At first I saw no strategy to this game, as it was all about making marines. But after a few games I learned that it was more about striking at odd positions and assaulting at unexpected fronts. Mass bunker lines are generally not a good idea, as in this game dropships are nearly invincible to bunker fire and you can simply fly them over. A mobile force of marines is the way to go, along with a few dropships to take the north and to go around defensive lines.
Overall, the version we play is a very fun map. My only grievances is that it lacks siege weapons in that you don't get tanks with siege mode, no bcs, and no ghosts. Because of the high damage rate of the marines, medics are useless as well, so the change to normal marines might add more strategy to the game, as well as battle cruisers for sieging. This game was unfair in terms of placement, France is numero uno crappiest country in EVERY game of WWI, WWII, and Diplomacy.. throw in the fact that you two were below one another and your enemies being RIGHT at your borders... they simply didn't stand a chance in hell. Oh, and I fail to understand *HOW* you guys won using... marines. Ugh, those guys suck. They're SO two seconds ago. |
