect.
Secondly, eye-candy plays a central part in this report and to overlook it is to ignoring a 3 week effort by Breeze which is not fair. He busted his ass on this and that is obvious from the quality of the finished product. It is possible that you prefer a text only report, but even then it is unfair to speak negatively of the report because of it's gloss. The pictures help tell a tale that words sometime can't, the combination of both therefore offers a very strong account of a match and make for added detail to a report. Detail is the key and images coupled with text are the best way to achieve that.
Your point about there being too many unecessary images is a constructive remark which I liked and made me not totally disregard your opinions. :)
I realize this may come across aggressively and my intent is not to attack you, but rather to point out that I feel it unfair for you to sink entire report based on a few grammar mistakes and some useless photos. The fact is that if you take it for what it is and nothing more you get magnificient account of a riveting game and what else could you ask from a Starcraft battlereport? I'm not expecting Shakespeare to show up anytime soon, and I don't think anyone else does either. :) |

One word about the use of "building in construction" picts, I totally disagree with Poeir when he says they are useless as they gave me (hope I'm not the only one) a good idea of the timing in the game. And as for the number of picts in some area of the report they gave me a good idea of the micro during battles and the build up.

When I come back and do some StrifeShadow reports, now I have to break out Flash animation, 3D, clean design, the best writing I can muster and, um, sheesh, I dunno. Damnit... hehe.
At least I'll have the models for all the buildings and units... sheesh. This is damn impressive. Finally, someone pushed the envelop without simply throwing in a bunch of gimmicky stuff for only the purpose of having it in there.
You know what's cool too is that now you have this 3D map of Temple built to reuse whenever the heck you want to, oh and BTW, the design placement and treatment of the map and models with the rest of the report was really well done too!
We definitely want to get the Hall of Fame vote going again, but we'll probably have to move it, as it was causing problems on the front page.
Can't wait to see part 2. Congratulations on this successful report.

Poeir I have to say I totally agree with you that time around. You sounded a bit too hostile in your first comment but I guess I judged that wrongly. BTW I consider repeating a word twice in one sentence a mistake like you said. I do those mistakes because I don't know enough English words, but that's really no excuse I just wanted you to know the reason.And English punctuation differs a bit from Bulgarian, that sucks... I studied German at language school =[
Now I understand what you mean. And I must say I hate the way some people go nuts about Flash sometimes and maybe don't notice the mistakes in reports that have it. But I thought it would make the report complete and help people care more about the outcome of the game. And the 3d images are the unique thing I wanted to have in my report.
I hate relying just on eye-candy and sounds even if I think it's good to have them - that's why when I was writing the text I did it in notepad and tried to do my best... it seems it wasn't enough for your taste and that makes me a bit sad =[. I wanted every aspect of the report to be fine and worked very hard on that. (well except humor, I explained that to Sp|nE ^^ )
About perfect 10's (I won't comment about 9's, 8's, etc.) - Again it would be good if it was the way you said it. But I must say I have seen perfect 10's that weren't better than my report (sorry if I sound cocky or something, no offense meant). So I guess my report isn't perfect but compared to some other perfect 10's it deserves it's score.
Maybe raters should change the way they rate but it's hard with the thousands of reports that got rated already...

Nah Breeze, that was Poeir and don't worry about it, no matter how damn good your report is, you will alwasy have at least one person that says, "it could have been better."
Personally, I didn't find the writing bad at all. It was clear and concise and I was able to follow the game easily by reading it. It wasn't the fine prose of a great author, but I don't think that's necessary in a Starcraft battlereport where the focus is on how damn good the players are and not on how damn good of a writer you are... ;-)

Luck would have it that the day I check this site after a year of being drowned in other projects and a report like this comes along.
Really interesting to see how far reporting has gotten since I last remember. The days before flash, before flashy pics, and before the report made even a murmor on your speakers seems so far away; however, I am pleased to see that there has been only progress, and it's good to see all that progress be used well. Bravo Mr. Breeze. I appreciate the tastefull use of flash, 3d rendering, etc... The size of the report was a bit much - and there must have been ways to cut down on that, but once everything is downloaded a great presentation indeed. |

Oh, BTW Sp|ne, I wouldn't talk about writing. Your reports are great for their pics . . . not for the incessant and useless swearing, rudeness, and not-funny vulger jokes. | Whoa, it took me forever to read all the comments. Anyway, great report. The 3-D models were great and for once, I was given a glimpse of what Starcraft 2 may be like. They were as good as anything that Blizzard could make. and the arrows showing exactly where each attack was was better than any mini-map. The flash movie was absolutely great, and really set the atmosphere. After looking at this report, all that I can say is that I can't wait till game 2. |

Man, for a moment i believed it was a real battle debriefing at my university (Ur-Anus Tactical and Warfare University)...
