An excellent BR GRB. Easy to read, it flowed well, all the details were picked up, and the pics were amazing. Very impressive, to say the least.
My only tip? You can often put minimap updates aligned to the left or right and have text flow around them. That way there is less empty space.

Thanks for the comments YRM. This may sound strange, but I'm not sure how to do things like arrows/triangles/squares/circles etc. with photoshop. I just used the freehand pen tool because that was all I knew. Is there some sort of item in the toolbar that lets you do that?

Mog: I tried, but there just was no room for empty space. :( As far as the pics go, only a couple of them had drop shadows around them, and to my knowledge I didn't cut it off. W/ regards to the mini-map cirles, the way I do it is...
-make a circular or eliptical mask
-go to Selection-->Border
-make the border 4 or 5 pixels wide, & fill it with a paintbrush.
That should do the job. There's probably a better way to do it thought.

This report was freakin' awesome. Your collages were great and your third animated GIF with the 3 control groups of hydras getting slaughtered kicked ass.
Not only was your graphical work close to flawless (<i>I thought the background was a tad dark for black text</i>), but your writing was concise and easy to read. I was able to follow the action easily throughout the game.

Awesome report GRB, i enjoyed both equally; they were easy to follow, gave all the action and details, and made the reader feel as if he was almost there...always a plus.

PS: For that arrow and circle thing...in Photoshop, simply go to the Text tool, and select "Windings" or "symbol" as the font...you have arrows, circles, doodads and a host of other neat tools in there. (But i didnt mind the rough drawn arrows at all, it didnt detract from the pic itself)

Earth 2150 very very slow start up, got tired just playing the tutorial.
Age of Empires: BAH! Takes forever to play.
Ground Control: suppose to be good, haven't played it yet.
Shogun: Very complicated game. Battles are nice. Resource management sucks.
Some people may like slow start up games (no rush), but for me, the great thing about starcraft is the early/mid/late game aspects of it. Rushing is fun, especially when played against ppl who know how to defend and counter, which is very exciting (2v2, 3v3 games). Personally, eversince starcraft, all other games seem to be late/later/latest type of game. Hopefully, the upcoming strifeshadow would be a fast pace game from the get go. (btw, 4/5 pool ling rush is gay).
oh yeah, nice BR... but getting tired of seeing zerg swarming the toss. Pity the toss. Nice BR. Clean. Crisp. Clear.

In most of the recent Photoshops, Arrows can be drawn with the line tool. There is a box to check for arrowhead at the beginning or end, and you can determine the size and width.
To make a circle or square, movable, make a new layer, drag a circle or square marque, fill it, then reduce the selection by one pixel and delete it.
You can also use the pen tool and then stroke or fill that selection.
There is no regular circle or box tool in photoshop, so you just get used to using marque selection tools. Also, don't forget the angular lasso.

BTW, for an alternative RTS game, I hope you guys are at least following Strifeshadow enough to give it a chance when we finish the game. All of us making the game love the same things about RTS that you guys do, so the potential to make it fun is very high.

Ok noname, here it is. Benjy Compson is the eldest son of Jason Compson. I won't go over the complexities of the Compson family, but suffice to say that it's some fucked up shit. I don't have anything against you GoPhEr, but GRB sorta set you up as the heel by going back to your altercap name over and over. Also, in game one, all you did was power hydras, and people who do that often beat me. I tend to cheer for the player with the more unique strategy and powering hydras is pretty boring. In game two, you played differently, so, you know, that's cool and all, but I was already cheering for the other guy by that point. Don't take it personally, it's more like having people to cheer for or against in professional wrestling.

Try psp5 (or ver6), you can simply batch convert all jpg (or pcx) to gif. And you can use the animationshop (i guess its called so, part of psp) to create animated gifs.
I think the program u r using simply assume that you only load gifs, not jpg, so this will not work! |

Scarab, here's what you have to do: once you're at 99, quickly alt-tab out of sc and move all 99 ss to a different folder. Then you can take another 99 ss etc. Its a good idea to have your folder already set up so you just have to select the ss and move them easily.

Nice report, liked both of your "lessons in macro". the only thing i hated was that Gopher plays like a BGHer. All he does is mass. The guy needs to learn how to micro. BGH style my ass. The purpose of macro is to run your opponent down with masses of units. The only thing that counters gigantic numbers of hydra is 312892371238971238 templar or some f*cked up dweb abuse with goons..
I think both players played well; the only mistake I could discern (and this is only my opinion) was the toss getting few templar than he should.

Elendale, I think I've read Neuromancer, but I'm not sure.
Gameoverz, i think ccpp's big mistake was not taking out the 12 natural expansion. Gopher had that the whole game (well he never lost it once) and that allowed him the money he needed to tech up and overwhelm ccpp. so i think if ccpp had been a little more aggressive there he would have had a much better chance. |

Um, can everyone see the images all right? I came home this weekend and my dad's comp which has crappy netscape can't view the images (including the background image). I hope all of a sudden the links to the images aren't broken.
