"Wow, a gold bengalaas even with my voting him a three!"

One, I don't know why that posted twice. Johnny or whoever, delete the first one. Second, I feel I would have won that game because I was grossly out resourcing him and had excellent map control. However, Zerg is my weakest race, and I have to ask, when an opponent sunkens in like that, mounts no offense, and instead only builds up a huge defense, how, as zerg, should I respond?
#2 Starco[1717]
You should have killed him. If it was me, he would've been dead easily. You need more practice.
#3 JSH[1718]
If an opponent turtles, in general the thing to do is just outexpand them. They aren't going to bother you. It sounded like you had good recon, so you can deny his expansion attempts (mutas are really good for this). After you've taken map control and are getting more money than you can spend, you can build up huge forces with your enormous resource advantage and just keep sending them at him to crack him. If he's making lots of sunkens and ignoring air defense, you can kill him easily with mutas and guardians. Cracklings also are cost-efficient vs. sunkens.

Go mass lings and muta.
usually Zerg vs Zerg is the muta/ling war. I'll usually do muta rush first, kill their expansion (if any), then expand myself and keep up with my ling (speed upgraded) production. Try not to lose your muta and go hard ling (unless he have superior number of muta, in which case you'll need muta and scourges yourself. Otherwise, go cracklings and expand everywhere. Hydra sux against lings and especially cracklings.
#5 Bob the Newt[1722]
Unless you didnt write about it, the factor you were missing in that battle seemed to be muta harassment. Vs zerg in that situation i always take my first 5 mutas (so they can kill a drone in one shot) and hit his base from all sorts of angles. He'll be forced to spread out his hydras and then you can pick them off. Just fly in, kill a hydra/drone, fly out, repeat. Unless they built a lot of spore colonies, this is very effective.
#6 Helmintes[1745]
Since you had an advantage early on, you should have never stopped harrassing him. You should have prevented his building of those colonies. What I usually do is send swarm after swarm to wear him down. Just when you think you might lose, keep trying and you'll break through. Also, you should NEVER let your opponent expand, if it's in your power. When you attacked with guardians, you should have had more. 24 with mutas and hydras to back them up are pretty much unstoppable. Go for scourge harrasment and take his overlords down left and right.

Thanks for the advice. I won a game with Zerg today using mutas to harrass and crush expansions, and cracklings to swarm his mass dragoons. I appreciate the help.

Also, use Queens! Hydras Ensnared lose much effectiveness. Broodling his Defilers, and Parasite the shit out of his OLs! That should help ya.
